Passed away peacefully on September 4th at Northumberland Hills Hospital. He is survived by his wife Nancy Cumberland Redner, son John David Redner (Yvonne), daughter Linda Redner-Hunter (Gordon), son Michael C. Redner Cumberland (Patti), his grandchildren: David John Redner, Iain, Sarah and Charlie Cumberland, Kate and Matthew Hunter and Christina Hunter. He is also survived by the families of Jill and Bob Trennum, John and Maureen Cumberland, Chris and Tom Currelly and friends at Stoney Lake. Alan is predeceased by his mother and father, Winifred and Keith Redner of Rednersville, sister Brenda Everden Redner, granddaughter Jamie Redner Hogarth and in-laws Betty Currelly (née Richardson) and Brigadier Ian Cumberland. Gratitude is extended to our friends from: Colborne, Toronto, Port Hope, Penryn Village and the Governor General’s Horse Guards (of which he was a Captain in the Militia). Alan served as President of Bear Automotive Services, Applied Power Inc. and the Automotive Industry Association (AIA). A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, 35 Pine Street North, Port Hope on Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at 11:30 a.m.  If desired, condolences to the family, directions to the service, and donations to Northumberland Hills Hospital may be made at or by calling COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME at 705-742-1875.
