REDFORDpostMargaret “Peggy” Redford, of Hanover, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Saturday, March 02, 2013, in her 89th year.

Born in London, England to John and Sarah (nee Johnson) Fowler. Peggy was employed with Osborne Interiors as a seamstress and then Bruce County Real Estate, a member of both the Royal Canadian Legion Hanover Branch #130 and the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary. Peggy was a member of the A.T.S. (Auxiliary Territorial Service), aircraft spotter and height finder serving with the British Army during World War II. Peggy married Lloyd Redford in 1945 in London, England and came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride.

Survived by daughters Susan Hutchinson of R#1 Elmwood, Gwynne Redford of Kitchener, Jill (Jim) Karn of British Columbia, grandchildren Martha Cunningham (Michael), Jacqui Howie (Ron), Scott Cunningham (Elaine), Tim Redford (Erin), great grandchildren Cole, Matt, Ewan and Liam.  Also remembered by her sisters Gwen King of England, Olwyn Lockhart of Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Redford and a brother Ivor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 am  at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Rev. Stan Bunston officiating. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #130. Cremation with Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery.
