William (Bill) Clinton Rayfield

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on January 22, 2014 of Bill Rayfield at the age of 66.

Bill was the much loved husband of Elizabeth (Horne) Rayfield and loving father of Dr. Ben Rayfield (Pam) and Adam Rayfield (Alicia). He was the son of the late Clinton and Isobella Rayfield and was raised in Orillia. He is lovingly remembered by brothers Jack, Paul( Bonnie) and sister Florence( John Coles), sisters in law Gina ( late Peter Rayfield), Marilyn(Scott Maclagan),Marion(Jim Todd),and Kathy(Norm Stickland). Uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

As a young boy, Bill delivered The Packet and was known as “sunny face”.

He carried his smile and happy attitude with him throughout his life.

Bill was a retired Property Assessor and recently worked at O’Connor Hardware Store at Prices Corners. He will be remembered as a man with a wicked sense of humour, a story-teller, fisherman, golfer , hunter, gardener  extraordinaire. His dill pickles are legendary!

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date to allow his son Adam to come home from China.

We will miss him.

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

May the rain fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
