Peacefully on August 20, 2014 at 75 years of age. Born March 16, 1939 in Kirkland Lake, ON to Mildred Daurie and Milford Pye. He moved to Halifax, NS in 1939 where he resided until September 2013. He then retired and moved to Windsor, ON with his wife. Stewart worked for John Leckie Ltd. until 1967 and attended St. Mary’s University where he obtained his Bachelor of Commerce in 1969. He received his Chartered Accountant’s Diploma in 1971. He worked for The Canada Revenue Agency, then Touche Ross before starting a private practice where he continued until his retirement. Stewart enjoyed snooker, bridge, basketball, singing, whistling and cottage life. Stewart is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Mary-Elizabeth Pye (nee Flynn), and by his daughters Elizabeth Moore (Bob) and Kathleen Rose (Philip). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jordan, Christopher, Katherine, Finnian and Conall. Predeceased by his sisters Arlene (1937) and Lorraine Ernst (2013). Donations to the Hospice Residence ( would be appreciated by the family. Cremation was held.
