PUTNAM, Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” (nee Sanders) of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at her late residence, the Elgin Manor, R.R.#1, St. Thomas  on Friday, August 17, 2012, in her 90th year.  Wife of the late C. Max Putnam (1994).  Mother of Patricia Margetts and her husband Jeff, and Peter Putnam and his wife Laurel, all of St. Thomas.  Grandmother of  Joseph & Jaclyn Putnam, and Andrew, Jon and Julia Margetts.  Peggy was predeceased by her sister Stella Pinder, and by her brothers, Jack and Robert Abbott.  Born in Blenheim, ON, January 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Sanders.  Peggy was a retired employee of Bell Canada.  She was a former member of Kenneth Lucas Chapter, I.O.D.E., St. Thomas.  In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Private interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park.  An open house to share memories of Peggy will be held at the home of Peter and Laurel Putnam, 8762 Tike Rd., St. Thomas (east on Elm St. just past Centennial Avenue on the right) on Monday, August 20th between the hours of 2:00-6:00 p.m.  Memorial donations to the Elgin Manor Recreation Fund gratefully acknowledged. The Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) is entrusted with arrangements.
