PRATT, JAMES VICTOR (“Jim”) former resident of Markland Wood, Toronto and recent active resident of Tollendale Village, Barrie, died Wednesday, January 7th at Southlake Health Centre in his 94th year. Born in Toronto on November 17th 1920 to Dr. Clarence and Ethel Pearl Pratt Jim attended Toronto Humberside High School. In World War II Jim served as a corporal in radar service with the Royal Canadian and the United States Air Forces in Africa, Italy and France. In October 1948 he married Charlotte Arnaudo of Hyeres, Provence, France. After receiving a Business Certificate from the University of Toronto Jim became a municipal bond dealer for Equitable Securities of Canada, Levesque Beaubien and National Bank of Canada and acted as “fiscal agent” for the Regional Municipalities of Niagara, Ottawa-Carlton and Peel. Charlotte died in Barrie on May 17th 2006. Jim and Charlotte had three children and are survived by James Howard Pratt (Linda), Paul Victor Pratt (Brenda) and Michelle Ann Doke (Lindsay); by grandchildren Nathan Pratt (Michelle), Brittany Pratt, Danielle Pratt, Christopher Doke, Nicholas Doke and Mathew Doke and great grandson Noah Pratt. Jim was also beloved brother in law of Charlotte’s brother and sister in law Paul and Francoise Arnaudo of Paris/Hyeres, and proud uncle of Laurent Arnaudo (Sandrine) of Paris and Pascal Arnaudo (Emma) of Fribourg Switzerland. Jim’s passions were family and golf. He was able to enjoy these passions through the last year. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 24th 2014 in the Main Building Village Square, Tollendale Retirement Community 274 Hurst Drive, Barrie, Ontario, L4N 0Z3.
