Passed peacefully at Afton Park Place a month short of his 84th birthday.  Son of Reginald and Alice (nee Carroll) (deceased). Survived by his brother Jimmy Powell (Maxine) and predeceased by his brother Arthur and sister Alice.  Loving husband of Faye for 62 years and dedicated father to Paula (deceased), Scott (Carol), Dale (Linda), Ann (Ted Herbert), Joan (Kelly Wilson), Rod (Esther), Lorie (Charles Vogels), Gay (Russell Martin).  Loving Grandfather to Evan Powell, Craig Herbert, Jenna Powell, Kayla Powell, Tate Herbert, Taylor Wilson, Kurt Powell, Riley and Ally Vogels, Reid Martin, Keely Wilson and Grace Martin.   Al retired after 40 years with CN Rail and Via Rail serving as conductor, brakeman, and yard master.  He was active as a scout and cub master in 27th Ormand Beach Scout Troup at High Park United Church.  He was an avid camper and enjoyed the outdoors and the history of  WWII.  Al and Faye were also big supporters of Sarnia minor hockey and season ticket holders of the Sarnia Sting.  A private family service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
