Peacefully, on February 11, 2014 at 82 years of age. Beloved husband of 63 years to Lauretta (nee Mailloux). Loving father of Lou Ann Pope (Don Revait), Janice Poynter (Richard Rauth), Caron Towle (Jim), Larry (Colleen), David (Renee), Ron (Julie), Sandy Dent (Craig Collins). Cherished grandpa of Dana (Jason), Jen (Ricky), Michael, Marcus (Amber), Mitchell, Jordan, Lucas, Lauren (Matt), Adam, Taylor, Devon, Ethan, Kirby, McKenna, Olivia, Jake and Madelyn. Treasured Great-grandpa of Jackson, Londyn, Kayden, Lucas and Griffin. Predeceased by his parents Rose & Leo Pope and brothers Don and Lionel. Dear brother-in-law of Pauline Harding, Janet Lefebvre, Edward Mailloux, Richard Mailloux, Betty Jean Brown, the late Gerald Mailloux and the late Gladys Cramp. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Al was retired from Xerox in Michigan after many years of service. Al was affectionately known as “Uncle Al the kiddies Pal” and fondly remembered for his sense of humour. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Thursday 7-9pm, Friday 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers Friday 8:30pm.
