PLAIN, Roderick Eugene – February 10, 1954 – October 11, 2013. On Friday, October 11, 2013, RODERICK (OZZIE) EUGENE PLAIN, a serving councillor of Aamjiwnaang, member International Labourer’s Union #1089, was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 59. Roderick passed on peacefully at his home in Aamjiwnaang. Dear loving partner of 40 years to Hazel Wanda Bressette, father of the late Roderick Eugene Bressette and proud and loving grampa of Dalton, Dakota, Dianna and Roderick Bressette (Baby Mikey). Dear brother of Delores Plain, Kelly, Bonnie and Nadine Kiyoshk, Jon Rising and Karen Gold. Loving son of Susanna and late Roland Kiyoshk, Pre-deceased by a sister Dana Kiyoshk, Rod is cherished by many relatives, nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Aamjiwnaang, Roderick served for 4 years as councillor, was a member of the Band Council and was a member of Local #1089 for 38 years. Visitation will held at Maawn Doosh Gumig on Sunday and Monday afternoon and evening from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at MAAWN DOOSH GUMIG, 1972 Virgil Ave., Sarnia today, Tuesday, October 15th at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Aamjiwnaang First Nation Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
