Passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on September 27, 2017 at the age of 67. Loving best friend and husband of Cheryl. Dearest father and dad to Steven, Krista (Jeremiah), Mandy, and Brandon. Loving grandpa of Rebecca, Jocelyn, and Tyler. Cherished brother of William (Nellie), and Cameron (Olga). Predeceased by his parents William “Sam” and Betty Pickering. Ken will be missed by many extended family, friends, and his beloved pets. Ken retired from Chrysler Canada in 2003 after over 30 years of service. He loved fishing, and playing darts at the Riverside RCL Br. 255 where he was a proud member for over 40 years. As both a coach and player, Ken had a passion for 5 pin bowling at Playdium Lanes for decades. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 West at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus and RNs Lisa and Mitzell from St. Elizabeth Healthcare for their compassion and care. For those who wish, donations may be made to Transition to Betterness or the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. In honour of Ken, please consider donating blood through Canadian Blood Services.  As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Riverside RCL Br. 255 (5645 Wyandotte St. E., Windsor) on Friday October 6, 2017 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
