Alice Maud Pelegris (formerly Alice Maud Keel) passed away on September 10 while asleep and in the presence of her closest family,

Daughter of James and Cecilia Keel, she was born in Bonavista Newfoundland, grew up first in Catalina Newfoundland and then moved to Toronto with her family as a child. She is survived by her husband, Spiros; children, Peter, Rebecca and Andrew Pelegris; and brother, William Keel.

Having been born with a heart defect and living with its consequences throughout her life, Alice overcame the expectations of her doctors to volunteer, start a career and raise a family. Despite the pressures of her health and family, Alice continued to volunteer at church and schools. She was talented in knitting, sewing and cooking and was actively invested in the success of her children.

Alice will be missed by her family and friends, but has touched the lives of many more and left a lasting impact that will always remain.

Visitation at the PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Pharmacy and Warden) on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in our chapel at 11 a.m. and Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery.

As a believer in the importance of helping others, it is suggested that her memory be honoured with a donation to the Scott Mission or Doctors Without Borders.
