Parsons- William “John” of St. Thomas passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2014 while surrounded by his  family at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in his 88th year. Dearly loved  husband of June (Williams) Parsons and  loved father of David (Nancy) of Belmont and Alan of Toronto. Much loved  grandfather of Rachel and Nicole. Dear brother of Victor Parsons of Scarborough. Dear brother-in-law of  and Betty Hubert (Donald) of St. Thomas . Sadly missed  by several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was born July 3, 1926 in St. Thomas, the son of the late William and Lillie (Perry) Parsons. He was retired machinist from the C.S.X.  (C& O) Railway. John  was an active  member of the Elgin County Railway Museum. He  was a member of First United Church, an elder and trustee.

Memorial visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Elgin County Railway Museum in memory of John.
