PAQUETTE, Charles-EdouardIt is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Charles-Edouard Paquette on December 3rd, 2013 at the age of 85.  Charles, son of the late J.T. Paquette and Bérangère (née Ménard), was born on September 3rd, 1928 in Azilda.   He was happily married to Gisèle (née Lalonde) for 59 years.  Dear father of Michel (Sylvie Michaud), Gilles (Denise Belcourt) and Carole (Normand Roy).  Proud and loving pepére of 8 grandchildren:  Alain (Julie), Natalie, Marie-Andrée, Stéphanie (Nathaniel), Jean-François, Janelle, Emilie, Mathieu and two great-grandchildren:  Félix and Luca.  Dear brother of Gaston (Janine), Colombe (Maurice DesRosiers, predeceased), Fernand (Jeannine), Marie-Claire (Richard Huneault), Gérard (Aline) and Jean-Jacques, predeceased (Linda).  Charles was deeply devoted to his family, cherished them and enjoyed the numerous family celebrations.  Charles was a proud co-owner of Paquette Men’s Wear, having worked there for over 40 years until his retirement.  He was an active member of the Club Richelieu Sudbury for 60 years and was also on the Board of Directors of Place Nolin for 20 years.  After retirement, he joined a senior’s woodshop.  He was proud of the many handcrafted birdhouses and other items which he built and gave to his family and friends.  Charles had many other hobbies: he was an avid golfer, liked to play cards and travel.  He also enjoyed bird watching and going to the YMCA for a sauna and a swim.   A special thanks to the dedicated staff on the 5th floor at Extendicare York for the excellent care given to Charles during his stay.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. ,Sudbury, Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. and after 12:00 p.m. (noon) Friday.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated.
