Beloved wife of Joseph St. Croix. Loving mother of Suzanne Ste. Croix (Brent Radbourne) of Owen Sound, Patricia McAlpine (Mark) of Belleville, Robert Ste. Croix (Michelle) of Belmont and Michelle Moulton (Richard) of Spencerville. Cherished Grandma of Lee Wyscaver, Jessica and Joshua McAlpine, Jazmyne Ste. Croix, William (Rosanna), Ben (Samantha) and Westley Moulton; and Great Grandma of  Gage, Bailey, Caitlin, Brooklynn, Trista, Keegan, Landyn, Addison, Alexander, Oliver, Zoe, Lincoln, Levi and Lily.  Loving daughter of the late Philip and Germaine (Doyon) Vachon.

Peacefully, at Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, October 12, 2017 formerly of Markdale, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of 40 years to Ian Boyce. Dear mother of the late Eric Zimmerman and mother-in-love to Janet Cope. Adored Grandma of Martin Cope. Predeceased by brother Joe Cannon. She will be greatly missed by many nephews and nieces.

Aileen was born on January 30, 1921 in Toronto, having lived for some time in Philadelphia, which sparked the travel bug in her. Having been a world traveller she lived in Shanghai for 2 years, and also travelled Whales, Europe and much of the US. Aileen was part of many different groups over the years including the Glenelg Friendship group and the ladies group within the Church of Christ.

She loved classical music and spent many hours listening while gardening, with a particular love for daisies and delphiniums but more than anything she had a great love for her Church and church family.

The family will receive friends at the Church of Christ, Meaford (113 Nelson St W), on Saturday, October 21 from noon until the time of service at 1pm. Cremation has taken place. Russell Wilbert Purdon, a resident of Caressant Care, Harriston and formerly of Pike Lake and Whitechurch, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest on Thursday, October 12th, 2017 in his 93rd year.

Beloved husband of the late Violet Purdon (née Scott) (Penner) who predeceased him on November 10th, 2012.

Dear father of Bryan and Jan Purdon of Goderich, Milton and Diane Purdon of Alberta, Thelma Dougherty of B.C. and Linda and Dennis Coghlin of R. R. #2 Listowel.

Missed by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Olive Zinn of Wingham, and brother Kenneth Purdon of Dorchester.

Fondly remembered by his first wife Joan, several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Predeceased by his parents, John and Annie (née Bolt) Purdon, step-daughter Carol Penner, brother Clifford, sisters Verna and Reta, brother-in-law Ken and sister-in-law Rhea.

Rilla was born in Osprey Township to Milton and Bertie Roberts. Rilla was a strong woman of faith who had unconditional love for everyone. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with all the grandchildren. She was extremely proud of each and every one. They always brought a smile to her face.

After a battle with ALS, Clarence passed peacefully, surrounded by his family at Grey Gables Nursing Home, Markdale on Monday, September 25, 2017 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of 52 years to Linda(nee Krueger). Loving father of Wayne of Dundas and Sandra(Craig Campbell) of Orangeville. Loved and remembered by his grandchildren Justin and Teslyn Kopoulos and all of his family and friends

Clarence was born in Adjala, Ontario to Bert and Murial Dolson. He met and married his love, Linda, in 1965 and they had two beautiful children. He enjoyed very much his broomball, hunting, fishing, dancing, time with his family and took great pride in his John Deere tractor. Clarence will be remembered each time one of his friends hears a classic country song.

The family will receive friends at the Flesherton Kinplex(2 Highland Drive, Flesherton) on Friday, October 6 from 1:00-4:00pm. The family will share memories of Clarence’s life at 2:30. After a brief illness at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale on Friday, September 22, 2017 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Victor Brown(1999). Greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, particularly Claudette, Penny, Anne, Audrey and Kervin, Marge and Ken. Special friend of Margaret Banks, Elizabeth MacLean, Jim McLeod and Sharon Heft and the late Harold Martin. Predeceased by siblings Douglas, Robert, George, Ted, Lillian, Winnifred, Ethel and Rosa.

Ruth was a devoted Christian and had loved her faith and church family. Born and raised in Montreal, she married Victor in 1957 and worked at Cominco until 1970 when they moved to Ontario and settled in Port Credit when she worked at Mount Sinai hospital for many years. Upon retirement, Vic and Ruth moved to the beautiful Grey County, settled outside Priceville and used the scenery as inspiration for her many beautiful artworks. Ruth loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by many.

Loving mother of David(Kathryn Blundon) of Newfoundland, Paul(Wilda) of Flesherton, Lyn Allen(Chris Kastein) of Dundalk and the late Leslie Allen. Loved and remembered as Grandma or Nana to Kris(Jill), Jessica, Aimee(Jeff) McEachern, Lauretta, Danielle(JP) Smits, Natalie(Isaac) Pascucci, Justin and Bailey Trudgeon. Fondly remembered by her great grandchildren Killian, Elijah, Madeline, Rachael, Josh, Josiah, Liam, Gabrielle and Sophia. Dear sister of Jean and Syd of England. Olive will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Life Story:

Olive was born in London, England on November 12, 1931 to Charlie and Emily Taylor.  Olive worked in a children’s nursery and then began her career as a professional dress maker.  Olive met the love of her life and they married in 1950. They, along with the two boys, moved to Canada in 1959 and expanded their family to include 2 girls. Olive enjoyed volunteering, contributing her time and talent to the UCW, 4H, The Agricultural Society and The Horticultural Society. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and flower arranging.   Most of all, Olive enjoyed her family and her garden.  She spent hours perfecting her garden which was included in a garden tour to be enjoyed by many.  She and George turned their love of antiques into a successful antique business called Cobwebs Antiques in Flesherton.

The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton, on Thursday, September 28 from 7-9pm. Memorial service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11am. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Flesherton Cemetery at a later date. Mom passed away on Tuesday, August 29, with the grace and dignity she has shown all of her life. She was so happy knowing that her five children were surrounding her with love. We know that our dad, George Michael Kieffer, has been waiting for her to join him for almost twenty years, since November, 1997.  And ready to hold her hand since February, 2014 is her grandson, Jordan Ross Strickland.

She is so cherished by her children: Kevin Kieffer and Brenda Leahy, Janice and Paul Strickland, JoAnn and John Kennedy, Marilyn Kieffer and Wayne Evans, and Allan Kieffer. She was so proud of each of her grand and great grandchildren:  Kellen and Rachel, Liam and Ben Kieffer: Leah, Dave and Lila Allen; Colleen and Phil Kerneghan; Daniel Strickland; Michael and Patrick Kennedy; Matt and Jake Evans.

She will be missed by her sister Marjorie Schmalz, sisters- in-law Margaret Durrer, Kay Durrer and Virginia Kieffer, brother-in-law Don Fortune, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom married George Michael Kieffer on June 9, 1949. Together they worked alongside each other in their dairy operation, while raising five children. Although mom and dad did not have the same opportunities, for their children they encouraged, supported and instilled the life-long values of family and friendship, education, music, sports, work, travel, and giving back to your community. Mom exemplified this through her leadership in the CWL, Belmore Seniors Group, 4-H Homemaking, Belmore Curling Club, Director of Teeswater Fair, Belmore Women’s Institute, and the Belmore Happy Group.

After dad passed away, mom moved to the Bellehaven Apartments in Belmore.

She couldn’t have had a better place to thrive for the last twenty years. There was always someone knocking at her door to play cards, quilt, share Monday morning coffee, watch some curling or a ball game, go for a walk, out for lunch, a play or concert, or just sit on the front porch and chat. She had frequent visits from many neighbours and friends of all ages who loved to spend time with mom, which was especially important to her when it became more difficult for her to participate.  Mom and all of us knew we had several special people to call to check in on her, and that she was safe. We are so grateful for mom’s full life and would all aspire to be so fortunate.  We are especially thankful for Dr. Marie Gear, mom’s family doctor for over 30 years who shared our wish and supported us to keep mom in her own apartment.

Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Friday, September 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Teeswater on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Keith Morrison as celebrant.

Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, followed by a celebration of Mom’s life at the Belmore Community Centre from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Mom loved flowers, but we also know that she would really appreciate instead if donations were made to Jordan Strickland Family Endowment at the YMCA of Western Ontario, Wingham and District Hospital Foundation, Belmore Chamber of Commerce or Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, Teeswater.

Our loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.

Missed by her 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Angus and Betsy (née McMurchy) Graham, brothers Rennie Graham and Allan Graham (Elsie) and sisters, Margaret McInnes (Gordon), Mary Snowe (James), Anna Robinson (Hawkes) and Jean Lowndes (John).

Beloved husband of 42 years to Nellie(nee VanDuivenbode). Loving father of Joel(Linda) of Toronto and grandfather of Isabella and Victoria. Doug was born in Weston, Toronto on April 25, 1947 to the late June and Wilfred Morgan. He spent his childhood working farms in Brampton and enjoying the outdoors, he adored the rural life style. After working over 35 years in Oakville, Brampton and for the city of Toronto as a building inspector. He built many great relations in various trades over this time. His great passions were family, hunting and fishing. Doug and Nellie bought their dream property in Holland Centre in 2004, which brought him back to the country life he much adored.

George was born in London, England on February 5, 1932 to John and Rose Allen. He met the love of his life and they married there in 1950. They, along with the two boys, moved to Canada in 1959 and expanded their family. George discovered he had a knack for talking and turned that into a very successful career in sales.  George received an award as the top insurance salesman in North America for Prudential Insurance Company.  He was a dynamic salesman for Mascot Truck Parts and in his retirement George was able to use his sales and people skills and turn it into a successful antique business called Cobwebs Antiques in Flesherton.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna (nee Dougherty ), two daughters Terri (Rick Bowhey) ofMinnessing, Tammy (Bill Martin) of Appleton, Wisconsin, three granddaughters Kate (Rob McGibbon) and Sarah (Mark Mo? ett) both of Barrie, and Allison of Appleton, Wisconsin. Bert was the proud great grandpa of Jack and Luke McGibbon.

WADDELL, Fredrick William James: 1929 to 2017 – The family announces with great sorrow his passing on June 13th 2017, at 87 years of age. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Betty) and beloved father of Douglas (Roseanne), Alan (Anna) and Richard (Arlene). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Andrea (Douglas Beatty), Jonathan (fiancée Kierann Santala), Charlene Gordon and her children Autumn Mangione and Calista Thibert. He is also survived by his sisters Joan Grant (late Melvin) , Diane Mulvihill (late Peter), his sisters in law Gladys Ward, Roberta Marshall (late Alfred) and his brother in law Robert Lessard (Shirley). He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Jane Waddell and his parents in law Robert and Norma Lessard, his sisters Elizabeth (Betty) and Eileen Crisp (late Frank). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Saturday, September 2, 2017 beginning at 1:00 pm until the memorial service begins at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Died peacefully at Watford Quality Care on Monday, June 12, 2017.  BETTY JOHNSON (nee Mitchell), formerly of Petrolia, was in her 88th year.   Betty was the wife of the Earl Johnson (2008).  Betty will be missed by her children Hope Springer and Jim West of Wingham, Rick Johnson of Brampton, Larry and Dianne Johnson of Cornwall, Tim Johnson of Mississauga, Jamie and Aggie Johnson of Georgetown.  She was a loved grandmother to ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son-in-law Dave Springer (2010), a granddaughter Rayanne (2001) and a great granddaughter Alexis.    Betty is the daughter of the late Andrew and Lillian Mitchell, a sister to the late Wilbert (Shirley) Mitchell (2016), Jim (the late Sonja) Mitchell, Lil Hoskins, Marie (the late Don) DeKeyser, Reta (the late Jack) McLean, Donna (the late Cliff) Oliver, and Doris (Ed) Storey.   She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Marion (Joe) Allison.   A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 12:30 pm from the Enniskillen Community Centre, 3068 Main St., Oil City.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Lambton Elderly Outreach (lambtonelderlyoutreach.org).  Memories and condolences may be shared on-line at www.needhamjay.com.

Peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury, formerly of Duncan in her 84th year. Irene is the beloved wife of the late Lloyd Wellington Knox. Born in St. Vincent Township on April 16, 1934 to the late John and Pearl McDonald. Dear sister of Helen(Al) Dales, Alex(June) McDonald, David(Joan) McDonald and sister in-law of Muriel Hewgill. Loving aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She is predeceased by sister Yvonne Wilson Walsworth(Jim Wilson and Bob Walsworth), brother Murray(Armol), sister in-law Hazel McNichol(Scottie), brother in-law Nobel Knox(Joan McBean) and Floyd Hewgill.

Irene was born in St. Vincent Township but moved to Collingwood Township as a teenage  and lived there for the rest of her life. She was a teacher for over 30 years in various schools in the township. She will always be remembered as generous in nature and devoted to her family, friends and community.

A celebration of Irene’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Kolapore Calvary Church of the Nazarene at 11:00am. Cremation and interment with Lloyd at the Clarksburg Union Cemetery have taken place. Murray Black of Durham passed in Owen SoundMurray, of Allan Park, passed away suddenly with Kay, Tricia and Steve by his side, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in his 73rd year. Born in Markdale, Ontario on January 4, 1945 to the late Malcolm and Pearl Black.

Dear brother to Charles and Beatrix Black, Ann and Ralph Hollis and brother in-law to Carol Black and Kay Black. Predeceased by his sister Marie and brothers Raymond and Bill and infant daughter. Haggard will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Sadly missed by son Kevin Black of Guelph, daughters  Marcie(Garth) Lowry of Sawyerville, Quebec, Deanna(Ashly) Geraghty of Yellowknife, North West Territories, and son Gary. Loving grandfather of Patrick, Kimberly, William, Alexandria, Katherine and Andrea.

Murray worked 45 years as a heavy equipment operator and continued this work right up to last week. Known as Haggard for his love and skill with the guitar, and thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing. He took great pride in property, constantly planting trees and keeping the cedar hedges trimmed.

The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland Drive Flesherton, on Monday, June 12 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Mass of Christian burial from St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Glenelg  on Tuesday at 11:00am. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery, Glenelg. RACHER, BRIAN – At Bluewater Health on Saturday, May 27, 2017, Brian Francis Racher, age 66 of Sarnia passed away with his friends by his side. Suddenly at home on May 24, 2017 of Creemore in her 13th year. Adored by her parents Jessica Stephenson(Jason Ferguson) and Dale(Leia) Lundy of Creemore. Loving sister to Stephanie, Cole and Nick Lundy, Luke, Troy and Kloe Ferguson. Much loved by proud grandparents Wendy(Martin) Wickens, Glen(Sheila) Lundy, Eldon(Shirley) Ferguson. Spirited niece of Lindsay(Dustin) McIntyre, Lisa(Jeff) Bullock, Katie Stephenson, Matthew Wickens, Tiffany McFaul, Andrew Taylor, Donny(Rachelle)Lundy and Darryl(Jen) Lundy. Ayla will be deeply missed by cousins Drew and Evan McIntyre, Brayden, Blake and Kortney Bullock, Mya Madill, Haley and Jack, Samantha, and Matthew Lundy.
Ayla loved her 4-H club and had great pride in showing her sheep. Beyond her passion for agriculture she loved sports, spending many hours playing hockey and baseball as well as biking and swimming; a happy, friendly young lady who loved to dance, listen to music and was a great friend to many.

Peacefully, with her family by her side, our dear daughter, sister and aunt, Patricia (Pat) Louise Habart of London passed away on April 18, 2017, just shy of her 73rd birthday.  Predeceased by her father Horace Habart (2003).  Dearly loved and sadly missed by her mother, Lillian Habart (nee Vernon) of London, sister Susan Peacock (Jim Price) of Rodney, nephews Barry Peacock, Jamie (Joanne) Peacock all of London, and Ryan (Elsa) Peacock of Dutton.  Special Aunt to Addy, Ben, Blake and Cate.  Pat was a kind and giving soul who dedicated most of her life to the care and well-being of her Mom and Dad.
