ORR photo CroppedPeacefully, surrounded by loving family, on July 18, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Meredith Orr passed away at the age of 88. Beloved husband of June (nee Merrett) Orr. Loving father of daughter Jacquelyn Wreford (Ray) and son John Orr (Alison). Cherished grandfather of John Wreford, Martin Orr, Jessica Davis (Shawn), and Celeste Orr (Dana). Treasured great-grandfather of Isla Davis, Sawyer Davis, Silas Davis, and William Wreford. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents George and Hazel Orr of Toronto, sister Barbara and brother Mac. Meredith was born in Toronto in 1926 and came to Sarnia with his family in 1956 to buy the insurance brokerage of City Insurance. He was at the office most days until age 87. He had many artistic talents and hobbies that included decorating his lovely home and sailing, and raced in the Mackinac Race. Meredith was a past member of the Sarnia City Council. He also built a motor boat and a 1927 Bugatti replicar. He loved to travel and shared many wonderful trips with June. Meredith was a chartered member of the Grace United Church and a member of the Board of Trustees at Grace United.  The family wishes to thank all his caregivers, VON, and especially Dr. Maddison. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. following visitation.
