Passed away, surrounded by his family, on May 7, 2013, in Orléans, at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents Ubald Dutrisac and Alice Séguin. Beloved husband of Aline Lamoureux. Dear father of Denis (Suzanne Thériault), Francine (Richard Ouellette), Rachelle (Roch Rancourt), Louise (Claude Drouin), Luc (Sylvie Houle) and Julie (Marcel St. Jean). Cherished grandfather of Amélie (Stephen Webb), Josée, Brigitte (Étienne Dicaire), Martin (Ashley Lavergne-Lemay), Caroline (Mike Cooke), Catherine (Brian Gagné), Mélanie (Dominic Poirier), Geneviève (Justin Dumais), Éric (Nathalie Beaulne), Julien (Céline Masson), Chanelle (Justin Brazeau), Samuel, Sandrine, Cédric, Noémie and Katia. Great-grandfather of Wilfrid, Flavie, Lilou, Christian, Lorick, Emma, Sienna, Kéliane, Antoine and three more to come. He is survived by his brothers Gérald (Odette Yelle), Jean-Marie (Claire Patenaude), Sylvio (Louise Gibeault), André and his sisters Lucille (the late Gérard Ouellette), Marie-Antoinette (the late Alexandre Laurin), Carmen, Marjolaine, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Paul, Yves, René (Aline Bergeron), Guy (Estelle Léonard) and by his sisters Fleur-Ange and Suzanne. SuddsDorisSudds, Dorris Irene (Best) – Former Napanee resident Dorris Sudds passed away peacefully on May 4, 2013 at Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa, with her daughter Bonnilea at her side, she was in her 90th year. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred in 1976 and her son Wayne in 1996. Dear sister of Muriel Jarvis of Napanee and beloved mother of Roy and his wife Carol of Brockville, daughter-in-law Diane of Kitchener, Larry and his wife Linda of Prescott, John and his wife Marie of Ottawa, Robert (Bob) and his wife Kim of Arnprior, Bonnilea and her husband Demetre of Ziakas Greece. Daughter-in-law Jean Michalz of Niagara Falls. She will be also missed by her cousin and close friend Dorothy Perrin of Toronto, and all of her many close relatives and friends. Predeceased by her mother and father; Alfred and Mary (Minnie) Best and brother Alfred and sister Kay. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Stephanie, Laurie, Julie, Bruce, Konstance, Melissa, Justin, Alexander, Jenna, Ryan, Samantha & Patrick and by her twelve great-grandchildren. Born in Toronto on February 8, 1924 she was a graduate of Shaw Business College and moved to Napanee in 1959 where she lived for more than 45 years. She was well known throughout the area for her active involvement in political and volunteer work, including Chairman of the Housing Authority, President of the Napanee Seniors Club and Secretary for the United Senior Citizens of Ontario and was a past president of the Rebekahs as well as, volunteering with the Hospital Auxillary and the Canadian Cancer Society. She continued to live a very full and active life until shortly before her passing and will continue to be a true role model and inspiration for all that knew her. A woman of tremendous courage and commitment, her love, intelligence, humour, and generosity will be greatly missed. BEATCH, HenryThe family announces, with sorrow, the passing of Henry (Hank) Joseph Beatch who peacefully passed away at home, in his sleep, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the age of 83.  Henry was born in Cut Knife, Sask. May 23, 1929, second child of Louis Edward Beatch and Marie Theresa Lussier. His mother died January 1931 after which he was taken to live with grandparents Julien & Rosina (Columbe) Lussier at Cabana, Sask. near the town of Meadow Lake, Sask. His dad married Albertine Mary Thibodeau on Nov. 12, 1932.  Henry returned to live with the family in Cut Knife when he was about seven or eight years old, as grandma didn’t think he needed to go to school, but his dad did. The Beatch family moved to Battleford, Sask. in the 40’s where the kids attended St. Vital‘s Catholic School.  Henry left home to seek his fortune in the spring of 1946. He worked for farmers for some time, traveled out to BC. where he met with some of his Beatch and Lussier relatives, and then he joined the services. He was stationed at camp Borden and Petawawa for a couple of years. After his discharge he made his life in Sudbury, ON where he met Armande Giguère (deceased).  Loving father of Nancy Rodrigue (Gaits), Daniel Beatch, Robert Beatch (Bev), Brian Beatch, Sheila Beatch (deceased), Sharon Beatch (Raymond) and Lisa Raymond (Mike). Dear brother of Claire Haubrich (Walter, deceased), Julie (Wies) Nijman (both deceased), Louis (Lucie) Beatch, Jeanette (Leonard, deceased) Wickstrand, and Elmer, deceased (Susan) Beatch.  Grandfather of Bobby (Michèle), Vanessa (Jeff), Derek (Justine), Crystal (John), Charles, Joshua, Marc (Manon), Kristen (Mike), Joey (Christine), Renelle and Cedric, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Long time companion to Miriam Labine (deceased).  Miriam’s family, Luanne (Mitch) Chartrand, Jeff (Marilyn) Labine, Jessica (Ryan & Ella) Hastings.   Hank will be lovingly remembered by many friends, especially long time friends Clarence (Buck) and Nikki Page.  Hank, an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman and golfer, enjoyed the outdoors.   During his retirement he enjoyed reading western books, woodworking, tending to his garden and building bird houses for his finches and chickadees.  His father Louis Edward Beatch died in Battleford, Sask. March 24th 1946, and his step mother, Alberteen Thibodeau died in Saskatoon, Sask. August 9th, 1983.  His parents are all buried in Cut Knife Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Thursday, April 25th, 2013 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, April 26th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in l’Annonciation Church, 1168 Northway Avenue, Sudbury.

Synopsis: Janice Margaret Featherston was born June 30, 1949 into a military family and spent her early years on her grandparents’ farm while her father served his country in Korea. Following his return from the war, the family led a typical military nomad life with postings in Petawawa, Winnipeg and Ottawa among others. She became the typical ‘Army Brat’ and maintained the ‘Brat’ part well beyond the early years.

Following her graduation from Woodroffe High in Ottawa (’68), Jan attended the University of Western Ontario where she was granted a Bachelor of Music, Honors in Music Education (’72) and a Diploma in Education, Post Baccalaureate Program, Althouse College (’73). Armed with her unstoppable desire to teach High School music, Jan responded to a note on the bulletin board at Althouse and soon became one of the founding faculty of what has become the world-renowned Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College. During her tenure, she touched the lives of the vast majority of the students that passed through the halls, many of whom have gone on to be some of the most creative and influential leaders of the international music industry.

Jan was principled woman who wasn’t afraid to stand up for what she believed and did so regularly with an amazing combination of tenacity and compassion. She was true leader whose greatest joy was watching others grow and flower, a real scrapper; who won every battle she took on, except one. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Borrie and the team at the Aging Brain and Memory Clinic at Parkwood Hospital, Betsy Little and everyone at the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex, and all the staffs at both Horizon Place Retirement Residence and McGarrell Place Long Term Care for all their compassionate and professional support throughout this ordeal.

A remembrance will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London Ontario between 7:00 and 9:00 PM on Friday April 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society London & Middlesex www.alzheimerlondon.ca.

Predeceased by his wife Juliette (Smith), son Desmond, and sister Olive Geddes. Survived by son David Phair and daughter Sharon (David) Crowe; sisters Ida Sheridan and Gladys Turner, brothers Wesley (Pat), Cecil (Hazel) and Mervyn (Viola); grandchildren Joseph Crowe, Sheila (Michael) Clesle, Michelle (Jon) Farrar, Brianne Phair and Kayla Phair. Stan was a 25 year veteran of the Toronto police force, a lifetime farmer, and top notch euchre player. His contagious enthusiasm will be missed by all who loved him. Wannamaker, Carl Frederick, of McArthur’s Mills, and formerly of Prince Edward County,  passed away at Bancroft on Sunday November 18th, in his 92nd year. Son of the late Isaac and Nina Wannamaker. Dear father of Norman and Carol, of McArthur’s Mills,  and Betty (David) Beaumont, of Picton. Carl is survived by his wife, Wilma; two sisters, Joyce Knight and Susan White;  by brother-in-law Norman Mackey, and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Elva Mackey, Helen White,  Mabel Lloyd, and by one brother, Amos Wannamaker.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273). The Funeral Service will be at the Steele Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 20th, at 2:00 p.m. with Bill Theobald officiating. Rose will be missed and always loved by her daughters Barbara (James Wills) Day-Wills and Rosemary (Wayne) Willemsen; grandchildren Shannon (John Cheung) Day-Cheung, Laura and Emily Wills, Ryan (Patricia Septon) Willemsen, and Michael Willemsen; and her greatgrandchildren Ava Rose, Zara Ann and Myla Mei Cheung. Passed away peacefully in Ottawa, surrounded by her family at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Andre Castonguay. Loving mother of Mark Gehring (Nathalie Tremblay), Paul Gehring (Sandy McDonald) and Christopher Gehring (Debra). Devoted Nanny of Sean Gehring (Sal Patten), Cole Gehring (Nancy Blampied), Richard Gehring and Benjamin Gehring. Proud Great-Nanny of Claire and Bennett. Predeceased by her parents Reginald and Lillian (Kay) Attmore, and by her sister June Shaw (late John). Maureen was a kind and generous person, and was happiest when surrounded by her family, her adopted “daughter” Monique, her friends, and her beloved Pug Chester. Born September 3, 1918 in Bedford, Nova Scotia – God’s country: the hub of the universe and passed away on October 27, 2012. Eleanor was the fourth of seven children born to Rita and Edward Thompson. She moved to Ottawa in 1939 and married the late Cecil H. T. Lowe in 1942. Loving mother of Pat Graham, Heather Lalonde and Peter. Dear Nana of Jennifer, Brian, Shannon, Katie and Kimberley and great-grandmother of Delani, Liam, Finn and Elliott. Beloved sister of the late Lucille, the late Ruth, Jean, Audrey, Ted and Heather. Special aunt of many nieces and nephews. When God created our mother, the mold was broken. Eleanor was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. We will miss her beautiful smile, gentle ways, wise counsel and calming nature. Many thanks to the staff of Beech Court at Madonna L.T.C. for their unwavering, tender care of our Nana. Born Feb. 10, 1923, Blaine Lake Saskatchewan
Peacefully, Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012. Beloved husband of sixty-five years, Viola Bolton (nee Gunning). Much loved father of Diane (Everett Johnston) of Victoria and Judy (Mike Poulin) of Smiths Falls. Adored grandfather of Tim (Sarah) and Tom Johnston of Victoria, Ben, Nick (Sarah) of Smiths Falls and Rebecca Poulin (Curtis) of Vancouver. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by a brother, Ray of St. Thomas. Alfred had a long and distinguished career as a research scientist in plant diseases for 41 years at the Experimental Farm, Agriculture Canada in Ottawa. He was a dedicated family man and a true renaissance man. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening, cooking, sewing, watching sports and any other challenge that came his way. In his retirement years he became an accomplished carver. He was a founding member of Emmanuel United church. He is going to be sorely missed. A thank you for his care at the Riverside Home Dialysis Clinic and especially to his case worker Sharon and to the staff of the ICU at the Ottawa General Hospital for their compassionate care. Kearney, Robert Allan “Bob”

Following a tragic fall, leaves in sorrow his wife of 60 years Pamela (Green), loving father of Ann Woolford (Steven), David (Heather), Carolyn Clarke (Dolf), Allan (Fiona), Sandra Downs (Marc). Grandad to Jennifer, Andrew, Christopher, Bryan, Adam, Sarah, Thomas, Brendan, Robert, and Shauna. Great Grandad to Courtney, Emily, Benjamin, Grace, and Natalie. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Catherine Jane, brother James and sister Aileen.  Born and raised in Westmount in Montreal. Attended King School, Westmount High and Sir George Williams College; graduated with a BSc from McGill. Met his wife Pam playing tennis. Loved music, books, family events, camping and travelling the world. Career included being a Special Risks Inspector with Canadian Underwriters Association in Montreal, Dominion Fire Protection Engineer, Ottawa, and Committee of the National Building Code at National Research Council. Long-time member of the Freemasons: initiated at Canon Shatford Masonic Lodge Montreal, Past Master Civil Service Lodge 148, Past District Secretary of District 1, Past Grand Steward, and York Rite. Past President and long time member of the RA Stamp Club.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at both the Ottawa Civic Hospital ICU and St. Vincent’s Hospital for taking such good care of him over these past few months.
Funeral will be held Sunday October 28th 2:00pm at Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod St. The service will start with a Masonic memorial service, and be immediately followed by a service for friends and family, then followed by a reception. In Memoriam donations to the Brain Injury Association of Canada are appreciated.
