Oostveen: John Henry
A long time resident of the Chatham area, John Henry Oostveen died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus on Monday May 20, 2013 at the age of 64. Born in Maartensdyk in The Netherlands on July 11, 1948, son of the late John & Gerarda Oostveen. Beloved husband of Anne (Murphy) Oostveen. Loving father of John Oostveen, Megan Oostveen (Ryan Lackey), Thomas Oostveen, and Jaclyn Oostveen. Proud grandfather of Dawson and Aria Lackey. Dear brother of Henry Oostveen, Maria Romaschin (Alex), Robert Oostveen (Joanne), and the late Anita Balango, Theresa Hornick, and Frank Oostveen. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. John was employed as a Civil Engineer for many years with the City of Chatham and Chatham-Kent, and more recently with Cole Engineering in Markham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
