SHEPHARD, Erie May – Passed away at Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Site, Petrolia on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 our dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Erie May (Dennett) Shephard, left us to rejoin her beloved husband Gordon, as well as her parents Delos and Ethel (Glass) Dennett and brother Jim. Our hearts are heavy, yet grateful to have loved and been loved by such an amazing woman that the world was truly blessed to have known for the past 91 years. Erie was a devoted wife to Gordon, and loving Mother to Dianne and her husband Larry Bannerman, and Darlene and her late husband Mike Nottley. Cherished Grandmother to Kurt Bannerman and his wife Karrie, Susanne Baxter and her partner Mike Genthner, and Michelle Nottley. Erie wasn’t merely a Great-Grandmother, but more aptly an exceptional one, to Violet and Lincoln Bannerman, and Mackenzie, Jackson, Kirstie and Katie Genthner. Erie will be remembered as a kind and loving sister to Katherine and the late Jim Gibbs, Mary and husband Al Dagg and youngest brother Bill and his wife Shirley (Oliver) Dennett, as well as an amazing Aunt by many nieces and nephews on both the Dennett and Shephard sides of the family. Dear sister-in-law of Buelah and her late husband Ken Ferguson, Marie and her husband John McLellan. Predeceased by in-laws Mildred and her husband Graham Wilkins, Florence and her husband Lyle Gaw, Helen and her husband Omer Thibert, Lorraine and her husband Bill Burgess. For over 70 years Erie was a proud member of the Lady Martha Rebekah Lodge of Brigden, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 635 of Brigden.

A Lady Martha Rebekah Lodge Service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 4:45 pm. Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. PRINDLE, Richard “Weldon” (WWII Veteran)-entered into rest at Quinte Gardens, Belleville, on Remembrance Day, November 11th, 2018, one day after his 96th birthday. Dear son of the late Fred & Viola Prindle. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis “Irene” Prindle (nee Liddle). Loving father of Lorraine Cole (late husband Arnold) of Belleville and the late Bruce Prindle (surviving wife Kristine) of Chatham. Also lovingly remembered by his grandsons Ryan of Ottawa, Matthew of Belleville and great granddaughter Taylor McKenzie Cole of Belleville. Predeceased by his siblings Marion (surviving husband Carl), New Brunswick, Verna (late husband Morris), Hazel (surviving husband Don), Belleville and Iner (surviving wife Shirley), Marmora. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Weldon retired from Canada Post after many years of service.

Visitation will be held at Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273) on Friday, November 16th, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. ~ 12:30 p.m.  Officers and members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #99, are requested to assemble at the funeral home for a Legion Service, beginning at 12:45p.m.  A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Wally Mayhew officiating. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Janet on November 11, 2018 at 78 years of age.  Loving wife, Best Friend and Soul Mate of Patrick.  Precious Mom of Ed and wife Lyn, Ann, Paul and David and wife Stacie.  Beloved daughter of the late Carl and Valera Elligson and dearest step-daughter and friend of the late Janet Lee.  Cherished and fun Grandma of Taylor, Jaxon, Kegun, Mikenzi, Maile, Zachary, Chelsea (Pete), Jacob and GG of Penelope and Stella.  Dear Sister of Carol and husband Steve Stojkovic, Gary and wife Nadia Elligson.  Nieces and nephews also survive.  Jan was a folk choir director for 12 years at St. John Vianney Church and was involved over past years in committees, organizations and volunteer work.  Jan loved hosting parties, creating gourmet food, silk floral arrangements, crafts, poetry, dancing and playing piano; shopping (was born to shop); helping people and her favourite moments were hugs and socializing with family and friends.  Jan and Pat spent many enjoyable and fun times at their “Riverside Resort” (Solidarity Tower) with family and friends and aboard their boat “Happy Hours.” If you so desire, donations to Hiatus House or Covenant House would be appreciated by the family.  Cremation has taken place.  On Thursday, November 15, 2018 family and friends are invited to meet at St. John Vianney Church for visitation from 10 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.  A private family interment will take place at a later date at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Reunited with her dearest husband Steve (2015) with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Devoted and cherished mother of Daniella Dickens (Dave), Lisa Bastian, Sonia Palleck, Mimi Prier and Marko Vorkapich (Danielle). Proud Baba to Hanna Prier, Djuka Palleck, Jake Vorkapich and Andrew Bastian, Jelena, Desanka, Petar and Mila Vorkapich, Danielle, Nicole and Kenny Dickens, Noah and Lily Hewson, and Stella Maisano. Born July 4, 1937 to Marko and Leposava Vascic in Sudbury, Ontario. Survived by brother-in-law Mike Vorkapich (Angie). Loving Strina to Stevie, Petra, Smilja, Nada, Mikie and their families. Dear cousin to Mitzie Mandic (the late Savo). Dear Kumovi to Stana Loncar (the late Michael). Millie was a proud member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters. Baba was happiest when spending time with her loving grandchildren and took pride in preparing family meals. She enjoyed watching sports, especially March Madness basketball, doing her needlepoint, crochet and taking care of her dogs. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of a compassionate and loving father on November 8, 2018 at the age of 85 years old. He is reunited with his late wife Shirley (nee Wichert) (2007), and was lucky to have found love again with his partner Jean McGrath. He is adored by his children Linda Amicarelli (Mike), Kenneth Booth, Karen Guitman (Vadim), and Janice Mullins (Chris). Proud Papa of Melodie Williams (Adrian), Dawne Miller, Jennie Leonard (Neil), Bobbi-Jo Tremblett, Michele Amicarelli, Mackenzie Renaud, Hillary Renaud, Sam Renaud, Cassie Mullins, Emily Mullins, and 10 great grandchildren.

Albert left a lasting impression on anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. You could see his warm heart beaming through his smile. He captivated people with his story-telling, and made you cry with laughter from his jokes. He served as a supervisor for the city of Windsor. He dedicated a large portion of his life to giving back to his community – through aiding the Dragon Boat organization, lending his voice in song to cheer the elderly, and heading a new chapter of the Lion’s Club in conjunction with CNIB.

Passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018 at the age of 74 years.  Beloved husband, high school sweetheart and best friend of Carolyn (nee Lacchia) for 51 years.  Reunited with infant son Scott (1968).  Loving father of Laura DiBiase (Marco), Lana Vince (Dale), Steven Vince (Nancy).  Proud grandpa of Rebecca (Guilian), Daniella, Geena, Jesse, Chase, Desmond, Gavin, and Rory. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Andy Vince and in laws Aldo and Elsie Lacchia.  Missed by his sister Barbara Van Wingerden and husband John.  Brother in law of Pat and Terry Hebert. A proud KCI graduate.  Andy retired 20 years ago after teaching with the WEDSB for 32 years. He enjoyed being a basketball referee for 35 years, watching his Red Wings especially #9, golfing on a summer day and walking on the beach in Aruba.  He is now singing DooWop songs with his friends Rick Carpenter and Pat Ryall.  More than anything, he loved backyard pool parties and surrounding himself with his family.

Sucee (Christie) of Petawawa, Lee Ann Curran (Ian) of New Liskeard, Christie Bowbeer (Tim Carlyon) of Cambridge, Rosina Donker (Ian) of Strathroy, and Brandy Bird (Brett Carr) of Blenheim.  Dear sister of Maurice Keck (Alice) of St. Thomas.  Also survived by her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Predeceased by two sisters, Bernice Halpin and Dorothy Eveland, and three brothers, Lester, Wilbert, and Floyd Keck.  Born in Dutton, ON, March 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James and Mabel (née Lee) Keck.  Doris formerly attended the St. Thomas Pentecostal Assembly.  Cremation has taken place.  A public memorial service will be held at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, November 24th at 2:00 p.m.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the service.  Interment of her cremated remains will be made in South Park Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.

Smith (Brenda) of Windsor, Roberta  Lori (Phil) of Perth Australia,  Geri Kubicki (Dr Ted) of Virginia Beach, Michael A. Smith (Kate Wootton) of Toronto, and D. Daniel Smith of Windsor.

M. Smith, CMM, CD her parents Michael and Sophia Seradoka and brother Boris.  Loving sister of Mary Vasiloff.

Born on February 17, 1927, she was raised in Leamington and attended teacher’s college at the University of Western Ontario.  Smart, athletic and beautiful, she taught school only briefly before her child-bearing years, after which she devoted her life to the well-being of her children and grandchildren, each of whom she “loved equally”.  She could not be coaxed to name a “favourite”, despite the good-natured efforts of many to be so named.

Mom was a lady of kindness, character, integrity, and generosity of spirit, who went above and beyond as a mother and grandmother. We knew she would do anything for us, and she made certain we knew we were loved.  She impressed upon us the importance of higher education and humility and encouraged us to be our best selves.  She will be forever loved and remembered.

The family wishes to thank Dr. R Gibb for years of great care, Dr. M. Chevalier for exceptional, compassionate hospital care, and Amy’s Helping Hands and Carrie Isaacs for outstanding in-home care.

Obituary of RENAUD, Noreen (nee Forrester)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Noreen Renaud at the age of 94 on November 3, 2018. Noreen is survived by her four children, Paula (Linc Kesler), Suzanne (Ravin Nath), Richard (Sam Hedges) and Gregory (Nora McBean), nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and dear sisters Shirley, Brenda and Helen. She was predeceased by her loving husband Armand, mother Mary Helen (Nellie), father Frederick, brothers Neil, Earl and Norman. Born in Montreal, after completing high school, Noreen worked at Bell Canada and Dominion Securities. After her marriage she, Armand and growing family lived in various communities in Northern Ontario before settling in Windsor, Ontario. Noreen eventually returned to work at Bell Canada, until her retirement at age 65. Noreen had a full life, focusing her seemingly boundless positive energy, compassion and industrious nature on her family, friends and home. Although geographically distant, her home was always a hub where her children, grandchildren, siblings and many close friends were welcomed with joy, caring, attention and of course, wonderful meals. The family wish to extend their warmest thanks to the staff of the memory care unit at Seasons Amherstburg, the Hospice Residential Home (Leamington), and to Dr. Tom Deklaj for his compassion and care. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. CWL prayers Thursday at 4:30 pm. Family and friends are asked to gather on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Most Precious Blood ( 1947 Meldrum) at 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alzheimer Society or Hospice of Windsor-Essex County. Obituary of Schneider, Gerhard “Gary”

Passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 at the age of 78 years. Dearest father to Mary Lou (Rick) Cosby and Angela Berriman. Cherished grandpa to Nicole, Laura, Kaitlyn, Chase and great-grandpa to Madeleine and Rohan. He will be sadly missed by his long-time friend and business partner, Caroline ”Connie” Meyer.

Gary was the owner and founder of The Tax Stop Ltd for 31 years. The family and Connie would like to extend a special thank you to Amy’s Helping Hands, especially Mary and Irene.

Predeceased by his parents Wayne and Jean Bradt (nee Wing). Proud father of Ricky, Laura (Hussein), Maxine and Arthur. Loving papa to papa’s fat boy player Daniel and mini me Ali. Norman passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 28, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Liz (2018). Loving father of the late Curtis (1988), Randy (Dawn) Stroesser, Darlene (Jerry) Matthews and Cindy (Greg) Pancheshan. Adored by 10 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. Survived by his 2 sisters. Norman was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy who served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sports fan, both player and spectator. GO HABS! and GO SPITS!. It is with sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Susan Woodrich at the age of 67.

Sue was an amazing mom and friend to all that knew her. Susan is predeceased by her parents Edna Allan (John Horvath) and Edward Allan, and her brother Tom Allan (Willie). She will be greatly missed by her sons; Jason Anthony Woodrich and Chad Woodrich, estranged husband; Glenn Woodrich, her brother; Donald (late Barbara), along with grandchildren, Tyara & Taylor and many nieces and nephews.

Susan had just recently retired from the Canadian Consulate after 42 years and will be sadly missed by her extended work family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jody and Cheryl for their care and compassion with Jason during this time of need.
Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E 519.253.7234 on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4 to 7pm. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Reach for the Skye day program” in honour of Sue.

“Uncle John” leaves us to join in the arms of his loving parents, Julius and Gizela (Chamko) Cerget. Big brother to Anna Hancock (Don). Uncle to Chris and Margaret Hancock, Ken Hancock (deceased), Brian and Deanna Hancock, Laura and Peter Dobrich. Great Uncle to Jessica, Spencer and Forrest Hancock, Garrett, Landis, Brennan and Kendra Hancock, Aleksandar, Danijela and Stefan Dobrich. John was a giant and gentle soul who will be dearly missed. John was a retiree of Dominion Forge. A special thank you to all of his compassionate caregivers these past months, both at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus and at Erie Shores Hospice. John will also be remembered for his love of Racing at South Buxton Raceway and his love for hunting and the outdoors.
