KOWALSKI, Bronislawa “Bernice” – Passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Woodstock Hospital, Bronislawa Kowalski (nee Adamczyk) at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Antoni Kowalski who predeceased her in 1980. Dear mother of Alanea Kowalski (Dave Silcox) of France, and Jolanta Kowalski of Scarborough. Loving grandmother of Logan Kowalski-Smith. Bernice is survived by her sister Helena and nephew Henry and his family. After time in a German internment camp they made their way to England where she met a charming and attractive Polish man and they had two girls Alanea, and Jolanta before eventually settling in Canada.
From Alanea and Jolanta: Sadly, our mom was widowed too young but she was the strongest woman we’ve ever known. She was funny, smart, and attractive. You couldn’t win an argument with her but we tried! We always knew she loved us. We will miss her, but hoping she is somewhere dancing and laughing with our dad after so many years apart makes us feel a bit better. Our family will receive friends at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 11-11:45 am. A funeral liturgy will be held in the chapel at noon, with Fr. Dariusz Jagodzinski as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank the nurses in the CCU and Palliative care at Woodstock General Hospital for their amazing care and compassion during this difficult time. Smith-LeRoy, 519-537-3611.
