FullerFRONT (2)Peacefully passed at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia on Friday, April 11th, 2014. Gilbert Richard Fuller of Watford, formerly of Erie Beach, Ont. at the age of 82. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Shirley Barnes and by his children Bill (Jo-Anne) Boyd, Becky (John) MacLachlan, Doreen (Lyle) Powell, Shirley (Wayne) Steven, Gord Fuller, Trish Loeven, Jayne Boyd (Jim Spalding) and Tom Boyd. Gilbert is predeceased by his wife Jean Anne Fuller and by his children Marlene Amel and Diane (Tom) Kormandy. Gilbert will be sadly missed by all of his 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Gilbert was a lover of Classic Cars, Guitars, Country Music and talented artist. Visitation will be held at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Monday, April 14th, 2014 from 7-9pm. Binns, Karen (nee Schofield)- It is with profound sadness that the family of Karen Binns, 61, of Barrie announces her passing on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Beloved wife of 41 years to John, inspirational mother to Dorothy (Lyle) and Jennifer (Peter.) Karen is survived by her parents Hugh and Beatrice Schofield, siblings William (Line,) Bruce (Marie,) Bob (Heather,) Kathryn (John,) David (Marlene,) Neil (Anne,) many nieces and nephews, Brother and and Sister-in-Law’s.

Karen graduated from Georgian College in 1981 with a diploma in ECE. She enjoyed a long career working with children at Raggedy Ann Nursery School before finding her life’s work at Simcoe Community Services working with children who had special needs.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.  We invite you to all to celebrate her life with us on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11am – Bethel Community Church, Barrie. Visitation at 10am.

Born in Scotland on August 9, 1940, Andrew passed away peacefully at Mill Creek Care Centre in Barrie, Ontario on April 3, 2014 after a courageous battle following a debilitating stroke in 2004.  Beloved husband of Lesley for 50 years, loving father of Heather (Ward Foster) and Meredith (Gord Baker) and devoted grandfather of Chloe, Fiona and Ryan, predeceased by sister Isabel, survived by brother-in-law Robert Graham Lusk,  also sisters Yeti, Nicolette and Fiona.  After arriving in Canada in 1961, Andrew worked as a research analyst on Bay Street for many years.  A private service of interment will be followed by a celebration of his life later in the spring.  The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers at home for the past 9 years and at Mill Creek since November.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.com or the March of Dimes www.marchofdimes.ca would be appreciated.

Glen is in his 85th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Joyce for 63 years. Loving father of Glenda (Mike), Randi (Jill), Cindy (Mike). Special Papa to Jeffrey (Gina), Angela (Alain), Rebecca (Ryan), Shannon, Christine (Chris), David (Stephanie), David (Krista). Joyfully remembered by his great grandchildren; Nicholas, Madelaine, Tyson, Makenzie, Olliver, Abigail, Hunter, Hayden, Jaxson, Korben, Benjamin. Dear son of the late Elswood and Lulu. Dear brother of Vivian (Shug), Sanford (Dolores), Lindsay (Laurette), Delbert (Alice) and brother in law to Bill (Frances), Shirley (Louis).  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Born in Beachford, Pembroke; raised in Kirkland Lake, worked in the mining industry for most of his working career. Glen and Joyce also lived in Windsor, Iron Bridge, Sudbury and Blind River. Glen loved sports, he coached hockey and ball. He was an outdoor enthusiast. Glen was the president of the steelworkers union in the mid 1960’s in Pronto. He was a health and safety representative with McIsaac and always looked out for the best interest of people. In his 55th year, unexpectedly passed away on April 6th, 2014 with his wife Susan ( Kovacs ) by his side.  A loving and devoted father to their daughter Carmen.  He was born and raised in Kitchener.  Son of the late Fred Weigel ( deceased ) and Dr. Marga Weigel.  Andrew graduated from Heriot-Watt University with an MBA in finance.  He had many other designations, but nothing was more important to him than sharing his knowledge with the many students he employed at the Carolyn Beach Motor Inn ( Thessalon ) and the Bayview Dining Lounge ( Zurich ).  He took great joy in seeing others do well.  His inspiration of knowledge came from his mother.  He had an extensive career in hospitality, including Cara Operations ( youngest divisional controller ), Ellis Don ( Director of Finance at the Windjammer in St. Lucia ) as well as managing resorts in Muskoka and Southern Ontario.  He had a great passion for music and native art.  He enjoyed his annual male bonding fishing trips with Guy and Wally.  Andrew treasured the time spent travelling the world with the love of his life Susan during their 28 year marriage.  Love you forever, pray for you always.  Love Susan and Carmen.    In remembrance of Andrew please consider a random act of kindness to someone in need.  Church service will be held at St. Gerard Magella, Sault Ste. Sleegers (cropped for LFP)SLEEGERS, Peter Joseph – Passed away suddenly at his condo in Florida on April 5, 2014 in his 77th year. First son of Henry (2001) and Gerda (2004), Peter is survived by his loving long-time partner Susan Pratt (sons Murray (Lori) and Rodney, grandchildren Cassandra, Austin and Bryson Pratt), brothers and sisters Tony (2012) and Mary, Bill and Irma, John and Dorothy, Annette, Harry and Anna Marie, Joke (1947), Joe (Inez 1993) and Lori, Gerry, Al, Louis and Joanne, Jackie and Mike, as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins both in Canada and in Holland. Peter was involved in two enterprises that continue to evolve today; founder of a SLEEGERS Group of Companies (1963), and co-founder of the EDPRO Group of Companies (1997). Peter enjoyed his winter months in Florida at his condo on Marco Island, and his summers at his farm in London, ON or at his beloved Wingfoot Island on Lake Temagami. Peter will be missed by his family, his friends, and his close business associates.

Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, April 13th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. Loving mother of John (Antje) Schmidt (Houston TX), Robert Schmidt (Windsor), Lynn Schmidt (Françoise Pilloud) (Ottawa), Marlene (Bruce) Jones (London), and Allan (Lynne) Schmidt (Sarnia).  Cherished grandmother of Deborah (John) Sarac, Dwayne Schmidt (Nazanin Ostad), Emily (Greg) Duff, Pascal Schmidt, Maxime Schmidt, Dylan Jones (Melany McTavish), Peter Jones, Nicolas (Jill) Schmidt, and Sara Schmidt (Mike Lange). Treasured Great-Grandmother of Michael, Adam and Amanda Sarac, Kian Schmidt, and Isabella and Madalyn Schmidt. Predeceased by her granddaughter Jennifer Lynne Schmidt. Also loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews.  A warm-hearted lady, Isabel loved to sew her own clothes and spent many summer hours canning fruits and vegetables. maness obitPeacefully surrounded by love through her family and friends, Elsie passed on to be with her God the Creator at St. Joseph’s Hospice Center, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

Predeceased by her husband Charles (Chuck) Maness, her father Basil Gray and mother Evelyn Gray. Survived by her children Kim (Darren) Henry, Sherri (Shawn) Crowley, Vicki (Ed) Jacobs, and Eric (Paula) Maness. Beloved grandmother of Alissa, Niki, Jill, Kyle, Russell, Cameron, Brooke, Brittany, Karleigh, Kendra, Jarod, Madison and Charlotte. Cherished great-grandmother of Jada, Selina, Nolan, Lily and Lucy. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Bourque, Vern and Deanna Gray, Errnol and Wanda Gray, and several nieces and nephews.

Our loving mother Elsie was a lifetime member of the St. Clair United Church. She was a very proud Anishinabe Kwe who loved her community of Aamjiwnaang. Special thanks to the University dialysis unit, the Voyageur, Friddick’s Nursing Home, and the St. Joseph’s Hospice Center.

He was the beloved spouse of Lorraine Lalande; the son of the late Dwayne Hunter and of the late Pauline Picard.
