A resident of Wheatley, Mikal Girard passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the age of 59. She was born in Leamington and was the daughter of Charlie Shires and Rosemarie Wolfe. Loving wife of the late Albert Girard (2006). Cherished mother of Ginger Girard-Fram (Robert), Kama Girard and her fiancée J.P. Dorey Jr. Proud grandmother to Quinn & Robin. Dear sister to Rebecca Wolf (Rolfe), Roger Shires (Margaret), Donovan Shires. Mikal will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. peters patricia 1With great sadness, the family of Patricia Louise Peters announce her passing on February 17, 2015, at the age of 75. She departed in Hawkesbury, Ontario, surrounded by love. Born on January 29, 1940 in Trois-Rivières, Québec, Patricia was married to Frank Peters for 45 years. She was the caring mother to Frank (Ann Jost), Stephen (Vicky MacDonald), Deborah (Peter Stadtlehner), David (Robbin Seafield) and Glen. She adored, and was adored as a grandmother to 15. Patsy was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph O’Shaughnessy and Albertine O’Shaughnessy (né Boissonneault) and sister to Joyce Lupkoski. She is survived and remembered by her mother-in-law Gladys Pieters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born in Germany, EDWARD POEHLER, of Petrolia, was in his 93rd year. Ed immigrated with his family to Canada in 1952, eventually settling in Enniskillen Township where he farmed the rest of his life. Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Irma, his children, Ursula (Fritz) Gnass, Fred (Michele) Poehler, and Monika (Jim) Deleersnyder, his grandchildren, Heidi (Mark) McNabb, Rolfe Gnass, Derrick Poehler, Amanda Poehler, Jamie Deleersnyder, and Mike Deleersynder, and his twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Kurt (Anne), and many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents Friedrich and Marie, his step-mother Frieda, his brothers George and Fritz (Ursula), and his sister Elli. Ed was a millwright for many years. She was the daughter of the late Denis Beaudet and of the late Alyne Charlebois; the loving mother of Cédryk and Jonathan; the dear sister of Éric (Josée); the adored aunt and godmother of Alexe and Philippe. He met his love Victoria Mallo Leneve and raised 6 children; Bill (Monica Westfall) Janson and their children Hillary, Luke and Heidi, and Catherine Tamminen and her children Becky and Trevor; Linda (Ervin Perry) and their children Cindy and Steve; Douglas (Heather Wighton) and their children Edward (Allison Brown) and Patricia (Kevin Ryan); David (Monique Boire) and their children Corey and Nicole; Terry (Nancy Bordato) and their children Melissa, the late Andrea (2001), and Max. Cherished great grandfather of 16. Predeceased by his great grandson T.J. (1996). Dear brother-in-law of Lillian (Jim Taylor), Audrey (Bud Gilbert), Lloyd (Rose Baughtenheimer), Kenneth (Shirley), James (Doris) and Marilyn (Jim O’Neil). Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Prior to leaving Timmins, Ed was active in sports and played Senior A Hockey. When Dad came to Sarnia looking for work, he was hired on the Sarnia Fire Department, where worked for 39 years before he retired. He was also active as a member of the Sarnia community and served as a member of St. John’s Ambulance, President of Sarnia Professional Fire Fighters, Vice-President of Ontario Professional Fire Fighter’s Association, Vice President of Sarnia Labour Council, Assistant to Vice President OMERS (Retirees Organization), Coached Hockey and assisted with Silver Stick Men’s and Women’s, member and past President of Sarnia Optimist Club, assisted with the Marching Angels, Royal Canadian Air Cadets Sponsoring Committee and Chairman, member and past President of 403 Wing R.C.A.F. Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, February 12, 2015, Beatrice “Bea” Mortimer went to be with her loving husband Ronald at the age of 79.  Beloved wife of late Ronald Mortimer (2013).  Loving mother of Kim (Degny) Mortimer and Robyn Mortimer (Rick Marsh).  Grandmother of Yosbel, Yosdel and Yosdiel.  Loving owner of Doodles the Dog, who watched over her with a happy heart and tail.  Bea enjoyed her volunteer work, spending many hours helping Myles Vanni at The Inn of the Good Shepherd, and giving her time with the Family Crisis Hotline.  She loved going to the theatre but her pride and joy was her family, she was a devoted wife and mother, loved attending sporting events, and visiting Robyn at school.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers, support workers and the VON for their love and support while allowing Bea to remain comfortable in her home.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, at 11:00 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at The Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, 500 Errol Road West, Sarnia, ON. Harley Johnson passed away peacefully on February 16, 2015, hands joined with the love of his life; Mabel Shirley Johnson (nee Needham) of 66 years.  Loving father of Ron (Janis) of Mexico, Paul (Lise) of Vankleek Hill, David (Sheila) St. Clair Beach, Andrew (Liz) of Oshawa. Loved by his grandchildren Michael, Carolyn, Christine, Patrick, Steven, Trevor, Rachel, Scott, Shannon, Angie and spouses. A great grandfather to 10 great grandchildren. Passed away peacefully on February 13, 2015 surrounded by his family’s love at the age of 63 years. Best friend and loving husband of the late Laura Lynn (nee Best) (2013) sharing a lifetime of happiness and laughter. Loving father to Shannon and husband Geoff Stephenson and Gordon and wife Shannon Hodgins. Cherished Grandpa of Sarah, Emma, Tyler and Lauren. Suddenly passed away, peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends on February 13th, 2015. Jim was 52 years young and forever loved by his wife Marica and beautiful children who are the light of his life, James Jr. and Carly. Loving companion to Jackie Pillon and friend to her son Mitch. Loving father to Renate and husband Derek Revait, Edwin Glasmann, Dagmar Glasmann, Ralph and wife Kim Glasmann and Richard Glasmann. Cherished opa to 10 grandchildren and 5 great – grandchildren. Edmund retired from Chrysler Canada after 30 years of dedicated service and was a member of Unifor. He took great pride for being a handyman and helping others in need. Dear father of Francis (Carol), of Chatham, Catherine (Paul Boyce), Philip (1969), Mark (Lori), Leonard (Kitty), Andrew all of Windsor. Cherished grandfather of Sandra (Eric Gauthier), Adam (Yvonne), Kara, Jacob, Paula, Allan, Andrew, Chad, Zachary, Courteney and Chantal. Adoring great-grandfather of Finnean, Sivannah and Sidney. Predeceased by parents Jacob and Myrtle, brother of Hazel (1994), Garnet (1984) and Norma (2009). Clare will be greatly missed by many in-laws and friends. Clare was a dedicated employee, 39 years at Canada Customs and Excise. He was an avid woodworker and loved gardening. Clare was a faithful parishioner of Corpus Christi Church. Passed away peacefully on February 12, 2015 at 89 years of age. He is now reunited with his loving wife Adrienne “Ady” and daughter Frances “Fran”. Dear father of Jerome “Jerry” and wife Rose-Anne and Robert “Bob”. Cherished grandfather of Christine, Mary, Ann, Donna, Shaun, Tom, Bob, Zach and Alanda. Great grandfather of 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Gladys and his brothers Jerome and Robert. A heartfelt thank you to Rob Trudell for being by his side and providing comfort during his last moments. Also, thank you to the staff of the Oldcastle neighborhood at The Village at St. Clair who loved and cared for John during the last months of his life. John served in the American Army during WWII where he married his beautiful Belgian Bride. He retired from the CN Rail after over 40 years of dedicated service.
