Born on January 8, 1923 to the late Ernest and Arnetta (nee Pfeffer) Monk.

Survived by loving daughter Corliss (Larry) Alexander of Nobel and son Donald Redford of B.C., cherished grandchildren Paul and Jeff Alexander, Tom Redford (Farah) and Nicole Redford (John) and Jo-Del (Scott) MacKenzie and Jenna (Ben) Freiburger, greatgrandchildren Bryon Becker, Del and Laci Freiburger and greatgreatgrandchildren Gabriel and Lily Becker.  Also survived by her sister-in-law Mae Redford and Marilyn Boyce.  Predeceased by her husband Earle Redford, son Delton Redford, siblings Beatrice Mildred, Helen, Harvey, Eldrid, Raymond and Arnold.

To honour Eileen’s wishes a Private Family Graveside Service with interment was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Hanover Cemetery. Rev. John Polacok officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.

Hopkins-picElsie Hopkins, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at her residence on Sunday, March 09, 2014, in her 84th year.

Elsie was born on September 7, 1930 to the late Harry and Eva (nee Overland) Kingswell.  Her last place of employment was at People’s Department Store and has since enjoyed her time with the Hanover Seniors and the Unity Rebekah Lodge #147 – Wiarton.

Survived by daughters Barbara (Reg) Tomes of Hanover, Elizabeth (Glynn) Hardy of Bakewell, England, son Howard (Jill) Morrison of Markham, stepsons Roland Hopkins and Richard (Dawn) Hopkins both of Goderich, grandmother to Jamie and Kevin Tomes, Kristen and Scott Morrison, Alexandria and Devon Hardy, Shawn, Jon, Katie and Joe Hopkins.  Also survived by her brothers Lloyd Kingswell of Hepworth and Howard (Shirley) Kingswell of Thornbury and sister-in-law Janice Kingswell of London.  Predeceased by her 1st husband James Morrison (1964), 2nd husband Donald Hopkins (2008) and her brother Clinton Kingswell.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home (123 10th Street, Hanover) on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.   Rev. Alice Wilson officiating.

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our “Warrior Mother” after a two year courageous battle with cancer on March 5, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Loving mother to Lawrence and wife (Sandy) and Charlene Reaume. Helen will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Adam and Amanda, and her canine companion Levi. CONLIN: Ellen Marianne (Crowley) of RR2 Ailsa Craig

Conlin, age 62, of RR2 Ailsa Craig, formerly of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, died on Sunday March 9, 2014.  Ellen was born March 26, 1951, in rural Wisconsin, to Daniel and Catherine (Kelley) Crowley.  She grew up there until attending nursing school in Madison, Wisconsin, where she met her husband.  In 1973, she married Phil Conlin and moved to McGillivray Township, Ontario where they were blessed with four children who they raised on their family farm.  She was known for her hard work, professionalism and above all her compassion while working as a Registered Nurse for 42 years.  Ellen is dearly remembered for being devoted to her faith in God and the selfless love of her family; she was proud of her Irish heritage.

She was the dear mother of Tara and Mike Whibbs and Dr. Anne Conlin and Aaron Sehn all of Peterborough, Patrick Conlin and Dr. Kelly Mitchell of London and Dr. Catherine Conlin of Toronto. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Eleanor, Claire and Amelia.  She was the dear sister and sister-in-law of Margaret and Les Haefer, Kathleen and Rob Horkan, Dan and Anne Crowley, Mary Beth Crowley, Bill and Jolene Crowley, Leo and Jeanette Crowley and Andy and Mary Crowley all of Wisconsin, Tony and Mary Conlin, Jack and Lynda Conlin and Mary and Jerry Morley all of RR2 Lucan.  Predeceased by her brother Dennis.  She will be sadly missed by her “Canadian sister” Joanne MacGregor.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Olive was predeceased by her husband George (1992), daughter Judy (2006) and sister Kathleen (2008). Olive was dear mother of Carl and his wife Sheridan, Thunder Bay; Elizabeth and her husband Jim Grice, Niagara Falls; Richard and his wife Elizabeth, Fergus; John and his wife  Erica , St. Catharines;  Scott and his wife Bonnie, Barrie; Patricia and her husband Wade Yendall, Squamish, B.C.;  cherished sister of Frances Dawson, Victoria, B.C..   Olive will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were a source of great pride and joy for her.

Olive’s life was one of devotion – to her faith, her husband and her family.  She began her career as  a teacher of languages and used her gifts as editor of George’s many books on the history of Niagara.  She was committed to her growing family while at the same time working in the family business .   She was a devoted  member of Southminster United Church for over 60 years, active in the UCW for 50 of those years.

A service in celebration of Olive’s life will be held at Southminster United Church, Hagar Avenue, Niagara Falls, on Saturday March 15 at 11:00 a.m.  As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to Southminster United Church.

BOUCHER, Janice of Belleville

Boucher, Janice – In loving memory of Janice Boucher (nee Coffey) who passed away peacefully on March 2, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.   Janice was a loving wife to Bernie, mother to Lise, step-mother to Paul and Marc, sister to Paul (Janice), Eric (Gayle) and Scott, aunt to nieces and nephews, step-grandmother, and friend to so many.  She was a remarkable woman who approached life with a positive perspective and inspired those around her with her strength and determination.  Janice will be remembered as a pillar of love, support, encouragement, and generosity and she will be missed by all. 

A private memorial service will be held in the coming months.

After a brief illness, Anna passed away peacefully at University hospital surrounded by loved ones on March 7, 2014.  Anna, of London, Ontario, was in her 91st year.  She is predeceased by beloved husband Alex. Anna will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son Alex (Kathy), granddaughters Karey (Derek) and Sara (Nick), great grandson Matthew, and friends Julie and Carolyn. Private family service and interment to be held March 11, 2014. Special thanks to the care received from Medical Priorities and the staff of the emergency and palliative care units.  Thanks to nurse Nicole for her kindness. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Welch at 90 years of age. Loving wife of the late John Ferguson Welch. Cherished mother of Grace and late husband Howard Ratcliffe, and the late Wendy Hickey. Adored grandmother of Jessica Owchar (D.J.), Kim Cournoyea (Colin), John Ratcliffe, and Kate Ratcliffe. Great-grandmother to Adria, Brittan, Cameron and great grandson due in July. Dear sister-in-law of Barbara Coughlin (Tom).  Predeceased by parents Patrick and Grace Coughlin, sisters Jean Ferguson (David), Norah Joyce (Harry) and brothers Jim Coughlin (Jane), Patrick Coughlin, George Coughlin (Rosemary), and Tom Coughlin, sister-in-law to Craig and Janet Johnson and Grace Jones.  Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Maureen was an avid golfer and bowler, but above all else, family, friends and faith were most important. Maureen suffered from Alzheimer’s disease but never lost her ability to smile and make those around her laugh and enjoy her presence. Special thanks to the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living, Stillwater Creek Retirement Community and the Grace Manor for their loving care. If you so desire, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. LACHAPELLE, Joseph 1The family announces with sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 at the age of 92 years.  Beloved husband of 69 years to Thérèse (née Comtois) Lachapelle.  Son of the late Louis-Zéphirin and of the late Christine (née Pitre) Lachapelle.  Loving father of Gilles (Diane), Paulette, Bill (Lesley), Monique and Bernard (Raymond).  Dear brother of Léonie Castonguay (late Tyne), Gérard (Lucille), Hector (Hélène) and Roger (Irène).  Predeceased by his brothers Léo (Jeanne), Aimé (Rita), Rhéaume (Lucille), Henri (Gloria), Rosario and by his sisters Marie-Ange (Onis), Alma (Urbain) and Jeanne (Rhéal).  Sadly missed by 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was known by his grandchildren as “Papajoe”.  Joseph worked as a First Class carpenter and Shop foreman for Barlow and Sons for 17 years and also worked for 23 years for the Sudbury Seperate School Board as a Maintenance Superintendant.  He also volunteered for many years at the Lasalle Residence and at Extendicare Falconbridge and was an active member of la Paroisse St-Dominique, Sudbury.  Joseph lived his final years at St-Gabriel Villa, Chelmsford.  The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St-Gabriel Villa.  Your kindness and care were greatly appreciated during his final journey.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday, March 7th, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Paroisse Ste-Anne-des-Pins, Sudbury.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to St-Gabriel Villa – Vermillion (by cheque only) or to the Parkinson Society Canada would be appreciated. RICHARD, AnitaAnita Richard, 60 ans, décédée le 2 mars 2014 à la Maison Vale Hospice à Sudbury. Avec seulement son sourire elle pouvait éclairer la pièce dans lequel elle entrait.  C’est avec immense peine qu’on annonce le décès de notre chère et tendre mère. Elle nous laisse dans une grande tristesse. Mais, on se console en sachant qu’elle est partie retrouver ceux qu’elle aimait: (sa soeur défunte) Rosa et (ses parents défunts) Marie et Albert Richard.  Elle laisse pour pleurer sa peine ses enfants: Michèle (Harold), Joël (Colleen) et Mélanie(Curtis). Aussi ses petits enfants Emmett, Haley, Curtis-Joël, Corson, Lily, Eamon et Julia. Poulin of Val Caron.  Daughter of the late Omer and of the late Léa (née Lavallée) Bastien.  Loving mother of Renée Anne, Jean François, and Andrée Eve Poulin (Mario Velásquez).  Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family, relatives, co-workers, and friends. Jocelyne worked as a teacher for the “Conseil Scolaire Catholique du Nouvel-Ontario”. The family will receive relatives and friends at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse on Saturday, March 8th 2014.  Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m followed by a reception in the parish hall.  Donations (by cheque only) to Pregnancy Care Center and Infant Food Bank would be appreciated.
