playfoot-chris-w300Suddenly at his residence, on Sunday, November 6, 2016 of Exeter at the age of 44.  Dear nephew of Emilie and Ralph Playfoot.  Chris will be missed by his many friends and staff at his Huron Street residence – Anago Resources and ARC Industries, Dashwood.  Predeceased by his father Raymond, brother Jeffery, grandparents Irvin and Rheta Playfoot and Ray and Wilma Clarke.

Beloved wife of Lloyd Benninger.

Missed by grandchildren, Michael, Charlene (Mike), Philip and Rachael and great-grandchildren, Keaton, Rylan and Aria.

Dear sister of Jim Hayes (Maureen) of Stratford and Jeffery Hayes of Wingham.

Remembered by in-laws, Yvonne Benninger of Formosa, Roseann and Len Steffler of Cargill, Linda and Lloyd Weber of Mildmay, Cathy and Ken Waechter of Walkerton and Jerry and Pauline Benninger of Formosa.

Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents John and Beatrice (née Cowley) Hayes, brother Philip Hayes and brothers-in-law David Cassidy and Carl Benninger.

A celebration of Jan’s life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 180 (183 Victoria Street West), Wingham on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.

amentWilla Ament – formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Listowel on Sunday November 6, 2016 at the age of 82. Willa was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel.  She enjoyed knitting, time spent at the trailer in Port Elgin, campfires, singing, playing cards and board games and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Gordon Ament who predeceased her in 2000. Loving mother of Brian (predeceased 1985), Linda (Keith) Holmes and Paul (Mary Lynne) Ament.  Special grandma of Kelly (Wes) and their children Aaron and Brennan; Stacey, Mark (Lindsey), Marlee and Brynn.  Sister-in-law of Edith Schalk and Eileen Ament.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Willa was the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her parents Gerard Sr. and Marie (Schyff) Schalk, brothers Henk (Janet), Cor (Joyce), Gerard, and sister Erna (Bill) Lucas.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 74 years of age. Devoted and loving husband to Neera for 42 years. Most amazing dad to Kanwar, Mondeep and Monica Narewal of Windsor. Best friend of Balbir and Amar Maan and family. Beloved cousin of Swarn Singh and family of England. Predeceased by his siblings in India. Dear brother-in-law of Baldish (Karamjeet) Toor, Amarjit Randhwa (Sunina), & Meeran Toor. Uncle of Ravi Sher Toor (Ramneek) and Preetinder Dhillon (Pawan), and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends around the world. Mohinder graduated with his Masters Degree in Geography and Library Studies from Punjab University in Chandigarh, India, where he also became a Professor. In 1972 he migrated to Canada where he settled and flourished in Windsor. He retired from Chrysler Canada after 30 years of dedicated service while also working as a Real Estate Agent with Bob Pedler.  Ambitious, hard working, successful, Mohinder strongly provided for his family & friends.

Mohinder, also lovingly known as ‘Moe’, was a kind, generous, and doting father.   He was adored by family & will be missed dearly. Devoted and loving father of Noah and Christian. Cherished son of Jack and Denise Morneau. Dear brother of Jolayne Susko (Paul), Mark (Grace), Kara, John (Stephanie), Monique Gignac (Chris), and Andrew (Leslie). Son-in-law of Linda and Brian Hyatt, Roger and Irene Matteau. Brother-in-law of Jeff and Amy-Beth Matteau, Sandra and John Thompson, Steve and Tiffany Matteau. Uncle Rob will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Also survived by Tricia’s great-grandmother Frances Baillargeon. Nephew of Gerry and Kathy Morneau, Jim Morneau, Mary Helen Morneau, & Francie and Dick Wilhelm. Rob was a graduate of St. Rose School, Brennan High School and the University of Windsor. Rob was a proud electrician and member of the IBEW Local#773. Rob was raised in the Riverside area and loved playing baseball and hockey. He played baseball for Brennan as a student and upon graduation coached the Brennan baseball team where he met the love of his life Tricia, when she came to watch her brother play baseball. He also played baseball for AKO and the Windsor Stars. After the birth of his sons, Rob became very active coaching both hockey and baseball with Riverside Minor Hockey and Riverside Minor Baseball. He was also a board member of the Riverside Minor Baseball Association. Rob was one of those guys that could make anyone laugh. His boyish smile and laugh were contagious and will always be remembered. He was a family man and loved them with all his heart.

At the request of the IBEW and many of Rob’s friends a Trust Fund has been established and is available at any branch of the WFCU Credit Union for his children.

Doyle, Judy Maria of Sarnia

Passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health on November 3, 2016 with her family by her side.  Judy was born in Winnipeg in 1938 to the late Jack and Betty Elshout.  Predeceased by her beloved son Todd, her step father H. S. (Bus) Lockwood and Bill Cully her first husband (1969).  She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Peter, her loving sons and daughters in law Mark (Kathy) and David (Tracey), her grandchildren Alex (Nadia Botha), Ryan (Alanna Holz), Nicholas, Amanda (Jim Harding), Andrea, Amber,  great-granddaughter Alana Harding and sisters Jackie (Nelson Linam), Sarasota, Fl. and Jocy (Craig Young), Rochester NY.  Judy was a lifelong golfer who had a passion for the game and loved to play with her many cherished golfing friends in both Sarnia and Arizona.  In 2013 she was given the Bernie Masters Award as a most respected lady golfer at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club.  She enjoyed card games but Bridge was special.  She had a flare for fashion, decorating and crafts.  She loved animals and was never without a dog.  She was a longtime sorority sister in Beta Sigma Phi and was a past board member of the Sarnia chapter of Heart and Stroke Foundation.  She was involved in the establishment of the first and second Tim Horton stores opened in Sarnia where she was franchise/owner in 1978/84.  Judy had an engaging personality and was unforgettable.  She had many close and dear friends and will be truly missed by everyone she touched.  The family thank the doctors and staff at Bluewater Health for their wonderful care and compassion during Judy’s time there.  A special thanks goes out to our brother in law Dr. Michael King (retired) and his wife Joyce who took the time to help and be with our family during this difficult time.  They truly are an amazing and one of a kind couple.  At Judy’s request there will be no funeral service but a celebration of life reception will be arranged at the Sarnia Golf and & Curling Club in the spring of 2017.  If desired, donations to the Bluewater Health Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Loving father of Robert (Heather Greene), Crystal, Christina (Ryan Seguin), and Brenden. Devoted grandfather of Keerah, Chase, Ella, Tamia, and his newest grandchild Sarah Rose. Loving brother of Terry (JoAnne), Richard (Brenda), John (Susan), Jim (Vicky), and, of course, Joyce. Doting son-in-law of Helen Johnson. Brother-in-law of Linda Lantz (Sid), Randy Johnson (Rosemary), Clark Johnson (Corinne), and Ann Hawrish (Richard). Eric was a beloved uncle to many very special nieces and nephews, each of whom he had a special bond with, along with chosen family members Brianna, Jennifer, and Wendy.

CURRIE, Marie Gertrude of Cobourg, Ontario

currie-marie-nov-4Passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in her 95th year. Marie Currie (nee Hiegh) was the beloved mother of the late Marion Hickerson and sister to Betty Bulger (John) and the late Edward (Ted) Hiegh (Barbara) of Cobourg. Marie is a dear aunt to Ted Bulger (Barb), Valerie Taylor (Dick), Sharon Massey (Ron), Joey Bulger (Maxine), Paddy Bulger (deceased), Michael Bulger, Karen Stoker (Korr) and Brian Hiegh (Darlene). Marie will also be missed greatly by all her great-nephews and great-nieces. Marie was in the dentistry profession from 1951 to 1987 when she retired. She resided at the Legion Village in Cobourg for the past 35 years and was on their board for 9 years. She was also an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion of Cobourg branch for 34 years. She was very active in the Legion and was one of the great flag wavers supporting our Canadian troops throughout her life. Her heart was kind and she would always have a great smile or nice word to say to everyone. She was a feisty lady who was very independent in her life and lived it to the fullest. There are no words that can express how greatly Marie will be missed by her family and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12noon to 1 p.m. Interment Cobourg Union Cemetery followed with a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 133, Cobourg. Jacque was born in Haarlem, Netherlands on October 6, 1934, son of the late Huigbert and Gertrude Schaap. Devoted husband of Renske Schaap (Monsma). Loving father of Joanne (Larry), Diana, and Jacqueline (John). He will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren Shannon, James, Amanda, Sarah, Michelle and Juliana. Survived by his brother in the Netherlands, Bert and his wife Trudy. A celebration of Jacque’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th, at the Bowmanville Baptist Church. Died peacefully at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia on Thursday, November 3, 2016.  Fred LeNeve, of Petrolia, was in his 85th year.  Born in Sarnia, Fred was the son of Lionel and Lida LeNeve.  He was predeceased by his wife Helen (nee Eedy)(2003).   He is the father of Rick (Lisa) LeNeve of Newmarket and Kathy LeNeve of London, and is a grandfather to Alexandra and Jamie.  Fred, an accountant, operated World Data Services for many years.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to C.E.E.
