He was the beloved spouse of Carole Bertrand; the son of the late Wilfrid St-Jacques and of the late Aline Lafontaine; the father of Ghislain (Marlene), Louis, Robert, Charles and Line-Marie (Bernard); the grandfather of Marianne, Catherine, Sophie and Frédéric; the dear brother Jeanine and Françoise. He was predeceased by one brother Robert and the son of his spouse, Cédric. He also leaves the mother of his children, Violet Budge. He is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends.

SCISLOWSKI, Stanley

Passed away suddenly at the age of 90, on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Oak Park Retirement Home, LaSalle.  Stan will be overjoyed to be re-united with his beloved wife Joyce, who passed away on April 24, 2001.  He leaves behind his loving children, Pat and the late Joe Rispoli (2010), John and Toni Scislowski, Jerry Scislowski, Cindy and Phil Goldwater, Carolyn Scislowski, Julie and Chris Phillips.  He was a beloved Papa to Joey and Anne, Jesse, Lauren and Russ, Peter, Alyssa, Tonya, Christopher, Patrick, Mary Anne and Allison and a great grand-papa to Abby and Ben.  Stan was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Tekla Scislowski, and his four brothers and two sisters.  Survived by his sister-in-law Joanne Scislowski and many nieces and nephews.  Stan lived a very full energetic life.  His greatest pride and joy was his family.  He served in World War II in Italy with the Perth Regiment until he was wounded carrying a fallen comrade to safety.  His war years proved to be fertile ground for the writing that he undertook for the rest of his life, culminating in his first published Book at age 73, “Not All Of Us Were Brave”.  Stan was a self-taught chemist and used those skills in the family electroplating business.  He was a founding and lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 594 and the editor of the branch Newsletter for over 40 years.  He was also a member of the Windsor Historical Society and the Windsor Military Institute.  Stan never slowed down, despite suffering two strokes over eight years ago.  He spent much of the day at his computer, still writing, reading emails, surfing the net and watching YouTube videos.  But most of all Stan loved people.  He was never at a loss for words and was a master story-teller.  He touched many people and will be greatly missed.  We salute you, Dad.  If you so desire, donations to the Windsor Public Library Gift and Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family. Axford, Philip L. “Phil”, of St. Thomas, passed on peacefully to be with his heavenly family on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in his 55th year.  Proud loving father of Clayton and Candice Axford, both of St. Thomas, and Corey and Chris Greenside, both of Calgary.  Grandfather of Serenity Greenside. Cherished son of Lettitia (White) Strong of St. Thomas.  Loving brother of Debbie (Axford) Palmer of St. Thomas, and Calvin Axford (Rochelle) of Sparta.  Predeceased by his father, Laurence Clayton Axford, sister, Lena (Axford) Basacco, and brother,  Victor Axford.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.   Phil was born in St. Thomas on October 31, 1959 and was well known for his brickwork throughout the area.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.  A private family service will be held.  Donations for a memory leaf in Phil’s name to be placed on the Memory Wall in Pinafore Park would be greatly appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).

McDougall, Mrs. Marie (nee Schweitzer), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Friday, March 14, 2014, in her 89th year.  Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Russell A. McDougall (2006).  Dear sister of Sharon Gilchrist (late Neil) of R.R.#1, West Lorne.  Loving aunt of Heather Wannamaker (Brian) of Trenton, ON, and Duncan Gilchrist (Ronda) of Chicago, IL, and great aunt of Kyle and Natalie Wannamaker, and Samantha, Stephanie, and Patrick Gilchrist.  Also survived by several other nieces and nephews.  Born in Rodney, ON, October 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George and Myrl (nee Purcell) Schweitzer.  Marie was a retired employee of Richard Cochrill Ltd., St. Thomas.  She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church St. Thomas.  Marie was a former member of the St. Thomas Sweet Adelines Chorus and the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A public memorial service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, April 5th at 3:00 p.m.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior.  Interment of her cremated remains will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park.  If so desired, memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas or the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.

Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on Saturday March 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.  Sally (Murdoch) of Peterborough formerly of Richmond Hill in her 76th year.  Beloved wife of 48 years to Rod McComb.  Mom will always be loved and remembered by Sue McComb, Robyn McKetsy (Stephen) and John McComb (Mariela).  Cherished Nana of Chayse, Ashley and Logan.  A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Lakefield on Friday April 4, 2014 at 11:30 AM.  A reception will follow in the Church Hall.  As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to MS Society, P.R.H.C. Peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 22, 2014, Mary (Currie) Morrison of London in her 91st year.  Beloved wife of the late Henry Morrison (1995).  Loving mother of Mary Bettridge of Toronto, Pat Miller of London, John Morrison of London, Ed Morrison and his wife Diane of Belmont, Frances Morrison of Georgetown, Theresa Banks and her husband Ed of Peterborough, Eugene Morrison and his partner Sallie of Belmont, Angela Morrison of London, Michele Morrison of Belmont.  Predeceased by her children Tom, Christine and Robert. Mother in-law of Leone Brown. Cherished grandma of 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. Also missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins.  The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria Hospital 6th floor for the care provided.  Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the A. Johns, Blanche-W150Peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Saturday, March 22, 2014 Blanche Elizabeth Johns of Exeter and formerly of Usborne Township in her 97th year.  Beloved wife of the late Allen Johns (2004).  Dear mother of Shirley and Ross Rowe of London and Marilyn and Gary Eagleson of Chatham.  Dear grandmother of Laura and Bryan Tucker, Andrew and Jody Eagleson and Sarah and Derek Ferren.  Dear great-grandmother of Holly and Amy Tucker, Charlotte and Jonah Eagleson, and Sawyer and Ella Ferren.  Blanche is the last remaining member of her family.  Predeceased by her parents James and Ida (Halstead) Harrison, her five brothers Cecil, David, Herbert, Oscar, and Mervin Harrison and her sister Emily Oke.  Also predeceased by a grandson Christopher Rowe.  Remembered by many nieces and nephews.  After a lifetime of raising her family, farming alongside Allen, community service, and enjoyable travels, Blanche leaves behind a rich deposit of treasured memories and special moments.

Loving mother of Patrina Brown (late Jim), Gerald Shalton (Louise), the late Winston Shalton (Diane), the late Ron Shalton (Mona) and step-mother of Brian Smith, Sherry Rivett (Arnie), Mary Lynn Whittal (Don), Bonnie Tarcia (George) and the late Lloyd Smith Jr. Baba of Johnny Shalton, Jeffrey Shalton (Laura), Sharon Seguin (Richard), Glen Shalton, Lynn Gagnon (Brian), Derek Shalton (Linda), Karen Biso (Sean), Michelle Goh (Shen), Lisa Atkinson (Corey), the late Todd Shalton (Laura), Jaime Brown, Megan Brown, Carrie Burgess, Bryan Rivett, Brad Rivett, Shawn Filice, Heather Buchanan and of 33 great-grandchildren.
