Donna Veral Gray of Morpeth passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 at the age of 66 years.  Donna was the best friend and wife of Jim Gray, the mother of Kelly Hetherington (Greg), Mike Gray (Kerri) and grandmother of Mason, Liam, Madison and Maxx.  Born in Guysborough Nova Scotia, Donna was one of seven children to her parents Bernadette (Murphy) and the late Harvey Hadley.  She is survived by her siblings Shawn Hadley (Diane) of Guysborough NS, Jerry Hadley of Truro NS, Billy Hadley (Barb) of Guysborough NS, Bevin Hadley (Anne) of Toronto and Carolyne Hadley of Port Stanley ON as well as her sister in law Peggy Hadley of Truro NS.  Also survived by her nieces Kim and Karen and by her nephews Jeffrey, Phillip and Adam.  Predeceased by her brother Teddy in 2002.  Donna will be remembered for many things in life including owning Serena’s Ladieswear in Blenheim for 25 years, her passion for cooking, travelling and entertaining but maybe most of all for the love she had for her family and for the part of her that never really left her childhood home of Nova Scotia.  Friends and family are invited to gather at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home for visitation on Tuesday from 6 – 9 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday August 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.  Cremation to follow.  Friends wishing to remember Donna with a memorial donation are asked to consider The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (Ontario Region).  Online condolences for the family and memorial donations may be left at www.blenheimcommunityfuneralhome.com

Rita Marie DeMaeyer of Blenheim passed away at Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Friday August 1, 2014.  Rita was born in Tilbury North Township 92 years ago to her late parents Delia & Dusty Martin.  She always wore a smile, had a contagious laugh and showed much determination in everything she did.  With the help of her husband Joe DeMaeyer who predeceased her in 1998, Rita ran an upholstery shop outside of Blenheim.  She is survived by her siblings Edna Armstrong, Marie Abrams and Gerald & Irene Martin, by her children Pat & Ron Lloyd, Mary & John Blythe, Alice Demers, Doreen & Bob Larabie, Rose & Bob Rose, Shelley & Bill Montgomery, Bev & Pam DeMaeyer and Joe & Shari DeMaeyer as well as by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Ingram announces her peaceful passing on August 1, 2014 in her 96th year at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Innis Ingram (2007). She was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Luella Ward. Treasured Mom of Merilyn (Keith) Junkin, Ken (Mary) Ingram, Morris (Joyce) Ingram and Kevin (Kim) Ingram. Trevor Edward Albert Hayes 36, of Sarnia passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2014.

 

Trevor is survived by his loving parents Bruce and Debbie Hayes of Brigden; his sister Heather (Ian) Brown and  nephew Ethan Brown. He is also survived by uncles Raymond Jolly and Ron (Tina) Jolly; aunts Brenda (Don) Bromaroff; Mona Jolly and Gloria (Rob) Wright; godmother Barbara Lassaline; stepbrothers AJ and Adam Hayes; several cousins and longtime friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his twin brother Timothy James and his grandparents James and Vera Jolly; Rose and James Hayes.

 

Resting at the D. J. ROBB FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE where services will be held on Thursday August 7th at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.  Trevor’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Clayton Hill, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Saturday, August 02, 2014.   He was 81.

Born on September 18, 1932 in Carrick Township to the late Ezra and Katherine (nee Lantz) Hill.  Clayton was employed with P&H Foods for 24 years before beginning his retirement.

Survived by children Judy (Paul) Russwurm of Mildmay, Fay Hill of Hanover, Lorette (Terry) WIlliamson of Harriston, Kevin (Jeanette) Hill of Palmerston and Cleon (Charlotte) Hill of Walkerton, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Also survived by his sister Selma Pries of Hanover.  Predeceased by his wife Eva (nee Connolly) Hill and son Keith Clayton Hill.

web_Harvieux, DanDan was born into eternal life Thursday, July 31, 2014, while in the loving arms of his beloved Susan Renaud. He was 72 years of age. Dan, along with Elaine (Dickey), were the proud parents of Gerry & wife Karen; Angie & husband Michael McFadden; Michael & wife Jennifer; and Jason & wife Brenda. He was the beloved Papa to Dominique, Noah, Amber, Faith, Connor, Brock, Deryck and Rachel. Dan will be sadly missed by Sue’s family; Jim & Monica; Teri; David & Lynne; grandchildren Sarah, Christina and Matthew, along with treasured friends Patty and Jan. He is also survived by his twin brother David; brother Paul & wife Arlene; his sister Elaine and sister-in-law Mary. He was pre-deceased by his brother Roger and parents Henry & Margaret. Dan will also be missed by many special nieces and nephews.

He was a retired principal with the ECRCSS Board having worked at St. Michael’s and St Louis in Leamington, St. Joseph in River Canard, St. John the Baptist in Belle River and Holy Name Essex. A man of generous spirit with a strong work ethic, Dan also served the educational community in past roles as the ECRCSS Board’s Summer School Program Co-ordinator; leadership training facilitator and was a past president of the Principal’s Association.  He was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Parish, Tecumseh.

Dan volunteered his services with several community organizations throughout the years including the Essex County Association for Community Living, Meals on Wheels and the United Way. He was also a former member of the Tilbury Lion’s Club. Memorial donations in Dan’s honour can be made to Second Chance Ministries of Tecumseh, which operates Community outreach programs to those in need, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 6 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 4 pm at Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor, 519-969-5841. McMullen, Murray Earl DVM

web_McMullen, Murray81 years. After a long battle, courageously fought, Dr. Murray McMullen succumbed to Mylodysplastic Syndrome on July 31st 2014. He will be sadly missed by Constance, his wife of 58 years.  He was the cherished father of Shelley (Orest), Murray Jr., Mark, Michael (Victoria), and Grant (Leslea) and beloved papa of Alison, Jordan, Declan, Annah, Cian, and Olivia. He is survived by siblings, Stan, Erma, Charlene, Sheila and their families. Murray will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, numerous colleagues and many close friends. Murray was a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Toronto. He was an exceptional veterinarian who practiced in Windsor and Michigan for almost 50 years. Murray loved his profession and will always be remembered for his dedication to it. His keen sense of humor and his intellectual curiosity will be missed by all who knew him. He is remembered by his many clients for his expertise and the compassion and care he gave to their beloved pets.  In later years, Murray enjoyed spending time at his Florida home, golfing with his sons and friends, taking road trips in his motor home, and relaxing with the family cat. His family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Schiffer at the Karmanos Cancer Institute and the entire 8th floor staff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ontario Veterinary College. Cremation has taken place and an open house for a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. WHITING, Robert “Ray” (Dick) – Age 75 of Petrolia, formerly of RR#2 Oil Springs, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bluewater Health – C.E.E. Site, Petrolia. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Clark) Whiting for 50 years. Loving father of Debbie (Steve) Thorkildsen of Hamilton, John (Lucie) Whiting of Sarnia and Corey Whiting of Blind River. Cherished grandfather of Christie, Cassie, Katrina, Tianna and Sierra Thorkildsen and Michael Whiting. Survived by siblings Marion (Joe) McPhee, Gordon (Bernice) Whiting, Leslie (Karen) Whiting, Gloria (Jim) Matthews, Ross (Lindy) Whiting, Grace (Charlie) Whiting, Dr. Wilma (Wayne) Whiting and in-laws Ferne Whiting, Audrey (Ken) Farr and Cliff Zavitz. Predeceased by parents Howard Whiting and Blanche (nee Allingham) (Whiting) Brooks and siblings Carl Whiting, Shirley Zavitz, Frank Whiting and in-laws Judy (Clubb) Whiting and Howard McPhee. Ray was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local 1256. He farmed on the Dawn/Enniskillen Town Line for many years.
Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00am from the New Life Assembly Church, 421 Oozloffsky Street, Petrolia. Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Interment to follow in Oil Springs Cemetery.

MORINPeacefully, at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich, on Friday, August 1, 2014, Henri Joseph Morin, of Zurich, formerly of Grand Bend and Windsor, age 96. Beloved husband of the late Norma Irene (Miller) (Blascoe) (Booth) Morin (2004) and Nancy Margaret (Bell) Morin (1998). Fondly remembered by dear friend Dorothy Henderson of Zurich.  Henri will be remembered by Nancy’s sisters Doris Aeberli and Olive Mould both of Burlington, Doris’ children Paul Aeberli of Wasaga Beach and Susan Aeberli of Burlington. Predeceased by his parents Ludger and Maria (Brouillette) Morin.  Cremation has taken place.  At Henri’s request no service will be held.  Arrangements entrusted to T.  Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. Wiles, Charles Claire of Sarnia

Peacefully at Twin Lakes Terrace on Thursday July 31, 2014 CHARLES CLAIRE WILES age 80 of Sarnia.  Beloved husband for 59 years to Marcella (Bolton) Wiles.  Loving father of  Robert Charles and his wife Carol, Sue Potvin and husband Mike, Doug Wiles and his fiancée Deb Nutt and Bill Wiles and partner  Danielle.  Cherished grandfather of Kelly, Jeff,  Craig, Stephanie (Mark), Shawn (Cherilyn), Heather and  David.  Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Joyce Wiles, a brother-in-law Bert Bolton and his wife Judy and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Charles and Marjorie (Leckie) Wiles, a sister Louise Dixon and her husband Bill, a brother Ken Wiles, a grandson Bryan and  Kelly’s husband Les Burnard,   Chuck retired from Polysar after 37 years of service and enjoyed his bowling and was fortunate enough to bowl a 300 game.  Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery on Wednesday August 6th at 11:00 a.m.  Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Diabetes, Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements entrusted to the D. HinchPassed away peacefully on Monday, July 7,2014, at WRH-Met Campus, at the age of 73. Born in Windsor, daughter of the late Clifford & Florence Boughner. Reunited with her beloved husband Ronald Wallace Hinch (1991). Loving mother of Catherine Burr & husband Daniel, David Hinch & wife Carrie, and Bradley Hinch. Proud and loving grandmother of Sean Grundy, Robert Grundy, Melissa Anne Hinch, Lauren Hinch, Joshua Hinch, Jessica Chiasson, Jonathon Platten, and Mikayla Platten and great grandmother of Kairi and Aveah Hinch. Dear sister of Steven Boughner (Carol) and James Boughner (Susan). Patricia was the loving human of Jesse the cat. She is remembered by several nieces, nephews, and friends. Patricia was a founding associate of the Windsor-Essex Canadian Mental Health Foundation and proudly sang with the Sweet Adeline’s for many years. Pennings, Henriette (Hennie) Johanna (Noordam) of R.R. 1 Belmont, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of 59 years of Christian (John) Pennings and dearly loved mother of   Bernie Pennings (Ina) of Iona, Margaret Jonkman (Cope) of Harrisburg, Ray Pennings (Kathy) of Calgary and Rosemary Koomans (Brian) of Chatham.  Loved grandmother of 20   grandchildren 23  great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by a grandson Andrew Pennings (1987). Dearly loved sister the late Joanne Vandeelpiepers (late Albert), Harry Noordam (Wilma) of St. Thomas, Paul Noordam ( late Willie) of Chatham, Henk Noordam (Marianne) of St. Thomas, Karl Noordam (Tina) of British Columbia, Cor Noordam (Gail) of Bowmanville and Walter Noordam (Yvonne) of Sarnia. Also missed by her 16 Pennings in-laws. Henriette was born in Gravenzande, The Netherlands on September 19, 1935, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Arndt) Noordam. She was a R.N.A. at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital from 1964-1986. Among her many activities, she sold books for Reformed Book Services. Henriette was also an active community volunteer. She also farmed with her husband. Henriette was a member of the Free Reformed Church, St. Thomas.

The family will receive friends at the Free Reformed Church on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014  from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  St. Thomas.  The funeral service will be held at the Free Reformed Church 145 St. George St., St. Thomas on Monday  at 11:00 a.m. Private interment  in Elmdale Cemetery. Ward, DouglasWARD, Doug – Passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer on Monday, July 28th, 2014 at the John Gordon Home in his 51st year. Born in Hamilton, he lived most of his life in London. Doug lived each day to the max and without regret. He was a gifted roofer and renovator. Doug was always out and about the neighbourhood on his bicycle or scooter, stopping by to chat with friends. A true free spirit. He will be missed. No visitation or funeral. Pettit, Donald Leslie of St. Thomas passed away on Wednesday, July 30th, 2014, at the L.H.S.C. (Victoria Campus), in his 49th year. Loved son of Fred Fleming of St. Thomas and  Judith Kitchenham and her husband Terry of St. Thomas. Loved father of Devan, Donald Jr. and Travis. Dearly loved brother of Angela Pettit, Daniel Pettit, Diane Fleming and Donna Fleming. Loved grandfather of Destiny Pettit. Sadly missed by his loving 4 legged companion Budweiser. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Don was born in St. Thomas on July 13, 1966.

Whistlecraft, Inez of Port Stanley, passed away at her late residence, on Monday, July 28th, 2014, at her late residence, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Fehrman and  dear mother of Lynn Marie Gardner, Nancy Jaros and Robert Gardner. Inez was born in Elgin County on January 8th, 1921.
