LALONDE, FelixIt is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 at the age of 80 years.  Beloved husband of Annette (née Lapierre) Lalonde of Sudbury.  Son of the late Xavier and the late Florentine (née Larocque) Lalonde.  Loving father of Pierrôt (Patricia) of Sudbury, Marc Lalonde (Sharon) of Dieppe, N. B., Rose-Anne Lalonde (Guy) of Ottawa and Colette Lalonde of Sudbury.  Dear brother of Maria Spencer (late Aldège), Stella Lapointe (Raymond) and Alfred Lalonde (Monique).  Predeceased by his siblings Philippe, Noël, Xyste, Gracia and Léandre.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Nicole, Jennifer, Julie-Anne, Kevin, Jean-Robert, Marie-Mai, Marc and by his great-grandchildren Chase, Adrian, Phoenix, Katie, Andrew and step-grandchild Cassie.  Félix was a member of the Club Amicale of Sudbury.  He also did volunteer work for the St-Dominique Church and the Extendicare Falconbridge.  In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St-Dominique Church, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. HERTEL, ReginaIn loving memory of Regina Hertel, 76 years, who passed away peacefully on Friday evening September 27, 2013 at Maison Vale Hospice.  Loving wife to Siegfried.  Dear mother to Monica Phillips (David) and son Thomas.  Reggie came to Canada from Germany in 1961 and worked as a draftsperson for the City of Sudbury until 1971 when she retired to become a stay at home Mom.  She was lucky enough to be able to return to a drafting position in 1987 with the Regional Municipality of Sudbury where she worked until her official retirement in 2001.  She was an avid gardener and along with Siggy, her husband of 52 years, spent her retirement planting and tending her extensive flower gardens at the home they built together in Long Lake. At Reggie’s request, there will be no visitation.  A gathering for family and friends to honour her memory will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Long Lake branch, 220 Long Lake Road, Sudbury on Thursday October 3, 2013 between 1 and 4pm.  A special thank you to the exceptional doctors and nurses at the Northern Ontario Cancer Care Centre and Maison Vale Hospice for their exemplary compassion and care during this difficult time. Beloved husband of Carol and loving father to Jeremy and his wife Josie.  Dearly loved son of Margaret (Peggy) and the late Allan Wicker. Much loved brother of Marilyn Nigh and her husband David of Waterloo. Will be sadly missed by his niece Laura and nephew Peter and great-nieces and nephews, Katie, Ryan, David, Eric and Sophia.  Dearest nephew of Kay Thompson. Barry was a well respected businessman and member of the Port Dover community; he was the owner/operator of Wicker & Son Insurance Brokers since 1963, which his father Allan started in 1931. In 1995 he was joined by his son Jeremy and his wife Josie. In his retirement, Barry rediscovered his love of fishing and spent many hours trying to land the big one. Barry was also a longtime member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Kennedy, Kyle0001KENNEDY: Kyle Frederick – Surrounded by his family , Kyle lost his courageous battle with cancer at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the age of 88. Born and raised in Ridgetown, Kyle was the son of the late Frederick George & Margaret Edna (Campbell) Kennedy. He will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley, his children Anne and Jim, granddaughter Lauren and special four legged friend Koda. Survived by sister-in-law Jessie Welch-Cutler, brother-in-law Alan Varney (Audrey), and sister-in-law Mary Helen Verlaan (Bill). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Kyle had a passionate love for all sports up until the end. He was scouted by the St Louis Cardinals to play professional baseball, played basketball and was part of the winning team for the Senior A Championships for Ontario.  Upon returning home, after his service to the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II, he organized Little League Baseball, played and coached hockey and was a former Director and President of Ridgetown Golf and Country Club. He was a partner with his wife in Kennedy and Kennedy Real Estate for over 40 years. Kyle was a 68 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a member of the Howard Lodge No. #391, Ridgetown and the MOCHA Shrine Club for over 60 years. Beloved husband of Janja (née Knezic) for 57 years. Loving father of Dan (Lorie) and Marko. Adoring and adored “Jedo” of Mikhial and Nicholas. Dearly missed by brothers Branko (Trojana), Djuro, Dusan (Jovanka), Radomoir (Ivka); his sister Dragica (Robert); and by his numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family both in Canada and abroad: he treasured them all. A proud Canadian since immigrating in 1951 and lifelong Maple Leafs fan, and Team Canada supporter, Mirko never shied away from striking up a conversation with a friendly face which served him well throughout his life, in particular during his days as a letter carrier for Canada Post. Bob, dearly beloved husband to Lynne, his wife of 36 years and an amazing father and mentor to his children, Jessica & Ryan. Bob was a loyal brother to Tom & Dan Browne. He was an irreplaceable uncle to Michelle, Katie, John, Julia, David, Erica, Connor, Scott and Alysha. He was a hard working and dedicated man who lived his life to the fullest. Long time employee of Knights Appleden Fruit Ltd. of Wicklow. Peacefully, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, on Sunday, October 6, 2013, in her 66th year after a brief valiant battle with cancer. Doris, beloved wife of the late Arthur Warner; loving mother of Andrew (Jannet), Brenda (Gary Stevenson), Christopher (Mary-Jane), David (Martha), Virginia (the late Terry Stevenson); grandmother of 9 grandchildren. Doris will also be sadly missed by all her brothers and sisters-in-law of the Warner family and by her co-workers.
Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life to be held at the Keeler Centre in Colborne, Saturday, October 12th from 2 – 4 p.m. The family wishes to thank Dr. Moorson and staff of the palliative care unit at Northumberland Hills Hospital for all their kindness and special care given to Doris during her stay. Born in Chatham, Bill was the son of the late James & Margaret (Ransom) Leatherdale. Beloved husband of 51 years to Joan (nee Pease). Loving father of Joannie Cathleen Wonnacott of Chatham, Joe Leatherdale (Louise) of Corunna and Regan Pemberton (Gary) of Victoria B.C. Beloved grandfather of Brandyn, Sara, Carl, Amanda, Kevin, Phifer, Ellis and Micah. Kuri, Alli webPassed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on October 10, 2013 in her 85th year.  Born in Alajarvi, Finland on September 20, 1929.  Alli has many relatives in Alajarvi and Lapua Finland and Thunder Bay, Ontario.  She is predeceased by her husband Henrich and survived by son Allan.  Alli and Henry operated a fruit farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake since 1962.

Alli’s family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (Niagara Stone Rd., Niagara-on-the-Lake) on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
