CONSTANTINEAU, MarionMarion passed away peacefully December 26, 2014 in Sudbury surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Julian Constantineau of Markstay. Daughter of the late Robert and the late Tim (née Prieur) McKerral. Loving mother of Keith Constantineau (Monique) of Val Caron.   Sadly missed by her grandchildren Megan and Kyle Constantineau and her great-grandson Eli. Dear sister of the late Linda (late Guilles) Gauthier, Raymond (Janet), Richard (Marlene), Ernie (Kathy), Ken (Rita), Dan (Jackie), Mary (Rene) Savarie, Stan (Maureen) and Bob (Sue). Lovingly remembered by 21 nieces and nephews, 34 great nieces and nephews, 4 great-great nieces and nephews as well as many relatives and friends. Marion was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend to many. Her home was known as the coffee shop, friends and family were always welcome to drop by. In memory of Marion’s lively spirit, the family invites everyone to dress casually in her favorite colours pink, red and blue. She loved to cook, prepared amazing meals, playing cribbage and defeating her husband at cards. She was also a member of C.W.L. for 15 years. SLATER, SusanIn her sixtieth year called home to enter into the joy of her Lord and Saviour. Born in Toronto March 5, 1955. Promoted to heaven at the Maison Vale Hospice on December 21, 2014. Exceptionally loving wife of Andrew Slater, married May 31, 1991. Extraordinary mother of Jonathan Cole Slater (May 5, 1993) and Joel Emerson Joseph Slater (August 28, 1994). Predeceased by her father Ray Herbert Jacobs. Survived by her mother Caroline Jacobs and siblings Rae Ellen Edmunds (Rick), John Jacobs, Tim Jacobs (Andrea), Leslie Jane Jacobs and Christine Smith (Les). Sue graduated from Laurentian University with a (Hons.) B.S.W. and was a social worker before attending Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. She practiced as a family law lawyer in Sudbury and was appreciated by her clients as a loving, compassionate and articulate advocate of their cause. Notwithstanding her career, her true character shone forth as a home maker and mother. She put her career on hold for 15 years while she nurtured and home schooled her sons before returning to the practice of law in her fifties. Sue was always actively engaged in her church, serving in various capacities, her first love being her Lord. Sue was incredibly gifted and creative as a producer of fine quilts. This became a passion of hers and the many who received a quilt from her appreciated her talent and the warmth of her heart. More recently she took up knitting wool socks, warming the feet as well as the heart of many. Her desire was to be a Proverbs 31 woman and to assist younger women to aspire to that goal. “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels” (Proverbs 31:10). Beloved wife of the late Murray Shaver and loved mother of Jean Zsolt (Late Andrew) of Toronto, Mary Shaver of Toronto, Evelyn MacNicol (Hugh) of Toronto, Catherine Thompson (Jan) of Burlington, Helen Shaver (Steve) of Vancouver Island, BC, and Margaret Kay (Stephen) of Peterborough.  Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dear sister of Mary Rodgers of Peterborough and Yvonnne Sell (Joe) of Edmonton, AB; sister-in-law of Rose Shaver of St. Thomas and Stewart Henderson of Kent, WA. Predeceased by her four brothers, Alvin, Bernard, Albert and Theodore and her three sisters, Aleta, Frances and Helen. Doris was born in Victoria Harbour on August 31st, 1913, daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Brunault) Cadeau. She was a long time member of Holy Angels’ Catholic Church in St. Thomas and was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League as well as an active volunteer in the St. Thomas Community. She was also a member of St. Basil’s Parish in Toronto.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels’ Catholic Church, 502 Talbot Street, St. Thomas on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at 1:00pm. Jessie was born on April 11, 1922 in Dundee, Scotland and moved to London, Ontario at the age of 7 and lived most of her life in Sarnia and Bright’s Grove. She was the dear mother of Bonnie Yates and Carl Yates and his wife Christine and loving grandmother of Christopher Burley (Teena), Sherryl Burley Marcoux, Jeffrey Yates (Nicole) and Jonathan Yates and great-grandmother (GG) of Jacob, Hayden, and Gavin Marcoux, Yazmine, Zander, Quinlan and Declan Burley, Alex, Dom, Brittany and Andrew Goudrault. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Yates in 1992, her brother Robert Philip (Rose) and sister Mina (Bill) Taylor. Jessie had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party! She spent most of her working career in the women’s retail clothing business and her retirement winters in Fort Myers and Ruskin Florida. Jessie will be missed by all. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A celebration of Jessie’s life will take place on February 8th, 2015 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, 500 Errol Rd. AudreyCarruthers, Audrey Mae (nee McLean) – Peacefully at Grove Park Home, Barrie with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. Audrey age 85 years, beloved wife of Walter Carruthers for 65 years. Loving mother of Wendy Booey (Hal) and Scott (Catherine). Loving grandmother of Amber, Sarah, Preston, Troy and one great grandchild yet to be born. Dear sister of Orma Trask (Emmy), Shirley Norman (Barry), the late Ron McLean (the late Joyce), Gary McLean (the late Margaret). Also loved by many nieces and nephews. A family celebration of life will take place in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Barrie. Lyn SmithSmith, Lyn Peter – Passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Royal Victoria Hospital  in his 71st year, with his family by his side.  Beloved husband of Judy Smith, and Dad to Corry (Roger), Tim (Paula), Todd Smith and Poppa to his 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.   Brother of Marilyn Leigh, Judy Mandley, Donna Boyd, and Ken Smith (Shirley),  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Life will be held January 17th, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sheba Shrine Hall, 142 John Street, Barrie.  The family has requested no flowers.  Donations in Lyn’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Marlene was born in Windsor, Ontario on October 5, 1935 and passed away in Simcoe, Ontario on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Jack (John McFadden) (2010) for over 50 years. Marlene is survived by her children Wendy McFadden-Smith (Brian), Kenneth McFadden (Eva) and Karen Fess (Randy). Loving grandma of Donavan (Victoria) and Lucas McFadden, Rachael and Sarah Smith, and Emily, Joshua and Jedd Fess. Recently, Marlene celebrated the birth of her first great-grandchild Everett John McFadden. Predeceased by her parents, Freeman and Laura Bastien. Dearest sister of the late Shirley VanLare, the late Norma Graveline, the late Garfield Bastien, Don Bastien (Bernice Goudreau), the late Ray Bastien, late Larry Bastien (Sharon), Jackie Tullo (Carlo) and Gil Bastien (Suzanne Quenneville). Marlene will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Marlene attended Patterson Collegiate in the secretarial program. She worked in many local banks for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and baking butter tarts for everyone. She was a devoted pet owner to her beagle (Benji) and enjoyed walking him and visiting with neighbors. Marlene and Jack spent many years traveling from coast to coast in their trusty motor home. The family of Marlene McFadden wishes to thank the staff of Anson Place in Hagersville, as well as the staff at Norfolk General Hospital for their care and compassion. Beloved husband of the late Catherine “Grace” McPherson (nee McCallum). Dear father of Dan (Sharon) McPherson and Jim (Deb) McPherson. Loving grandfather of Sarah Clarke, Amy (Eric) Cole, Karrie (Barry) McFeeters, Jessica (Marcus) Eberle and Danielle McPherson and 9 great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Dorothy Walker. She was the beloved wife of the late Philippe Sr. Pharand; the daughter of the late Éloie Despatie and of the late Antoinette Lapointe; the loving mother of Philippe Jr. (late Ghislaine Miner, Rachelle Blais), Thérèse (late Charles Bélanger), Marjolaine (Roger Tessier), Bruno, Oscar (Lorraine), Adrien, Diane (Guy Brunet), Georgette (late Gilles Ranger), Aline (André Meloche), Lise, Johanne (late Jean-Guy Bissonnette), Louise and Lorraine (Mario Laliberté); the adored grandmother of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a grandson Carl that she took under her wing at a young age. She was predeceased by a son Gérald, a daughter Lucienne and her brothers and sisters. Also survived by a brother-in-law Jean-Guy Pharand from St-Catherines, Ontario also by many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Farrell, Lucy Mary (nee Court) of Barrie, Ontario

LucyFarrellFARRELL, Lucy Mary (nee Court) passed away peacefully at Simcoe Terrace Retirement Centre, on January 7th, 2015 in her 87th year. Lucy was born April 12th 1928 in Birmingham England. Moving with her family to Timmins Ontario as an infant, it was in Timmins that she grew, studied, and eventually married Keith Farrell on June 12th 1951. Lucy is survived by her sister, Edna, her children Bruce (Marjan) of Moonstone, Janice (Phil Hendry) of Saanichton, B.C. and James (Ken Blair) of Medicine Hat, AB. Lucy also leaves fond memories with her many step grand, great-grand and great-great-grand children, nieces, nephews and a wonderfully supportive community of friends at Grace United Church where a Memorial Service for her will be Conducted by The Reverend Sue Eagle on Monday, January 12th at 11am. A very special thank you to all the staff of Simcoe Terrace who very lovingly created a warm home for mom for more than 9 years that unquestionably extended the length and quality of her life.
