13303 Stillman 3STILLMAN, Donald Albert “Don” – Retired mechanic, Outboard Marine.  Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Friday, December 20, 2013, in his 81st year.  Don was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Mitchell) for 55 years.  Dear father of Heather Hickey (Greg), Susan Ketcheson (Shawn) and Keith Stillman (Pattie).  Loving Grandpa of Mandy and Jay Hill, Krista and Shawna Ketcheson, Melissa Mayer (Kevin), and Dustin and Kelsey Stillman.  Great grandfather of six.  Brother of Roy (Isabel), Ken (Bette) and Jim (Mary).  He will also be remembered by many other friends and relatives.  Don was a quiet man who could, and would fix anything for anyone who asked.  A keen fisherman and skilled worker in stained glass.  An active member of St. James United Church and a member of the Fife’s Cemetery Board.  Don derived great satisfaction working on his family tree and visiting extended family to obtain their family background.  A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at ST. IVILL, Mrs. Lillian (nee MacKenzie), of the Valleyview Home, St. Thomas, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in her 103rd year.  Wife of the late Tom Ivill (1954).  Dearly loved mother of Ann Skafel (late John) of St. Thomas, and Margaret Hanel (late Gregory) of Mississauga.  Cherished grandmother of Andrew Skafel (Laurie), and Paul Skafel (Betsey), all of Ottawa.  Proud great grandmother of Emmett, Owen, and Aaron Skafel.  Her brother, Frank MacKenzie predeceased her.  Born in Toronto, ON, November 24, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Agnes (nee Scott) MacKenzie.  Lillian came to St. Thomas from Kitchener in 1989.  She was a Presbyterian by faith.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and private interment will be made in Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto.  Memorial donations to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).

clare rogers 98ROGERS, Clare W., of St. Thomas, formerly of R.R.#2, Belmont, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his residence, Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, in his 90th year.  Beloved husband for 61 years to the late Mildred (nee Mills) Rogers (2010).  Dearly loved father of Norman Rogers and his wife Wendy of Kitchener.  Also survived by 4 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald Clare Rogers, a sister, Muriel Smith, a brother, Glenn Rogers, and by a grandson.  Born in Gladstone, ON, October 17, 1924, he was the son of the late Lorin and Irene (nee Manning) Rogers.  Clare farmed for many years at R.R.#2, Belmont.  He also formerly was a bus driver for Charterways Ltd., London and a truck driver for Brantox Trucking, London.  He formerly attended Yarmouth Centre United Church.  The funeral service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519) 631-1160 on Monday, December 30th  at 11:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.  Interment in Dorchester Union Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully acknowledged.

Loving mother of Paul (Edith), Kevin (Elpidia) and Brendan (the late Sheila). Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Luke, Tatiana, Juan, Jeronimo. Predeceased by her grandson David. Dear sister of Biddy, Theresa, Ita, Claire, and predeceased by her sisters Mary, Nora and her brother Dan. Dearly missed by her co-workers and her extended family in Canada and Ireland. Amelia was born in Kilshanny County Clare, Ireland. She was a nurse in both Welland and Hillsdale Manor in Oshawa, until her retirement in 1994, after which she actively divided her time between world travels, activities with the Catholic Women’s League, and living year round at the family cottage on Belmont Lake. Amelia had a quick wit, and keen sense of humour. She touched many lives during her time and was loved by all. Visitation will take place at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King E, Oshawa) on Sunday December 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Robert “Wayne” Murray, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at home in Hanover on Tuesday, December 24, 2013.   He was 72.

Born on July 29, 1941 in Wingham, Ontario. Wayne was a Purchasing Supervisor for Ontario Hydro until his retirement.

Survived by loving wife and best friend Gail (nee Tremaine) Murray of Hanover, sons Stephen (Susan) Murray of Angus and Michael (Joanne) Murray of Port Elgin. He was adored by his grandchildren Travis, Courtney, Shealin and Jacinta Murray. Dearly loved son of Jean Murray of Walkerton and sister-in-law Connie Tremaine of Toronto.  Predeceased by his father Robert Murray.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, January 03, 2014 at 11:30 am, at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.

Albert Peter Becker, of RR#2 Walkerton, passed away peacefully at SBGHC, Walkerton on Wednesday, December 25, 2013.  He was 82.

Born in Neustadt on February 19, 1931 to the late Harvey and Marie (nee Emil) Becker. Albert was self employed as a painter.

Survived by his brothers and sisters Marina Zettel, Ruby Monk, Bernice (Lloyd) Klein, Jean Litt all of Hanover, Clarence (Joyce) Becker of Stoney Creek, Robert (Sharon) Becker of Sauble Beach, Gerard (Dorothy) Becker of Guelph, Rita (Red) Deeves of Pike Lake, Dorothy Walters of Hanover. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sister Marcella Reich and brothers Norman and Harvey Jr. Becker.

WEB_Jessop_MaryPassed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2013 at 90 years of age.  Beloved wife of the late Carson (1969).  Loving daughter of the late Fred and Catherine Austin.  Dear sister of the late Rita and Art Brousseau, David and Vera Austin (Hamilton), Eileen Austin, Helen and the late Robert Morkin, The late Jane Austin, Jim and Patricia Austin (London), Anne and Dan Ruddy (New Jersey), Catherine Austin.  She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.  Mary’s wish was to be at home during her final days surrounded by the love of her family.  Special thanks to Dr. Chevalier, the nurses and personal support workers of CCAC for their care and compassion in fulfilling Mary’s wish.  If you so desire, donations to  Holy Name of Mary Food Bank C/O Frank Chauvin or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Visiting Sunday 2-5pm and 7-9pm.  Prayers Sunday 3:30pm.  Funeral Monday leaving 9:45 am from Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. Adored mother of Joanne and husband Luciano Daniele, Isabella and husband Claudio Pizzo. Loving Nonna of Lucas and Jordan Daniele and Adriana and Adam Pizzo. Former spouse of Luigi DiGioia. Survived by her sister Mafalda (Montreal) predeceased by sister Gambelina (Montreal). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Windsor and Montreal. Her passion was her family who she adored and loved. Italia was a dedicated retired employee at Grace Hospital for many years. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Huron Lodge for their care and compassion. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. web_O'Neil, WilliamIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful man on Christmas day 2013. He is finally reunited with his beloved Alva (2011) in heaven. He will be missed by his two daughters who were very special to him, Janet Bezaire and Nancy Holdsworth and his son-in-laws Leo and Perry. Loving Grampie of Kyle and Nathan. Survived by his sister Barbara Burton and predeceased by five siblings. During his 91 years, he served in WW II with the Royal Canadian Navy and retired from Canada Customs after 35 years service. Past Master of Masonic Lodge AM & AF #402, member of Shriners and RCL #594. He was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church. If you so desire, donations can be made to St. Stephen’s Anglican Church or to Hospice of Windsor. Visitation Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm with Veteran’s Memorial Service at 7pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall South Windsor. Dear brother to Catherine,  Peggy and predeceased by brothers Angus, Bill and sister Johan. Dear brother-in-law to Connie Panton. John served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was on the Sandwich West Police and then moved to the Windsor Fire Department for 35 years, retiring as District Chief. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active at the HMCS Hunter as well as the former President of the KAYAHARA Judo Club. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place.
