At her late residence on Thursday, April 2, 2015 of London in her 65th year.  Beloved wife of the late Brian Ellis.  Dear mother of Chris and Lynnette Ellis, and Cynthia (Cindy) Ellis both of London.  Dear grandmother of Shawn, Trinity; Brook, Ryan, Brian, Cody, Shea and step-grandmother of Amanda and Brandon.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mike and Sharon Gosden, Sue Gosden, and Mark Gosden all of the United States, Marlene Braund of London, Sherrie and Bob Crone of Corunna, Rick Ellis of London, Mark and Deb Ellis of Woodham, Jim and Jean Ellis of Mount Brydges, and Dan Ellis of Windsor.  Predeceased by an infant daughter Angela, a brother Dan, and a sister Pat.  Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Moreland editedPassed away peacefully at Westmount Gardens on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 in her 98th year.  Velma Larine Woodrow was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario on October 24th, 1917, daughter of the late Nellie and Charles Woodrow.  Velma was the beloved wife of the late Clifton Moreland (1994) for 56 years.  Cherished and loved mother of Jeannette Van Meerbergen (Guido), Ronald Moreland (Denise), all of London, and Joyce Birnstihl (Keith), of New Hamburg.  Cherished Grandmother to Paul (Linda) Van Meerbergen, Katherine (Steve) Ilines, Patrick (Susan) Van Meerbergen, Peter (Lissa) Van Meerbergen, Lisa (Chris) Wright, Darren (Nicola) Moreland, Rob (Lisa) Moreland, Christopher (Margaret) Moreland, Michael (Teri) Bennett and Kelly (James) Bijl, and to 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Survived by her sisters Grace Harriman, of Niagara Falls, Joyce Whiteside, of Clinton, and sisters-in-law Jean Hamilton and Lula Vansickle.  Velma was predeceased by her siblings Clara Brunt, Nellie Watts, Christina Bechard, Charles, Clyde and Berton Woodrow, and by her son-in-law Douglas Bennett.  The family wish to extend many heartfelt thanks to Dr. Birch and the staff at Westmount Gardens for the loving care that our mother received during her final years.  Family and friends are invited to share a time of visitation on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 6th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior.  Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Velma’s memory may be made to the Children’s Health Foundation (for Paediatric Cardiology), the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Paraplegic Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Peacefully, surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Hospice, on Thursday, April 2, 2015.  The son of William and Cecilia Soper, born October 21, 1919 in Alvinston.  Loving husband of the late Marion Wade (1993) and late Nadine Shortt (2004 ), Father of Gloria Aitken (Bill), Alberta, Bette Cook (John) Sarnia, Stepfather to Robb (Carol) Huff Petrolia and Randy (Dianne) Shortt,  Oil Springs, late Pat Massie 2007 and their families.  Cherished grandfather of Lynn, April, Marion and Billy Great Grandfather of Becky, Jamie, Wyatt, Joey, Leanne and Jonathon.  For 35 years Joe worked at Imperial Oil as a Pipe fitter.  He was an avid softball, football player and coach; member of the Lambton Imperials, inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame.  Joe was a lifelong member of Laurel Lea St. Mathews Church, an avid golfer and for many years a volunteer driver with the Children’s Aid. It is with great sadness that we announce that our mother, Maxine Campbell, wife of the late Robert (Bob) Campbell (2005), has passed, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 82 at Bluewater Health CEE. Mother of Todd (Lindsaye), Hal (Diana),Wendy McManus (Keith) and Joel (Jodi), grandmother of Luke Campbell, Shana Carol (Daniel), Megan Buttery (Paul), Amanda and Adam McManus, Maxwell and Molly Campbell. She was a greatgrandmother to Arianna Carol and Clara Buttery. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Harriett Hastings, sisters Helen Clark and Shirley Cole. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed making one-of-a-kind clothing ensembles, knitting, tatting and quilt making. She much enjoyed hosting family celebrations, participating in Mandaumin United Church activities and UCW and was especially keen on attending the many euchre parties around Sarnia. She loved to travel on mystery road trips with Bob and Saturday night dances at the Wyoming Legion. She was an active member and Past President of the Imperial Oil Annuitants club. She was a generous soul with a loving, kind nature and loved to reminisce about the rich history of Sarnia. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Butler and the many kind nurses at Bluewater Health CEE. Alexander (Cheryl) Gray, Christine (Robert) Cunningham, James (Lisa) Gray, Barbara (Brendan) Mulroy, William (Irma) Gray and Barry (Veronique) Gray. Also Survived by step-mother, Eileen Gray, long time family friend, Jean Pyke, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special aunt to Kathryn Wakely and Joanne Abbott. Maggie graduated from Toronto General Hospital, School of Nursing and enjoyed a successful professional career in Sarnia, San Francisco, Denver, San Diego and Florida, making many lasting friendships along the way. Maggie was very appreciative of the care she received from Dr. Glen Maddison and Dr. Alison Crombeen, and the staff at Rosewood Manor, CCAC, palliative care, Bluewater Health and St. Joseph’s Hospice. At Maggie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held at a future date. Beloved wife of Edward Allin. Loving mother of Lance (Faye); Darrell (Kasia); Blair (Muriel) and the late Shawn. Daughter of the late J. Leonard and Christina (nee Law) Chapman of Montreal. Dear sister to Christine (Glen) Norris of North Vancouver and Karen (Pat) McDermott of Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Beth Ann (Doug) MacLeod and their children Scott and William; daughter-in-law Marian, mother of grandson Chase and granddaughter Lyric Allin. Loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Janet was an active member of the Sears Retirees and Curves, she actively participated in The Relay for Life as a Survivor. It is with sadness the family announces the death of Trudy (G.N.) Young on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Trudy was a registered nurse, who worked in various capacities throughout her professional career.  She was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church; involved for many years with the Sunday school and outreach programs.  Due to many moves, homes had to be created wherever work took the family.  This was a labour of love for Trudy as nourishing her husband and sons was always a high priority.  Dear daughter of the late Florence and Kenneth Brown of R.R. 1 Mooretown.  Beloved wife of the late Bob (C. Robert) Young. Loving mother of Rob (Sara), Ric (the late Julia) and Reg (Lynn). Loved brother of Brienne Hicks and Amanda Hicks. Donna ConnollyCONNOLLY – Donna Marie (nee Shelton) of Dutton, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle, on April 1, 2015 at the age of 71.  Beloved wife of Mervin Connolly;  loving mother to Laurie Danowski (Carm Augustyn) of Campbellville, Joseph Danowski of London, Rob Danowski (Lisa Paddon) of London, Nicole (Jeff) Allen of St. Thomas, Corinne Connolly of London; cherished grandmother of Jason Allen, Ava Allen, Alex Connolly; and lifelong friend of 67 years to Pat Wise.  Donna had retired from Goodlife Fitness head office, and in her spare time enjoyed a good game of golf at her home club of Dutton Meadows.  Donna was an honest and caring woman who dearly loved her family.  She will be greatly missed.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  A Celebration of Donna’s Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Donnybrook Branch 513 in Dorchester on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  Interment of ashes at a later date.  If desired, donations to Cancer Research or an animal rescue of your choice would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.shawnjacksonfuneralhome.com.

Ronald TugwoodTUGWOOD – Ronald James Tugwood of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on April 1, 2015 at the age of 85.  Ron is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; his loving children Carman (Wendy) Tugwood, Rhonda (Russ) Fish, Heather (Wayne) Honeywood, Kevin (Teresa) Tugwood, and Lorraine (Paul) Baughman; by his 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; by his brother Raymond Tugwood; sisters-in-law Esther (Vince) Brant, Evelyn (Cal) Sparks, Brenda (Norm) Doherty, Ruth (Arthur) Pfefferle; and by many other nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Harry and Florence Tugwood; his brothers Skip, Robert, Harry, and Jerry; his sister Margerite Moon; and by his brother-in-law Paul Brant.  Ron was a Veteran, having proudly served his country with the Royal Canadian Regiment for 3 years and with the Merchant Navy for 5 years.  He worked most of his life for CP Rail, where he retired at the age of 60.  Ron also managed the St. Thomas Curling Club for 16 years, worked at the St. Thomas Golf & Country Club and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Lord Elgin Branch 41.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.  A Memorial Service will take place at St. Michael and All Angels Parish, 397 Springbank Drive, London on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00pm.  If desired, donations to Epilepsy Foundation or MS Society would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.shawnjacksonfuneralhome.com.

KEITH, Leon Herbie

???????????????????????????????Keith, Leon H. – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leon Keith on Tuesday March 31, 2015. Leon was born in Canaan Forks, New Brunswick on February 21, 1931 and has called Niagara his home since 1953.  He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Irvine) and sons Kevin (Kelli), Shawn (Darlene), Randall (John) and Todd (Annette).  Special Grampie of Jessica Huzyk (Kyle), Rory, Connor and Danika, Leon was thrilled with the arrival of great granddaughter Isabella in 2014.  He will be dearly missed by sisters Ruby Hicks (Ron) and Hattie Perry (Clarke), brothers Fred (Kitty), Gene (Janice), Hal (Faith) and Jim, sister-in-law Sandra Irvine and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He is predeceased by his parents Dorothy & Harold Keith and sisters Eva and Vera. Leon was well known throughout the Niagara Community.  He was Vice-President and General Manager at Swagelok Canada until his retirement and was a Charter member and past President of the Stamford Kiwanis Club.  Leon was an active member of First Baptist Church, Pettit Ave in Niagara Falls where he was a Deacon and served on the Board of Management.  After his retirement, he worked with the Business Development Bank in St. Catharines and with Human Resources Development Canada.  He volunteered with the Niagara Training Adjustment Board and with many Kiwanis events.

Cremation has taken place.  Leon’s family will receive friends at St. Andrew’s United Church, 5645 Morrison St., Niagara Falls on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 11-12 with a memorial service following immediately at noon.  Leon was well known for putting the needs of others before himself, so in lieu of flowers, the family would be honoured if donations were made to Tender Wishes or the Niagara Nutrition Partners.

Died suddenly on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in his 92nd year. Bill of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Donna for over 65 years. Loving father of David and Wendy. Dear brother of the late Frank, the late Audrey Menard, James (Brenda), Norma (William Vigh), Jack (Jan), the late Gord (Marlene), George (Bev), Edith (Edward Brash) and Leonard (Sheila). He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Bill was a jovial and youthful man who befriended everyone. He was a 28 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 262 – Elmvale, founding member of the Wasaga Woodworking Club, recipient of the Order of Wasaga Beach, was an avid birder and a rescuer of dogs. He has left an indelible mark on his community.
