Peacefully, on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Marshall Gowland Manor, Donald Dukes passed away at the age of 81. Beloved husband and best friend of Lorna Dukes for 59 years. Loving father of Christine (Roger) Brunton and Paul Clive Dukes. Dear brother-in-law of Peter (Sheila) Halford. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Alice Dukes. Donald was born in England and moved to Canada with his family in 1967.  He was a member of the Sarnia Lambton Kiwanis Club and an avid tennis player. Donald was a retiree of Dow Chemical where he worked for 26 years. A special thank you to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Iris, loving wife of the late Archie Long, and loving mother to Eric Perry of Winnipeg, Susan (Howard Burnside) Long, and Jane (Will) Wolfraim of Peterborough. Iris was also the devoted grandma of Bradley Cunningham Long (Sandra), Andrew Daniel Stromberg (Olivia Kellough), and the great grandma of both Avielle and Iris. HORSTwebHorst Karl Gwinner, of R#2 Walkerton, passed away suddenly in Fort McMurray, Alberta  on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.   He was 64.

Born in Rottenburg, Germany on July 28th, 1950 to the late Ernst and Elisabeth (nee Reiger) Gwinner. Horst was employed with Local Union 527 Plumbers and Steam fitters. Horst loved to feel the wind in his face as he rode his bike with many friends. Live Strong and Ride Free.

Survived by loving wife Suzanne (nee Stogel) Gwinner of R#2 Walkerton, son Andrew McLay of Kitchener and sister in law Ricki Germann of Pike Bay. He will be missed by his cousins and extended family both here and in Germany. Horst will be remembered by all his biker family. Predeceased by his parents, sister in law Gudrun Perin and by his Aunt Gertude and Uncle Peter.

WEPPLER-WEBRoy Weppler, of RR#4 Hanover, passed away suddenly at LHSC-Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, September 13, 2014.  He was 68.

Born on April 29, 1946 in Carrick Township to the late Norman and Adeline (nee Baetz) Weppler. Roy was self employed as an Electrician.

Survived by loving wife Kathleen (nee Blasing) of Hanover, daughter Ashley (Jeremy) Roseborough and father in law David Blasing both of Hanover. Fondly remembered by sisters Ruth Schlorff of Chesley, Madeline (Carl) Flood of P.E.I., Eileen Fischer of Wingham, Doris (Keith) Lerch of Guelph, brother in law Robert (Patricia) Blasing of Bradford, sister in law Carol Weppler and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Allan and his wife Julie Weppler, Walter and his first wife Marlene, brother in laws Harold Schlorff, Art Fischer, Dennis Blasing and mother in law Edith Blasing.

Passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday September 13, 2014. Charlie Ball of Lakefield in his 70th year. Charlie leaves behind his devastated and sad family; wife Judy (McIlwain), daughter Sherri Ball (Shawn) and sons Greg Ball (Jennifer) and Kevin Ball (Denise). Proud grandfather of Matthew, Julia, Kristin, Lauren, Courtney, Alyssa and Kyle. GODIN, NoellaIt is with great sadness that the family announces her passing on September 1st, 2014, peacefully at home after her brave battle with cancer. Wife of Rodney Godin (predeceased in 1980). Loving mother of Dan Godin (Dawn) of Kitchener and Lorie Klipa (Michi) of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Hailey, Rodney (Sheena), Teara, Gerry, Dylan and Quéline. Great-grandmother of Jordan. Dear sister of Rita Godin (Douglas) both predeceased, Diane Dempsey (Edgar) of Sudbury, Kim Brousseau of Ottawa and Richard Brousseau of Sudbury. Loving partner of Gil Pharand of Wahnapitae, daughters Lisa-Marie Pharand of Burlington and Sherri-Lynn Pitre (Guy) of Sudbury. Lovingly remembered by very special Memere Pharand and the Pharand family. Daughter of Oswald and Delores Brousseau (both predeceased). Godmother of Billy Allard of Barrie. Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Noëlla enjoyed being at home, reading, doing puzzles, crosswords and watching her game shows. Noëlla and Gil spent many happy years together; poker runs on the Harley and organizing and attending functions at the School House. They purchased a trailer and lot on Lake Nipissing where family gatherings were enjoyed. She adored her grandchildren, storytime was a favorite enjoyed by them all, and each had their own special things shared with Nanny. She was so proud of her great-grandson Jordan; working in the yard with her and Gil (Papa), walking or riding his bike to the park with Nanny and skipping stones in the river. Always thinking of her children before herself and always there for them. She was a quiet, kind and caring person. All that loved her, held a special place in her heart. Always remembered, never forgotten. Love you Mom/Nanny/Noel. Special thank you to Dr. Bakker, Marian Pharand and the staff at Bayshore. NEWSKY, AlexanderAlex passed away at the Elizabeth Centre, after fighting a brave battle with cancer, on September 1, 2014. Devoted husband to his wife of 30 years, Henriette (Lanoix) Newsky.   A truly lovely man who was accepting of everyone and generous of spirit, he is finally to be reunited with his parents and brother. He leaves behind his family to mourn him: Michelle and Tom Moore, Jody Jankola, Cindy and Rick Caya and granddaughter Skeena Shewman. Alex was a loyal Falconbridge employee – retiring after 30 years of service. A proud Canadian citizen, his beloved homeland of Ukraine always remained near and dear to his heart. A complex and sophisticated man, he was well read and knew how to appreciate life’s simple pleasures: his baseball hat collection, a glass of red wine, classical music and a day spent fishing. Awaiting him at heaven’s gate are his sister-in-law Denise Lanoix and his boys Karlin Shewman, Paul Bustos and Johnathan Hetu (rods and reels in hand). The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the devoted, compassionate and caring staff at the Elizabeth Centre. In their care, he left this world in comfort and with dignity. There will be no visitation or service at his request. Those who wish to may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Alex’s memory. LECLERC, Pauline (née Blier) of Hanmer, ON

LECLERC, PaulineC’est avec tristesse que la famille annonce son décès à Sudbury le lundi 1 septembre 2014 à l’âge de 64 ans.  Épouse bien-aimée de Roger Leclerc de Hanmer.  Fille de feu Dieu-Donné et de feu Marie-Ange (née Pellerin) Blier.  Chère mère de Mélanie Lafreniere (Éric) et Valérie Dalcourt (Denis).  Elle laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs frères et sœurs ainsi que beaux-frères et belles-soeurs.  Ses petits-enfants Nicolas, Cloé, Francis et Audrey garderont de doux souvenirs de sa tendresse. Pauline a dévoué sa vie à sa famille. Elle aimait recevoir les gens chez elle et se préoccupait toujours du bien des gens. Elle est reconnue pour sa patience, sa douceur ainsi que sa bonté. A la demande de Pauline il y aura aucune visite.  Une messe funéraire sera célébrée le jeudi 11 septembre 2014 à 11h00 à la Paroisse St-Jacques, Hanmer.
