At University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, PAUL WILLIAM ZILLER, age 76 of Sarnia passed away. He was the loving husband and best friend of the late Jean “Diane” Ziller (2008) and dear father of Mark Ziller and his wife Jennifer of Cobalt, Bret Ziller and his wife Bonnie and Paula Currie and her husband Jeff of Sarnia. Special companion of Arlene Shoemaker of Nashville TN. Granpa of Catherine, Derek and Kimberly Ziller and Jake and Kelly Currie, brother of Richard Ziller and his wife Marilyn of Brighton. He was predeceased by his parents George and Shirley. Paul was a Maintenance Superintendant at Dow Chemical and had retired after33 years of service. He was a longtime active member and Past President of the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club. Funeral services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday January 21st at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow. Fenton, JohnWilliam “John” Fenton of Chesley, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in his 93rd year.

 

John was predeceased by his beloved wife Mildred, brothers Angus and Wilson, sisters Catherine and Margaret and his parents James and Janet (McFadden) Fenton. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and their families as well as his neighbours on Tower Rd.

Earle Kipp.  Mother of Kim Kipp and his wife Terry of Huntsville, and Kevin Kipp and his wife Janet Medlyn of R.R.#1, Sparta.  Grandmother of Zack Kipp and his wife Cheryl of Bracebridge, Holly Dupuis and her husband Dan of Thamesford, Dr. Luke Kipp of Vancouver, BC, and Mitch Kipp of St. Thomas.  Sister of the late Catherine Williams.  Also survived by a niece and two nephews.  Born in St. Thomas, ON, April 28, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward LeeRoy and Margaret (nee Nicoll) Smith.  Florence formerly taught business courses at Alma College for almost 20 years.  She held an A.T.C.M. from the Toronto Conservatory of Music and taught piano and theory from her home for many years.  Florence was a former organist at Union United Church, and Edward Street Baptist Church and Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Monday, January 20th from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) where the funeral and committal service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 1:30 p.m.  Private interment in Union Cemetery. Born in Petrolia, son of the late Otto and Elsie O’Neill. He was a friend to all, a man of integrity, wisdom, a man of vision and a great listening ear. He was a community-minded man who always looked for opportunities to help and serve others. Larry was Reeve/Mayor of Enniskillen Township, 1989 Warden of Lambton County, Past-President of Petrolia Rotary, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.# 216, Member of the Irish Benevolent Society, Past-Chair of the Oil Museum Foundation and involved in many other organizations in his community. Loving husband of Maureen (Fulcher) O’Neill for 47 years. Larry will be greatly missed by his daughter Chantelle and son-in-law Terry Sanderson of O’Fallon, Missouri and his son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Marcy O’Neill of Springside, Saskatchewan. His pride and joy were his five grand-daughters, Jendaya, Jadyn, and Jovanna Sanderson and Ana and Alia O’Neill. Peacefully at Sumac Lodge on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, Darrel Edward Ellis passed away at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Beverley (nee Torrance). Loving father of Lynn Adams, Nancy (Mike) Vechiola, Lee-Ann Ellis (April Parr), and Scott Ellis. Survived by his five step-children. Deeply missed by several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Joan (David) Kilner. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Elizabeth Ellis and by his stepmother Jean Ellis. Darrel was a Captain of the City of York Fire Department for 30 years and was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Darrel’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, with family and friends being received one hour prior to the service. NICHOLAS: Mr. & Mrs. John and Mary

John at Bluewater Health Sarnia on Saturday, January 11, 2014 and Mary at Vision Nursing Home on Tuesday January 14, 2014. Both passed away peacefully into the arms of their Lord and Saviour. John and Mary were married at Temple Baptist church in Sarnia on Sept 8, 1951 and shared 62 wonderful years together. They adored and loved each other with all their hearts and were shining examples of what love, marriage, family, and commitment represent. Family was everything for John and Mary. They will be deeply missed by their sons Jeff (Susan) and David, cherished grandchildren Jessica (Matt) Tweedie, Caity (Dan) Galbraith, Matthew (Jenny) Blake, Justin Nicholas, Adam Nicholas, and Spencer Nicholas, special great grandchild Jack Thomas Tweedie and son-in-law Steven Blake. They were predeceased by their loving daughter Carole Anne Blake (2006) and son Douglas John (1963). Mary is survived by her loving sister Rita Marshall and loving brother David Hopkins, predeceased by sister Dolena Davies, brother John Hopkins and mother and father Rachel and Evan Hopkins. John is predeceased by his mother and father, Dorothy and Jim Nicholas. John retired from Dow Chemical Canada in 1993 after 37 years of dedicated service and also served in the British Merchant Navy from 1944 to 1948. He was an aviation and nautical enthusiast and loved to read. Mary was always very active in the church and church groups. Mary will always be remembered by many as school secretary for Queen Elizabeth Public School (Sarnia) from 1962 through 1971. Most importantly, Mom was always there for us at home when we needed her most. Mom and Dad loved to travel but were always happiest around family and friends, especially BBQ’s, holidays, and special family gatherings. Most importantly, they loved and served the Lord and were active members of Temple Baptist Church and Huron Baptist Church. Their passion for life, loving smiles, wisdom, and sense of humour will be sorely missed by all that knew them. Their enduring love, encouragement, care and support for loved ones will always be remembered. Visitation for John and Mary will be at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, January 16, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at Huron Baptist Church, 1285 Michigan Ave., Sarnia, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014. Funeral service will be held at Huron Baptist Church on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Very special thanks to the caring staff at Vision Nursing (Superior Crescent) for their love and care for Mom in her final days. Peacefully at Port Hope Community Nursing Home on Monday, January 13, 2014, in her 92nd year, Joyce, beloved wife of the late Eric Downer.  Dear mother of Lesley (Murray) Waller, Newcastle, Carol Walker, Daytona Beach, Fla., and David (Robin) Downer, Gilford.  Nan will be lovingly remembered by Chris (Donna), Stephen (Jackie), Barbara, Jimmy (Tanya), Matthew and Morgan.  Her great-grandchildren will sorely miss “Great Nan”.  She was so proud of them all: Sydney, Brody, Calli-Ann, Marshall, Alice-Louise, Joshua, Brian, Jack, Talen, Ronan and Kael.  Our special thanks to all the staff at the nursing home for the wonderful care they gave to Mom.  At her request, there will be a private family celebration of her life.  Cremation to follow.  If so desired, donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.

DAVIDSON, James Thomas of Cobourg, Ontario

DavidsonJames2Passed away peacefully and with family by his side at Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at 91 years of age.  A long-time member of the federal civil service in Ottawa, he had retired to his roots in Cobourg.  Jim was the beloved husband of the late Audrey Evelyn Shackleton.  He was the loving father to James Peter (Denise), John (Susan) and Susan (Christopher) and grandfather to Brigitte (François), John Nathaniel, Colin, Sophia, Wesley and great-grandfather to Milo.  Jim will be fondly remembered by his sister Eleanor and his many nephews and nieces.  He will be greatly missed by his special friend Laura Bowman.  Family and friends are invited to the visitation at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, Cobourg on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.  A celebration of his life and interment will take place on Saturday, April 26th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church in Cold Springs.  Family would like to extend their thanks to all of Jim’s care providers in Cobourg and Ottawa and especially to those of the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their exceptional care and comfort during Jim’s short stay.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
