Mom slipped peacefully away, surrounded by her loved ones, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Wersch, and her beloved children, Marsha (Bernie) Lipsius and Michael (Gillian Lloyd) Allen. Also survived by 5 adored grandchildren, Eric (Chrissie), Arlene (Stephen Edgell), and Stefan Lipsius, Stephanie, and Robin (Fred Post) Sutherland, and two great-grandchildren, Jude & Isaac Lipsius. She was predeceased by her parents, Lyndsey & Maude Forder, her first husband, Mel Allen, and many other friends and relatives.
Marian was raised at a tourist camp in Northern Ontario, which was built by her parents and is now run by her son and his wife as Kegos Camp. As she grew older, she had a little restaurant that served the loggers who were using the road that ran beside the camp. When she married Mel, they moved 30 miles further north, built their own camp, and then acquired a second one off the highway. When Mel died in 1963, she continued to run both camps on her own. Ontario Hydro moved in to build a power dam a few miles further north and that is where she met Albert. They married in 1969.
Marian was a dear friend and mentor to many, and was passionate about volunteering in her community. After moving to Hanover in 1971, she became very involved with the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary and the Hanover Snowmobile Club. In her later years, she became involved with the New Millennium Quilters, the sewing club, and the Saugeen Conservation Authority.
