Ryan: Dorothy Marie

Posted by on October 4, 2013

RYAN:  Dorothy Marie ~ It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Marie Ryan (nee Barbour) in Whitby on September 26, 2013.  Born in Atherley, Ontario, mom moved to Toronto with our Dad, Mac, where they raised four daughters, Wendy and Leah (Harvey) of Calgary, Janis (Gary) of Stouffville and Tami (Joe) of Whitby.  She was the grandmother of 8, Kari (Alfy), Kyle (Heidi), Kelly (Bartholomew), Ryan (Luz), Colin (Lillian), Shannon (Adam), Matthew (Rachel) and Jared. She was also the great grandmother of 5 (Nea, Cayden, Kaylin, Jackson and Landon).  Along with mom’s passion of family, she was also a wonderful cook and baker who always delighted us at the family dinner table.  She loved playing cards and loved being outside.  Mom, along with Dad, constantly supported their children and grandchildren in their endeavours, attending numerous events over the years.  In retirement, they travelled the world along with mom’s sister, Aunt Helen (Turnbull). Our family wishes to extend and very big thank you to the caring staff at the Village of Taunton Mills and to her St. Elizabeth caregivers who treated her with such kindness and respect.  As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private memorial service for family will take place at a later date. Online condolences are welcomed at www.manganfuneralhome.com
