cardpicHelen’s family is very sad to announce her passing peacefully at Watford Quality Care Nursing Home on August 28, 2014, at the age of 87 years.  Beloved wife of the late Bob Stewart (October 2002) for 54 years, her mother and father, brother Joe Harper (2000), 2 great grandchildren David Solway and Hannah Stewart.  Loving mother to Kay and Ron Cable of Strathroy ,Tom of Forest, Jim of Arkona, Lynn and Brian MacKenzie of Arkona, and Rhonda Dykeman of Alvinston.  Survived by her sister in law Norma Harper.  Devoted Grandma to 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.  Throughout her life Helen worked at the Watford Slipper Factory.  She loved being with family and friends.  She enjoyed playing cards, going to bingo and jamborees.  She will be sadly missed by family, friends and her dear friend June White.  The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Johnson at Watford Quality Care Nursing Home for the loving care they provided.   Friends may call at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 232 Warwick Street, Watford, on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 6:00 – 9:00pm.  A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel  on Saturday afternoon, August 30, 2014, at 1:00 pm.   Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery in Warwick.  For those who wish, in memoriam donations to Watford Quality Care would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.denningfuneralhome.com

Dearly loved husband and best friend of Phoebe (Zavitz) Parish and loved father of Stefan Parish (Katie) and Todd, Trevor, Tanya and their families. Much loved grandpa to Hunter and Aribella. Dear brother of the late Ruth McCarthy (late Joe), late Robert Parish and his wife Susan of Mount Brydges, Milt Parish (Elsie) of St. Thomas, Keith Parish (late Marie) of Strathroy, Jim Parish (Paulina) Hanover, late Frank Parish (late Marg), Donald Parish (Marleen) of Union, Tom Parish (Carol) of St. Thomas and  Pauline Lees (Juri) of Strathroy.  Larry was born in St. Thomas on January 3, 1946, the son of the late Ben and Phyllis (Marsh) Parish. He was retired from Ford Canada Talbotville. Larry was a long time member of the Port Stanley Legion, Branch 410. He was an avid sports fan and had played baseball and hockey in Port Stanley for a number of years.

The funeral service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at First United Church, St. George St., St. Thomas on Monday, September 1st at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Dear brother of Brigite Trumpa of Toronto, Adolf and wife Gloria Aszmies of Kitchener and by two sisters Monica and Rente both of Germany. Dear uncle of Gudrun Roux, Vitas Miknevicius, Rimas Miknev, Al Trumpa, Vitas Trumpa, Lima Trumpa, Robert Aszmies , Jamie Aszmies and other nieces, nephews and cousins. Dearly loved wife of Mike Breault and loving mother of Denis Breault of Windsor.Dear daughter of Lucien Legault of Windsor and the late Germaine (Thivierge) Legault.  Lise was born February 6, 1949 in Cornwall. She worked for Canada Post. She is lovingly remembered by numerous family and friends.

Dearly loved husband and best friend of Lucy (Chetcuti) Groulx and much loved father of Gary Groulx (Sherry), Kathy Westelaken (Rick) Mary Jane Charlton (Bill), Brian Groulx (Jody) and Tina Groulx, all of St. Thomas. Specially loved “Papa” of Kiera (Jamie), Paul, Justin, Jared, Kristen, Kristina, Lauren, Kelly, Jordan, Ben and Jayden and great grandfather of Lillyana. Dear brother of Lillian McConnell (Jim) of Hamilton, Ronald Groulx (Rose) of London and Jackie Bowman Emmett (Robert) of St. Thomas. Predeceased by his sister, Jeannette Hobbins. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews.  Roland was born in Timmins on February 26, 1935, the son of the late Len (Groulx) and Jean (Groulx) Mazzuca Groulx and her husband Mike. Roland was retired from Bowman Distribution. Roland enjoyed watching Golf and Curling and was a member of the St. Thomas Curling Club and Kettle Creek Golf Club. He also enjoyed cooking.
He loved spending time with all his family and it was always his most important priority.

The celebration of Roland’s life will be held at  Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Beloved husband of the late Eulia “Ann” Brown and loved father of Kathryn “Kate” Yeandle (Mark) of California, David Brown (April) of Florida, Dennis Brown (Parul) of Ottawa and Joe Brown (Sandra) of Woodstock.  Much loved Papa of Peter, Sam, Bill, Ashley “Em”, Haley, Isabel, Miranda, Carter, Cheyenne. Dear brother of Joan Tomlinson of Florida, Anne Burnett (William) of London, Fred Brown (Betty) of London, George Brown (Judy) London, Betty Goebel (Walter) of London. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Roby England on February 17, 1938, the son of the late William and Ellen (Huxley) Brown. He retired from the St. Thomas Police Department in 1987.  Jim had been a member of the St. Thomas Curling Club and the Belmont Golf Club.

Jim was born in London, Ontario on November 23, 1951, the son of the late Fred and Alice (Sims) Ellis. Jim worked for the Royal Bank.

Peacefully at age 17 in his home with his mom Vicki, sister Britney and stepdad Doug. Will be missed as well by his dad Tom, many extended family and friends.

Suddenly entered into rest after a lengthy illness at the Woodland Villa Nursing Home in Long Sault on Monday August 25th, 2014. Fred Pakenham aged 70 years.  Beloved husband of Theresa (Fleury) Pakenham.  Loving father of Christopher (France) of Cornwall, John (Michelle) of Dartmouth, NS, and Matthew of Brockville.  Cherished grandfather of William, Edward, Alyssa, Emma and Gavin.  Dear brother of Ron (Mary Ellen), Kurt DeRoo (Loretta) and Donna MacLeod (John).  Special uncle of Jennifer, Kurt, Michael and Ellen.   Predeceased by parents Marjorie (Wilson) and William Pakenham.

Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7:00 to 9 pm.  The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday August 28th, 2014 at 11:00 am.  Interment Oakland Cemetery at a later date.  In memory of Fred, donations to the Parkinson’s Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. After a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease passed August 22, 2014, surrounded by his family at Allendale Care Centre, Milton. Will be lovingly remembered by his wife Fran, sons Scott (Debi), Wayne and step daughter Deanna Beck (Curtis). Proud Grandpa of Mason, Victoria and Deklan. Will be missed as well by his brother Don (Margret), sister Dorothy (Ray) and many extended family and friends.

STEVENSON, Tina oval68 years, of Comber, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Beloved wife of Brian. Loving mother of Krista (Chris) Gallant. Predeceased by son Bret (1981), and her parents Jim and Mary Jane (Deziel) Stephenson. Dear sister of Bonnie Hood, Roger (Ellen) Stephenson, and the late Jim (surviving wife Carol) Stephenson. Tina will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In accordance with Tina’s wishes, cremation has taken place with private family interment to follow. Loving mother of Alice Brosseau and late husband Alcide (1993), Rene Goodreau and wife Eileen. Dearest loved mémé of Oscar Brosseau, Joe and Jill Brosseau, Renée and Ralph Roels, Dan Brosseau, Lu-Anne and Ken Therrien, Armand Brosseau, Genevieve Brosseau, Simone Reaume, Ken and Bernadette Goodreau, the late Thomas Goodreau (1961), 19 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, and predeceased by 2 great grandchildren Jeremy Brosseau and Rachelle Goodreau. Predeceased by parents Odilon Rivait (1974) and Deneige (Marentette) Rivait (1921). Funeral service from the funeral home Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10 a.m., then to St.Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
