With breaking hearts we announce the passing of Gary on December 12, 2013 at the age of 71 years.  Devoted and loving husband to Mary his best friend; she made him smile everyday.  Adored son of the late Stanley and Glenna Roath who were waiting with open arms.  Proud father of Cindy Morneau (Pierre), Rosalinde Tellier (Paul), Kevin Roath (Christine), Christine Colarossi (Mike).  Proudest grandfather to Shannan, Krystal, Tiffany, Tara, Brittany, Christopher, Travis, Dillon, Cody, Christian and Gabrielle.  Dear great grandfather to Cadence, Serena, Tiana, Calleigh, Logan and Kai. Loving brother to Donna Tyndall (late Blaine) (2002), Sandy Wilkins (late John) (2011), Mary Taylor (Dick) and late Wayne Roath (1969). Gary will also be missed by his lifelong friend Bob Tinham and Clarence Lesperance.  Gary retired from Chrysler after many years of dedicated service.  Gary loved life but loved his family more and always made sure we knew just how much.  Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday December 17, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Anne Church (12233 Tecumseh Rd. McNicholBAt Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 16, 2013, Mr. Robert Clarence McNichol of Listowel, in his 72nd year.  Much loved partner of Debbie Powell of Listowel.  Father of David and Pam McNichol of Round Lake, and Donald and Cathy McNichol of Emsdale.  Grandfather of Vince, Kathryn, Riley, Ayla, Hayden, and Elliot.  Brother of Helen and Don Valin of Kitchener, and Sharon Noble and Bob Cullen of Gowanstown.  Bob was loved and will be remembered by Debbie’s mother Theresa Cassel of Elmira, and by Debbie’s children, grandchildren, brothers and sister.

Predeceased by his son Dennis McNichol and by his parents Cecil and Blanche (Elliott) McNichol.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20th at 11:00 a.m.

Karen is survived by her loving husband Emil, cherished children Derek (Sara) of Port Dover, Krystal of Langton, daughter-in-law Joanne and precious grandchildren Steven, Brian, Nathan, Emil Jr. and Shinese. Karen is also survived by her siblings Duane (Char), Dave (Gail), Sandy (Jim), Patti (Glen), Diane and sister-in-law Margo all of Winnipeg. Karen loved to travel, go on scenic rides, had a thing for shoes and a love for her mini horse Annie. A loving person who would much rather give than receive. Beloved wife of the  late Gerald  “Jerry” MacArthur  (2006) and dearly loved mother of Karen  Patterson (Ron) of Burlington, Dale MacArthur (Diane) of London and Kim Cook  (Stan) of St. Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Todd (Sarah), Ryan (Kelly),  Iain (Melissa), Greg (Ashley), Corey (Randi) and Brittany (Brad) and great  grandmother of Tyler, Dylan, Lucas and Will. Dear sister-in-law of Bill  MacArthur and best friends with  Dick and Carol White. Predeceased by a sister  Jean Foster (late Morris) and an infant brother Bob. Sadly missed by a number  of nieces and nephews. Donna was born in St. Thomas on November 3, 1931, the  daughter of the late Lewis and Ila Chisholm. She worked over 34 years for A. &  P. St. Thomas.

Surrounded  by her family, Eileen passed away peacefully at home in her 85th  year on December 15, 2013.  Eileen was a  dedicated teacher who taught English and French in high schools and at Fanshawe  College in London, Ontario. Her many interests included the theatre, travel and  literature. She was an avid reader and a long-standing and active member of the  St. Thomas Book Club where her computer and organizational skills contributed  to its success. Eileen is survived by her loving daughters Maureen (Jim) and Yvonne, son  William, and grandsons Brennen and Blake. She will be sadly missed by her  sister Joan, brother Charles, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many  friends. Eileen was predeceased by her son-in-law Sean, her sisters Mary and  Peggy, and brothers Jack and Dennis.

The family will receive friends at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Thursday, December 19 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  A service to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday,  December 20, 2013. Joy Strachan, loving wife of Pierre Mercier, both of Lansdowne Ontario, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2013 at her home surrounded by the love of friends and family.  Joy is predeceased by her parents, Irene (Babe) and Jim Strachan of Orillia.  She was the best sister of Glenn (Donna), Clifford (Marie) and Donald (Rossanne), and niece of Jim Johnston.   She had many nieces, nephews   and grand nieces and nephews, too many to list, but much loved.

Joy made many friends where ever she passed, be it through her long career as a psychoeducational consultant with the Dufferin Peel Separate School Board, or her many activities in retirement.

Joy was an interesting, charming, caring, multi-talented woman of substance.  Her many passions included long distance sailing, gourmet cooking, gardening, local food, travel, antiques, land conservation and animal shelters.   Her retirement years were a whirlwind of activity contributing to the many community groups with which she was involved.   She grew to love her adopted community and the unique natural beauty and culture she found there.

Joy was deeply grateful for the excellent care she received from the Cancer Centre Southeastern Ontario, especially her oncologist Dr. Hammad as well as the many community resources such as Community Care Access Centre South East, the superlative care of Dr. Michelle Casey her family physician and the many friends and neighbours who provided love and support.

There will be no funeral service, but there will be a celebration of her outstanding life at her home Stoneboat Farm in Lansdowne in the coming spring.

Peacefully, Gerry passed away at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Giulia of 59 years; three children Vito (Angela), Anthony (Tammy) Fonseca and Maria (Claudio) Elia; along with his nine grandchildren Anthony, Nancy, Robert, Brandon, Alexandria, Natalie, Marco, Andrew and Grace and his three great-grandchildren Emma, Brielle and Bentley. He is predeceased by his sister earlier this year Carmela DeLucia (Antonio) of London.  Dear brother of Rosa (Francesco) and Antonio (Giustina) of Italy. Gerry, a war veteran, sought a new life in Canada, immigrating from Italy in 1951 with Giulia joining him in 1954 to start their life together. Rutland in Chippawa until her retirement in 1982.  Marjorie was a long time member of the CWL and choir at Sacred Heart Church.  She had been a resident of Chippawa for 55 years.

charlesbois jean-paulCharlebois – Mr. Jean-Paul from Hawkesbury originally from St-Bernardin passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Marie-Jeanne Levac; the son of the late Léopold Charlebois and of the late Agnès Secours; the cherished father of Normand (Geneviève Lalonde), Jean-Pierre and Lise (Monique Séguin); the loving grandfather of Jonathan, Chloé, Karine and Sophie; the dear brother of Roger (Estelle Denis), Mathieu (Thérèse Méthot), Germain (Lucy Rhodenizer), Richard (Rolande Séguin)and Réjeanne (late Bernard Lamoureux). Also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and friends. He was the mayor of the Caledonia municipality from 1974-1997. He was elected warden of the Prescott-Russell Unites Counties in 1983-1984. He was the instigator of several community projects. The family would like to sincerely thank the Community Care Access Centres, the personnel at the Prescott-Russell Residence and to Dr. Jean-Claude Landa and the staff at the Hawkesbury General Hospital for all the good cares given to Jean-Paul.

Arrand, CliffordPeacefully with family by his side at Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 Clifford Randolph Arrand went to be in the arms of the Lord at the age of 95.  Loving husband of Frances Arrand (nee Wilson) for 69 years.  Beloved father of Mary Lee (Henry) Pranger, David (Terri) Arrand and Bradley (Brenda) Arrand.  Survived by grandchildren Brent (Patricia), Christopher (Janice), Heather (Jeff), Mark (Nicole) and Thomas (Desiree).  Great-grandchildren Kyra, Aaron, Ryan, Emelia, Noah, Savannah and Blake.  Dear brother of Ralph (Marjorie) and Irene Arrand (late Andrew).  Brother-in-law of Kathleen Arrand, Ruth Johnson (James), Eleanor Lambert (late Bill), and Ann Wilson (late Jim).  Predeceased by his infant son James, his parents William and Della, brothers Jack, Bruce, and George, and his sisters Jean and Ida.  Cliff will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends.  Visitation will be held at Denning Bros.
