WHITE, Sue

Posted by on October 17, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sue White on October 14, 2017 at the age of 67. Loving mother of Kim and her husband Mike. Precious Gramma to Caitlin, Kassidy, Kristal and Joey.

Sue had a love for learning and graduated with Honours from Teacher’s College when she was a young woman. She loved reading People Magazine and any book she could get her hands on. She fostered an appreciation for education, hard work and persistence in her daughter and grandchildren. Sue took great pride in her daughter’s achievements as well as her granddaughters’ pursuit of post secondary education.

Sue worked at Ventra Plastics for over 30 years where she made numerous friends including Doris Denomme, Debbie Martin and Carole Dillon. Over the years, these women became Sue’s partners in crime, sharing many laugh and crazy adventures. Our heart felt thanks to Doris for her devotion to Sue during these past two years. Her regular visits always brought laughter and brightened Sue’s day.

Sue had an amazing sense of humour and was always quick with a comment or joke that left friends and family in stitches. She also loved to play competitive games, like Sorry, Damn It, or Skip-Bo. In her younger years she could be found staying up to the wee hours of the morning playing Kanasta with her girlfriends. Sue’s passionate gameplay was passed on to her family through many nights around the table with Kim, Mike, and her grandchildren.

Sue loved camping, playing golf and travelling across North America. She also spent endless hours caring for her backyard gardens, creating needlepoint wall hangings or Christmas stockings. Sue loved music and could be found singing to the oldies or dancing around the house to the sounds of Motown.

She loved her dogs and catered to their every whim. Thumper, Casey, and Mindy were her faithful companions and she would take them for walks each night, frequently stopping to chat with her neighbours along the way.

Huge thanks to the loving and caring staff of the Villages at St. Clair (Colchester) for taking such special care of Sue during her stay. Your thoughtfulness and willingness to welcome all of us into the St. Clair family has been a wonderful blessing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Humane Society would be appreciated. At Sue’s request, no funeral was held, however join us for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 22, 2017, from 1:00 -3:00 pm at Forest Glade Community Centre.
