A brave man and a true fighter, surrounded by family at his home on Thursday February 23, 2012 Joseph lost his 17 year battle with prostate cancer. He was a proud Canadian, loving husband, caring father, a good brother and grandfather.  Joseph leaves behind his wife of 51 years Maria, his daughters Josie Novak (John) and Marti Obreza. Joseph’s strong and loving bond with his grandson Michael Novak will stay with him forever. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Anica Dejak (Louie), his nephews Mike, Frank, and Tom and his family in Slovenia. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., (between Islington & Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705) on Sunday February 26, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at 10am. Interment Assumption Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
