On Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Port Hope Extendicare, in her 98th year. Bernetta Norwood, treasured sister of the late Tim Bate (the late Gladys), Margaret Moore (the late Ralph) and Clifford Bate (Helen). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and extended family. Bernetta was a proud graduate of the University of Toronto. She enjoyed her work as a classroom teacher, a teacher of special needs students and as a library consultant with the former North York School Board. She was a long time member of the Anglican Church. Bernetta loved to travel and enjoyed duplicate bridge, a passion she shared with many friends. She spent many hours knitting and doing needlework and pettipoint. She was well read and in recent years enjoyed the resources of the CNIB library. Her family wishes to acknowledge the many acts of kindness, friendship and support shown to them and to Bernetta over the years, and to thank the staff of the Cobourg Retirement Home and more recently the staff of the Port Hope Extendicare. The thoughtfulness shown by Jean Carr, a friend and companion will not soon be forgotten. A memorial service will be held at the MacCoubrey FuneralHome on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015 at 2pm with visiting one hour prior from 1pm-2pm. Interment at Cobourg Union Cemetery.
