Peacefully on Sunday, 14 October 2012 at the Kemptville District Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Karl Norenberg. Loving mother of Margret (Mineo Hiyazaki) and Eric (Julie). Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Luke, Ryan and Markus. Predeceased by her brother Hans-Joachim Kersten of Germany. Christa is survived by her sisters-in-law Eva Norenberg and Waltraud Kersten, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Germany and Poland. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family, and staff of Kemptville Building Centre and Kemptville Home Furniture. Christa was born and raised in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1962. She and her husband moved to Kemptville shortly thereafter and were proud to call this community their home in the ensuing years. With her husband, she founded Norenberg Construction Ltd. in 1970 followed by Kemptville Building Centre five years later. A devout Catholic, Christa was actively involved with Holy Cross Parish for over 47 years. During the final month of her life, she was in the Kemptville District Hospital and Ottawa General where she was extended considerate care by all of the staff. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to everyone at both hospitals who made this period of time easier for her. Additionally, we would like to gratefully acknowledge the doctors and nurses of the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Chemotherapy Clinic of the Winchester Hospital.
