NIKIC, Franjo “Frank”, of R.R.#7, St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, May 25, 2012, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Manda (nee Tadijanovic) Nikic. Dearly loved father of Peter Nikic (Jeanne) of Ottawa, Joe Nikic (Sunday Charity) of R.R.#7, St. Thomas, and Jela “Helen” Susnjar (Davor) of St. Thomas. Cherished Dido of Matthew, Marko, Katica, Kristian “Kiki”, and Antonia. Also survived by cousins, Ilija and Anica Tadijanovic, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Born in Zovik, Bosna, April 12, 1939, he was the son of the late Jozo and Jela (nee Zuparic) Nikic. Frank was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company of Canada’s St. Thomas Assembly Plant. He was a member of St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, London. Relatives and friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. (Prayers at 7:30 p.m.). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Dr., London on Tuesday, May 29th at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment in Holy Angels’ Cemetery, St. Thomas. If so desired, memorial donations to the church restoration fund will be gratefully acknowledged. A special note of appreciation to the nurses and staff of Valleyview Home and the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, especially Amanda, who stood by him until his final moments.
