Gloria Susann Nickerson – October 23, 1945 ~ February 20, 2019

NICKERSON, Gloria Susann –It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Gloria Nickerson, age 73, of South Side, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born in Woods Harbour on October 23, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Laura “Maude” (Malone) Nickerson. Gloria loved her morning coffee at McDonald’s with friends, travelling, visiting friends, watching her grandchildren play sports and playing crib. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robie; her son, Herbie (Debbie) Nickerson; daughter, Deane (Ivan) Symonds; grandchildren, Coady (Cynthia) Nickerson, Cara (Jordan) Nickerson, Jillian (Bill) Crowell, Susann (Armand) d’Entremont, Kattie (Brandon) Symonds, Janaya (Shauna) Nickerson, Josh Nickerson, and four great grandchildren; brothers, Walter Nickerson, Herbie (Linda) Nickerson; sisters, Mary Forward, Rita (Lennie) Smith, Barbara (Lawrie) Daine, Joyce (Terry) Nickerson; and sister-in-laws, Gisele Nickerson and Helen Penney. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Florance, Olive, Ruth, Eleanor, Ilene; and brother, Leslie. There will be a visitation held Saturday, 7-9 p.m., at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will take place, Sunday, February 24, 2 p.m., at the South Side United Baptist Church with Pastor Shaun Hatfield officiating. Interment to follow in the White Lily Cemetery, South Side. It has been requested there be family flowers only. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the IWK or a charity of your choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to the management and staff of Pharmasave, the ambulance attendants, and anyone else that was present during her passing.
