Lynch, Alan Keith of Barrie, ON – June 3, 1930- December 17, 2016

Alan Keith Lynch, after living a long and fulfilling life passed away peacefully on December 17th.   Alan, in his 86th year is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rhoda Joyce (ne Irwin).  Alan was father to five children, Jack, Bob, Debbie, Christine and Karen.  He was father in law to Michael (pre-deceased), Albert, Susan, Craig and Lynda.  He was grandfather and great grandfather to many.  Alan and loving wife Joyce enjoyed many wonderful hours together decorating their beautiful home and tending to an amazing garden.   Alan spent his full work life of 41 years with Loblaw food stores working his way up the corporate ladder to vice president of meat operations.   Upon retirement his days were spent walking his little buddy Quincy, tending to the garden and home, day trips with Mom, watching his grand- children play sports and cleaning and waxing his pride and joys, his many spotless “ always black” cars and trucks.  The Lynch family would like to thank the wonderful staff in the Cardiac and Stroke recovery units at Royal Victoria Hospital and those fantastic volunteers and staff at Simcoe Hospice.  A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Please consider a donation in Alan’s name to Hospice Simcoe or Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. COULTHARD, BOB – At Bluewater Health on Thursday, November 24, Lloyd Robert”Bob” Coulthard, age 73 of Sarnia passed away. He was the dear husband of the late Gail Coulthard (2014) and loving father of David Coulthard and Kimberly Coulthard-Jackson, grandfather of Chantelle, Christine, Atira, Cody and Ashton, and great-grandson Freyr. He retired from Praxair as a driver after many years of service. Services will be held at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., Sarnia) on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery in Forest. FRY: Karren Ann of Vancouver Formerly of Ontario

images-4It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karren Ann Fry. Karren passed away in her home on June 13, 2016. 

Karren was was born to Alan (2013) and Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Fry on December 12, 1976 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria B.C.  After an early life in British Columbia, Karren’s family moved to Ontario where she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Criminology from Windsor University in Ontario, which led to her working with RCMP in the student program as a young adult.  She eventually moved to Vancouver BC where she married Cary De Best and had her beautiful daughter, Leah.  In time, Karren ventured out on her own and worked as a support worker for adults with mental illness.
 
Karren was a loving mother, dedicated family member and a good friend. Her raw sincerity, infectious laugh, sense of humour and amazing spirit made her a joy to be around. She would brighten anyone’s day with a caring message of support or a ridiculous story.  

Karren was a sincere Buddhist and loved travelling to international Dharma Festivals with her brother for teachings and inspiration.  Special powa ceremonies were performed for Karren by Gen Kelsang Thekchen and friends at Kadampa Mediation Centre Vancouver on June 20th, 2016, As well by her Teacher and friend Gen Kelsang Delek and many others.

Karren enjoyed nature and would find peace during a long walk with her daughter in the parks that line the beautiful coast of Vancouver.  She especially loved animals and adored her two little boy cats Thomas (T-Dawg) and Sammy. 

Her family, friends, and all those she touched will miss her tremendously. Karren is survived by her beautiful and loving daughter, Leah De Best (Cary); Her Mother Elizabeth and grandmother Nelda Sauer; her uncles Jim, Ron, Tom, Doug and her Aunt Ellen; her brother Jeff Fry (Devon) and niece Lexa; and her sister Leanne Fry. 
 

There will be a a celebration of life on July 2nd, 2016 from 11:00am – 2:00pm at St. James Community Centre, 3214 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver B.C.

Passed away at his home in Waterdown, after a long and prosperous life, on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the age of 94. Beloved husband for nearly 62 years to Kathleen (nee Marion). Loving father of Della Marie, the late Wayne (1979), Michael (Maureen), and Karen Marion (Claude). Cherished Papa of Cassandra (Sean), Maria (Wayne), Suzanne (Tyler), Michelle, Dianne (Jonathan), Sarah, Emilly, and great Papa of 8 great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Gilberette, Rev. Sister St. Rose of the Daughters of Wisdom, Ottawa. Predeceased by his siblings Roger, Paul-Emile, Aurel, Joseph, Fernand, Rose, Juliette, and Annette. Del was a WWII Veteran, having served as Bandsman. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Oakville, before working and retiring with Petro Canada. Del was very involved in sports, both playing and coaching in the Waterdown community. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, and also enjoyed his time playing with the Oakville Citizen Band. Most importantly Del was the rock and foundation of his family, and his sense of humour, and love will always be remembered. Blanche Berneace Tomlinson (nee Gough), 88, of Burlington, Ontario passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital on March 24, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm [Noon] April 8th, 2016 at the Appin Presbyterian Church, Appin Ontario.
Blanche was born in Ekfrid Township on October 1, 1927. She was a former employee of the Royal Bank of Canada having started her career at Dutton branch and ultimately retiring from Stoney Creek Branch. It was the vacancy she left at Dutton branch that allowed her son to also join the Royal Bank where he spent the next 41 years before also retiring in 2004.
Blanche was married to Edward Grant Tomlinson who pre-deceased her on December 7, 2000.
Blanche is survived by her son Ross and his wife Valentina; foster daughter Faith Zouzal and her husband Karl; grandsons Brent Tomlinson; Eric and Karl Zouzal; Alex and Stan Kazakov and great-grandson Jack Tomlinson.

McCracken, Charles of Sarnia

O. L. as a Lab Tech for over 30 yrs.  His biggest honour was being inducted in the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame as Mr. Soccer.  He will be missed by all his friends from the downtown core.  A memorial service will be held at the D. 89 years, Windsor, Ontario died peacefully on February 17, 2016 at Village of Aspen Lake Nursing Home.

Born in Tignish, PEI but lived and worked most of her life in Chicago as a psychiatric nurse, Frances spent many years supporting the wellness of those who struggled with mental health. Within her career she was distinguished for her dedication, compassion and professionalism.

Predeceased by dear friend and lifelong companion Gene Hoffman (Chicago) and by parents Emma (Gaudet), Edward DeRoche and step-father Octave Gaudet. Sister to Dr. James DeRoche (late Mary), Edward DeRoche (Anne), the late Felicia Bering (late Peter) and the late Gerard DeRoche (Margaret). Aunt Fran is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews for her fun loving spirit and infectious laugh. Thank you to staff at Aspen Lake for their loving care.

Pan, Anthony DN photoPAN, Anthony “Tony”- Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family on February 5, 2016 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Mary for 61 years.  Loving father of Jerry (Carol), Susan Diamond (Bill) and Darlene Kornya (Gary). Proud grandfather of Kristin (Sean Ainsworth) and Joshua Diamond, Jeremy, Jessica and Justin Pan, Matthew, Melanie and Michael Kornya.

Tony was born in Strakonice, Czechoslovakia in 1929 and immigrated to Canada as a young man. He worked at General Motors for 31 years retiring in 1990.  His greatest loves in life were his wife and family, his garden and golfing. Tony’s warmth, compassion and especially his sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to Dr. Arvinte and the staff of Hotel Dieu Shaver for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Baker, Edward webBAKER, Edward (Ted) Barry – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the age of 82 from a stroke.  Devoted husband of 59 years to the late Madeline Baker and loving father to Lynn (Mickey) Trapnell, Kari (Lou) Bragaw and Diane (Vic) Pizzicarola.  Treasured Papa to Matt, Celine, Tim, Maddie and Kayla.  Dear brother to Jane (Don) Hurson, Margie (Gord) Cudney and the late Paul Baker and brother-in-law to Susie (Horst) Bockel.  Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.  Ted had a wonderful life.  He loved his family and was a wonderful friend.  He loved travelling, playing bridge, shooting pool, curling and playing cards especially with his grandchildren.  After retiring from Blenkhorn & Sawle he enjoyed boating, fishing and snowmobiling at their beautiful home on Lake of Bays for 17 years.  He created wonderful memories for his family and friends and we will miss him dearly.  As per his wishes there will be a private interment for the family only at the Fairview Mausoleum in Niagara Falls.  Condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com

Beloved mother of Patrick (Martine) and Edward (Cindy) both of Azilda, Rupert, Adrian, Bev (Steve Pugh), Darlene, Patricia Lafantaisie (Luc) and Pamela all of Sudbury, Sharon Cook of Grimsby, Shelly Plante (Claude) of Quebec, Peter of Garson and Caroline of Brantford. Predeceased by her son Perry. Dear sister of Joanne Barbe. Predeceased by her brothers Leo, Joe, Peter, John, Clifford “Gabby”, Jerry and her sisters Audrey, Viola and Helen. Cherished grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 13great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was a mother to all who knew her. Madeline Farthing Peacefully at the Bobier Villa, Dutton January 23, 2016 Madeline [Wilson] Farthing of Dutton in her 93rd year. Dear wife of the late Derek Farthing [2003]. Loving mother of Carol Ann Pietrobon predeceased, Pamela Jan and Richard Nowina of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Kathy Elizabeth and Lyle Sinclair of Woodstock, Tammy Patricia and Edgar deRoos of Dutton. Beloved grandma of Derek and Tanya Meier, Chris and Tiffany Meier, Heather Baker and Andrew Broderick, Becky Eus, Peter Jekinsjan and Misty Yantha and Claire Nowina and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sister of Norma Mansel, Thelma and Bernard Pay and Darlene and Murray Mudge, all of St. Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. Madeline was active in the Dutton Baptist Church, served in Canada in the armed forces in WWII and was a dedicated volunteer in St. Thomas and Dutton area. Beloved husband of Lisa Smith and cherished father of Elicia Harper (Mario Thibodeau), Brandon Harper and Abbegail Harper. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandson Austyn and Austyn’s father P.J. Beauregard. Dear son of Eleanor and the late Dewayne Harper. Dear brother of Brendalee Harper (Steven Dixon). Loving uncle of Megan Panagiotopoulos and Dallas Dixon. He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Alfredo. Steven was an avid hunter and fisherman and held a special life-long love for The Toronto Maple Leafs and The Green Bay Packers.

56928fbc9da72EDWARD CLAYTON STEWART passed away suddenly at Bluewater Health Sarnia on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the age of 71. Edward Stewart was born in Lucknow, Ontario on January 27, 1944. Left to mourn are his children; Carolyn Stewart (Rheal), Charles Stewart (Heather), Tina Bigras (James), Kelly Morin (Joe), Tammy Stewart (Rick). Will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren and his 11  great grandchildren and his dear friend Diane Carlson. Predeceased by his parents and his two sons; Edward and Lee. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Espanola.
