Murray passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of September 27, 2012 at the Pontiac General Hospital (Shawville, QC) at the age of 91. Until the end his strong heart never faded. He was husband to hisbeloved wife Phyllis (nee Muckle – deceased), father to James (Judi) (both deceased), David (Michelle), Douglas (Joan) and Gordon (Sheilagh), grandfather to John, Martin, Trina, Fidèle, Matthew, Michael, and Jordan, and great-grandfather to Ryleigh, Jensen, Irelann and Mateao. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 18, 1921, he was the son of Pearl and James Inglis, and brother of Helen Lapp (deceased). He lived his life as a soldier, land surveyor, entrepreneur and businessman, and provider to his family. Even in retirement, his entrepreneurial spirit remained strong as well as his love of travel and researching/reading. He was somewhat of a private person to his family and rarely shared his dreams and deepest thoughts but his beloved Phyllis made sure we knew of the love and pride he had but seldom expressed to his sons and all those close to him. In his way, he was a kind man who would never harm or hurt another person, trusted all, and always had a soft spot for dogs, cats and small furry creatures. The 22 years without Phyllis were difficult for him. We pray he is together again with Phyllis, son James and all his other loved ones who departed before him. Rest in peace Dad. Special thanks to the kind and caring staff of Pontiac General Hospital. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Friday, October 5 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Donations in his name to the Pontiac General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa-Carleton or the charity of your choice would be welcomed.
