NEFF, Mrs. Catherine (nee Tasker) of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, in her 87th year. Wife of the late C. L. “Neil” Neff (1982). Dearly loved mother of Nadyne Neff (Darin Bush) of Canton, Georgia. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Gooding (Lynn Waldron) of London, Jacob Gooding of Aylmer, and Charlotte Gooding of London. Dear sister of Hilda Brockett of Kitchener. Also fondly remembered by Guy Gooding of R.R.7, Aylmer, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Catherine was predeceased by an infant son, Earl Neff, and two brothers, Donald and Jim Tasker. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, April 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Clara (nee Cumming) Tasker. Catherine was a former employee of Alma College and Med-Care, St. Thomas. She was a member of Central United Church, St. Thomas, where she was formerly involved in pastoral care, a life member of the U.C.W., and a longtime member of the choir. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, October 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be held at Central United Church, 135 Wellington St., St. Thomas (Wellington & Moore) on Sunday, October 26th at 2:00 p.m. Private interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, London will be appreciated.
