Died peacefully at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Thursday, September 4, 2014. HELEN NAPPER (Thompson)(nee Young) of Petrolia, was in her 97th year. Helen was predeceased by her husbands William E. Thompson (1979) and Ernie Napper (2006) and her sons Douglas Thompson (1995) and Delmar Thompson (2012). She will be missed by her son Darryl (Debbie) Thompson of Agassiz, B.C. , her daughters-in-law Carol Thompson and Karen Thompson both of Petrolia, and her grandchildren Wayne (Bonnie), Todd (Jen), Heather, Jeff (Lili), Jason (Amanda), Dennis (Charlotte), Melanie, and Crystal (Chris) and her eight great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by her sisters Jean Hall and Donna and her brother Don Young, and is predeceased by sisters Margaret Staples, Frances Mason, and Dorothy Leckie and her brothers Colin, Robert, and John Young. Helen was an active of member of Zion United Church and of St. Paul’s United Church. She was also a life member of Birkhall Women’s Institute. Visitors will be received on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:45 at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Carolyn Wilson Wynne of St. Paul’s United Church officiating. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery.
