It’s all quiet on the home front, as a musical icon and day to day hero leaves us. Terence Patrick Murphy of Windsor On, died at L.H.S.C University Hospital, London on August 23rd, 2012 surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Dolores (Boussey) of 55 years. Predeceased by his parents Philip and Anne (Rivers), his in-laws Wilfred and Laurette Boussey, and his eldest son Brian. We the children: Greg (Mirella Ruso), Colleen (Joe Kuerzi), and Maureen (Bob Peirce) remain thankful for his strength and honesty. Missing his eclectic stories are his grandchildren, Tarik, Tara, Sean, Brendan, Lauren, and Kerri. Younger brother of Phil (Midge O’Mara) of London, uncle to their five children, Chris, Patrick, Michelle, Kevin, Laura. He retired as District Chief from the Windsor Fire Department, and is a former member of the Federation of Musicians and will be remembered by his golf partners at Fox Glen. For decades Terry influenced the music community, inspiring his children, grandchildren and hundreds of band kids to fulfill their musical potential. He started at 19, on his clarinet in the RCR Band, passionately working his way into the lives of many young musicians. Eventually ending his formal music career as the director and founder of the Scarlet Brigade. Terry will be greatly missed.
