MORRITT, Malvena Hope: Journalist and author, cherished mother of Lynn-Marie Gravel (Jean-Paul Gravel) and Ian Michael Cameron died peacefully Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Fiddick’s Nursing Home in Petrolia, Ontario.  Hope won a writing scholarship to the Banff School of Fine Arts and her short stories and plays have been aired on CBC Radio.  She did post-graduate work in Irish Literature at University College, Dublin, where she often read her work.  She is the author of two poetry books, two history books, a memoir, three novels and a book of short stories published in England, the U.S.A. and Canada.  Hope was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Daniel Cameron and her sister, Patricia Elizabeth Ruhl.  She is survived by her sister Aileen (Morritt) Reynolds, five loving grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, February 11, 2013, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with prayers being offered at 3:00 p.m.  A celebration of life will be held afterwards.  In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation, Sarnia (546 Christina St. N., 519-344-3462).  http://www.smithfuneralhome.ca/
