josephine morris 002MORRIS, Mrs. Josephine Ann “Jo” (nee Booker), of R.R.#4, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at the farmhouse she called home for her entire life on Sunday, December 8, 2013, in her 65th year. Surrounded by her family, Jo joined the love of her life, her husband, the late Garry E. Morris (2011). Dearly loved mother of Krista Morris and her husband Nick Novacich of St. Thomas and Clinton Morris of R.R.#4, St. Thomas.  Cherished grandmother (Gran) of Benjamin  Novacich of St. Thomas.  Dear sister of  Marie Hutchings of Shedden, Dorothy Brown of  Frome, Phyllis Bouffard of  St. Thomas, Sandra Minor and her husband Paul of Sparta, and Ernest Booker of  Ottawa.  Most beloved aunt of Dr. Paula Laroche-Minor and her husband Jeff of Vermont, and David Minor and his wife Ginette of St. Thomas. Also survived by her mother-in-law, Berniece Morris of Port Stanley, as well as several in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Leitha Gowanlock and Ruth Roberts, and two brothers, Bill and David Booker.  Jo was born in St. Thomas, ON, January 3, 1949, the daughter and last of ten children of the late William “Bill” and Ella (nee Lumley) Booker.  Working with her sister Sandra for over 30 years, Jo was a talented and creative self-employed seamstress who clothed many prom girls, bridesmaids, and brides throughout the region. Most recently, “Josie” spent her last 7 working years at Zellers St. Thomas in fashion until the store’s closing earlier this year. Jo was a member of Sparta Baptist Church.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday, December 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m.  Following cremation, private interment in Sparta Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society gratefully acknowledged.
