Suddenly, whilst resident at the Long-term Care facility of Bluewater Health, David Morris, 82 years young, took his leave from this “peculiar world”, and is now at peace. Beloved father of Belinda, of Toronto, and Neil, of Caledon. Former spouse and good friend to Christina (nee Mason), of Toronto. Cherished brother of Marion (Dave Andrews), Brian (Pam), and Ian, all of Oxford, England. Loving uncle to Wendy (Mike Yates), of Chicago, and Robert, and Colin, England. Favourite cousin to Gladys Graves and her husband Doug, and their children and grandchildren, all of England. Loving great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Retired from the Lambton Generating Station for over 20 years, David was long-time resident of Sarnia, where he loved partaking of outdoor activities, especially long nature walks, cycling and gardening — even snow-shovelling (!). He will be missed by his friends at the excellent day program at Marshall Gowland Manor, the Red Cross, fellow Grace United Church worshippers and many others. Special thanks to Rev. Brad Morrison and especially, to all of the medical personnel and caregivers who gently touched David’s life in recent years. Your kindness and compassion often went beyond the call of duty, and will always be remembered. A celebration of David’s life will take place this Saturday, February 1st, at Grace United Church, 990 Cathcart Blvd., at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon reception to follow at Grace at 11:15. Private committal in Lakeview Cemetery. All arrangements by Smith Funeral Home. If desired, in memory of David, a donation may be made in his name to the Sarnia and District Humane Society – (phone: 519-344-7064, x 24). Memories and condolences may be sent online at
