MORGAN, John, of the Valleyview Home, St. Thomas, passed away at his late residence on Sunday, September 2, 2012, in his 102nd year.  Beloved husband of the late Gladys (nee Heberle) Morgan (2009).  Loving father of Ken Morgan and his wife Kate of London, Janette Garrie, and John “Jack” Morgan and his wife Rosemary, all of St. Thomas.  Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a step-brother, Robert Hodge, and a daughter-in-law, Jayne Morgan.  Born in Coatbridge, Scotland, November 20, 1910, he was the son of the late Robert and Isabella (nee Armstrong) Morgan.  He was a retired laundry room employee of the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and a former farmer.  John was a member of the St. Thomas Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  He was an active five-pin bowler and an avid camper for many years.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Wednesday evening, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at the St. Thomas Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 451 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.  Following cremation, interment in Elmdale Memorial Park.  Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged.
