Janet MooreMOORE, Mrs. Janet Carol (nee Stevenson), of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, February 11, 2016, on her 78th birthday.  Dear wife of Guy R. Moore. Beloved mother of twin daughters; Melanie Wight (Irv) of British Columbia, and Valerie Moore of Saskatchewan.  Cherished sister of Jean Wilson (Richard) of St. Thomas. Dear aunt of Amanda Drenth (Paul), Amelia Drenth (Rick), and Steven Wilson (Erica), all of St. Thomas.  Born in Windsor, ON, February 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (nee Knowles) Stevenson.  Janet graduated from General Amherst High School and the London Teachers College.  She taught at Amherstburg Public School for 8 years.  She excelled at her hobbies of rug hooking, knitting and crochet.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.  There will be no public visitation or funeral service.  A service will be held in the spring at the Old St. Thomas Churchyard scattering garden.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Janet’s family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses, care workers and hospital staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Continuing Care Centre for their kindness and dedication.
