MooreForbesArmyWith great sadness the family announces the death of Forbes H. Moore of Fairwinds Lodge on July 2, 2013 at the age of 92.  He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Sybil in 2002.  Survived by Cheryl Dunn, Garry (Linda) Moore, and Cal (Brenda) Moore.  Grandfather of Randy (Stephanie) Dunn, Andrea (Jim) Brown, Craig (Emily) Moore, Jeff (Stephanie) Moore, Brian & Sean Moore.  Great Grandfather of Logan & Jack Dunn, Joshua Brown, Sydney & Colin Moore, and Joshua & Sarah Moore.  Brother-in-law of Gerald & Janet Campbell and June Campbell.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Forbes was born on May 18, 1921 in Port Elgin, New Brunswick and after proudly serving for 6 years in the Canadian Armed Forces with the RCEME unit, he settled in Sarnia with his wife.  After working at the Ford garage and operating a White Rose gas station, he went on to partner in Moore-Wilson Service Centre on Proctor St. and was well known as a top notch mechanic.  Forbes enjoyed most of his retirement years at Big Eagle Harbour (Tobermory) where he continued to fix anything people brought to him.  Before full retirement, he worked ten years for Ontario Northland Ferry Service.

His sense of humour and card-playing skills will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.  Forbes always believed that we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.  On Tuesday, July 9th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. an informal remembrance luncheon will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 62, 286 N. Front St., Sarnia,  N7T 5S7. Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62.
