Roy, of St. Thomas, passed into the presence of His Lord at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, December 15, 2013, in his 87th year.  Roy was a former resident of R.R.#4, St. Thomas, the Aylmer area, and Tillsonburg.  Beloved husband of Muriel (nee Sercombe) Beckett.  Dearly loved father of Doug Beckett (Janet) of St. Thomas, David Beckett (Heather) of Sussex, NB, Eunice Beckett of Carvel, AB, and Will Beckett (Krista) of R.R.#7, St. Marys.  Dear brother of Ruth Buell of Espanola.  Also fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  Roy was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Anna (nee Goodfellow) Beckett (1987), an infant son, Charles Isaac Beckett and a brother, George Beckett.  Born in Tillsonburg, ON, March 26, 1927, he was the son of the late William and Frances (nee Locker) Beckett.  A retired employee of the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital, he also formerly farmed in the Aylmer area.  Roy was in fellowship with the Christians Gathered in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Gospel Hall), 1 Sunset Dr., St. Thomas.  Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, December 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). The funeral service will be held at the Gospel Hall, 1 Sunset Dr., St. Thomas on Thursday, December 19th at 2:00 p.m.  Interment in Union Cemetery.  Memorial donations to The Gideons will be gratefully acknowledged.

peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Trillium Manor, Orillia on Wednesday, November 13, 2013; 5 months after celebrating her 100th birthday.  Ethel Mallett, of Orillia, beloved wife of the late Charles (Charlie) Mallett.  Mother of Marilyn Graves and husband Ralph of Argyle, Hazel Bishop and husband Henry Mueggler of New Brunswick, Ruby Wylie and husband John of New Brunswick, and Jeannette Barlow of Orillia.  Grandmother of Geoff, Wanda, Terry, Tanis, and Jeanene.  Great grandmother of 8 and great great grandmother of 3.  Predeceased by brothers Ivan and Lorne.    Thank you to the staff at Trillium Manor, Bayshore Nursing and the Red Cross girls for their care and compassion.  The late Mrs. Ethel Mallett will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St.,N., Orillia on Sunday from 1 – 4 pm and on Monday, November 18th from 12 Noon until time of service in the chapel at 1 pm.  A reception will follow in the Mundell Reception room.  Interment to take place at the Atherley Cemetery at 3:30 pm.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church or Trillium Manor Activities would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence are welcome at

LALONDE, FelixIt is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 at the age of 80 years.  Beloved husband of Annette (née Lapierre) Lalonde of Sudbury.  Son of the late Xavier and the late Florentine (née Larocque) Lalonde.  Loving father of Pierrôt (Patricia) of Sudbury, Marc Lalonde (Sharon) of Dieppe, N. B., Rose-Anne Lalonde (Guy) of Ottawa and Colette Lalonde of Sudbury.  Dear brother of Maria Spencer (late Aldège), Stella Lapointe (Raymond) and Alfred Lalonde (Monique).  Predeceased by his siblings Philippe, Noël, Xyste, Gracia and Léandre.  Sadly missed by his grandchildren Nicole, Jennifer, Julie-Anne, Kevin, Jean-Robert, Marie-Mai, Marc and by his great-grandchildren Chase, Adrian, Phoenix, Katie, Andrew and step-grandchild Cassie.  Félix was a member of the Club Amicale of Sudbury.  He also did volunteer work for the St-Dominique Church and the Extendicare Falconbridge.  In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5th, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St-Dominique Church, Sudbury.  Donations (by cheque only) to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
