68 years, courageously passed away on April 15, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 44 years to Kathleen (nee Nowitsky). Devoted father of Ian & Jenny and David & Kaitlin Kennedy. Much loved grandpa of Claire and Zachary. Predeceased by his father Robert Middleton (1951) and mother Bernice Bischoff (2001). Dear step-son of Helmut Bischoff. Dear brother of Don & Sue, Kathy & Ron White, Peter & Darlene Bischoff, Gordon Bischoff & Kim Klyn, brother-in-law of Pat Michie (the late Tom), Mary Lou Nowitsky (the late Jerry), Mike & Janet Nowitsky and son-in-law of the late Lodjin (1990) and the late Pauline Nowitsky (1998). Rick will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a secondary school teacher for many years with the Windsor Essex District School Board. He was actively involved with high school athletics and was a Lifetime Member of the Windsor & District Basketball Referee’s Association. Rick especially loved to travel with his wife and family. He will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Friday 3-5 & 7-9 pm at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. On Saturday, family and friends are invited to meet at Corpus Christi Church, 1400 Cabana W., after 10am followed by Liturgy of the Word at 11 am. Private family entombment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
