McRae, Pegy canobotsMcRAE, Peggy Doreen, 93, passed away at Upper Canada Lodge, Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.  Peggy was born in Bradford, England to Franklin (Grenadier Guard) and Winifred (Fleming) Tingey on September 27, 1919.   She left school to train to be a tailor in London, a skill she used throughout her life as a mother.  During WWII, Peggy served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) as a plotter of aircraft over the Channel.  Peggy married her beloved Stuart Currie McRae, a Canadian Serviceman, on February 8, 1946 at Crookham, England.  She is predeceased by her husband Stuart and survived by her daughter Heather Doyle (Arun Kapur) of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and her son David McRae (Rozalia Varga) and granddaughter Emma McRae of Holland Landing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, 20 Eglinton Ave., west #1600, Toronto, Ontario.  The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Upper Canada Lodge in Niagara-on-the-Lake and to Pat Moar and Pam Croteau, caregivers to Peggy.  The family will hold a private memorial service.  Memories, photos and condolences may be made at
