Marjorie Olive McRae born August 25, 1918 passed away peacefully at Eventide Nursing Home on June 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Charles McRae. Marjorie was born in London, England however became a local girl when her family moved to Queenston and Niagara Falls. She went back to England in 1939 and served in the British Army ATS until 1941 when she transferred to the Canadian Army for the duration of the war. It was during her service with the Canadian army she met her future husband Charles. They married in England and spent the majority of their lives in Niagara Falls. She is survived by her four children Pat Collier (Gary Collier), Andy McRae (Melissa Cuviello) of Niagara Falls, Ellen McRae of Toronto and Dan McRae (Mary-Martha McRae) of Whitby; her grandchildren Michael Collier (Karen Collier), Nicole Dardarian (Michael Dardarian), Marcia Cuviello, Jennifer and Josh McRae and great grandchild Madeline Collier. The family would like to thank Dr. Philip McGarry and the nurses and staff at Eventide for their care.
Marjorie’s family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME 5917 Main Street, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church on Monday June 24th at 11 o’clock. Cremation will follow. A private family entombment will take place at Stamford Heritage Columbarium at a later date.
