Passed away at home on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late John G. McNeil (1976).  Lovingly remembered by her daughter Marilynne McNeil, London and her son Grant McNeil and his wife Barbara, Calgary. Nanna was especially proud of her grandsons Scott McNeil, Ottawa and Evan McNeil, Halifax.  Remembered by niece, Reverend Janet Bisset and her husband Jim, St. Lambert, Quebec, nephew, Dr. Warren Dicks, Barcelona, Spain and their families, and by sister-in-law, Betty Dicks, Pointe Claire, Quebec. Dora was a graduate of London South Collegiate and the Victoria Hospital Nursing School (1940), and during WWII served as a nursing sister at Westminster Military Hospital. Wesley-Knox United Church had a lifelong place in Dora’s life; she grew up, was married and raised her family there; she also sang in the choir for over 40 years and served on the Official Board. Over the years, she volunteered with several organizations in London.  Most notably she applied her nursing skills in her work as Volunteer Coordinator for the Children’s Aid Society of London and with school clinics for the London-Middlesex Health Unit, and her love of music as a charter and life member of the Volunteer Committee of Orchestra London. The family would like to give special thanks to CCAC and their homecare people, especially to Sue, Dora’s dedicated caregiver who helped her in so many ways over the past several years. Private family interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm, at Wesley-Knox United Church, 91 Askin Street, London ON N6C 1E7.  Visitation with the family will follow the service at a reception in the Centennial Parlour at the church.
