McNeely, Douglas James – Peacefully on Saturday Sept. 22, 2012 at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, in his 81st year.  Dear husband of Doreen.  Caring father of Jeffrey, Jonathan, and James (Tracey).  Beloved grandfather of Ben and Brooklyn.  Cherished son of the late Estella and Arthur.  Survived by his loving sister Lois (Mack) James, nieces and nephews.  Doug’s childhood was spent on the family farm.  He became an Ontario Land Surveyor with Dept. of Highways (21 yrs) then with Dept. of Housing until he retired in 1986 to Cobourg.  Doug kept busy volunteering, serving on the Boards of the Presbyterian Pioneer Cemetery, Northumberland Respite Services and Community Care.  Driver for Meals on Wheels, Community Care and Canadian Cancer Society.  According to Doug’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  An interment will be held at the family plot, United Cemeteries in Carleton Place.  Condolences received at www.
