Ethel McNea

McNEA, Mrs. Ethel M. (nee Smith), of Chateau Gardens, Aylmer, formerly of Metcalfe Gardens, St. Thomas, passed into peace at her residence on Thursday, August 22, 2013, in her 94th year.  Wife of the late Alvin A. “Al” McNea (1976).  Mother of Wanda McNea and her partner Barbara Loynes of Kanata.  Sister of Donna Mozga (Joseph) of Sarnia, Lena Samis (late Paul), Doreen Hewitt (late Bill), all of St. Thomas, Murray A. Smith (Betty) of Fingal, late Wray K. Smith (Audré of St. Thomas), late Leonard C. Smith, and the late Elsie Campbell. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Born in Southwold Twp., ON, October 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Leta (nee Mizen) Smith.  Ethel was a retired employee of Hartz Canada, St. Thomas.  She was a former member of the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre, the Steelworkers Retirees, and Tonti Chapter, I.O.D.E., St. Thomas.  In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation.  A private memorial service will be held  at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, August     24th.  Memorial donations to the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre or the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas gratefully acknowledged.
