Died peacefully surrounded by love at her home on Sunday February 8, 2015 following a year long battle with cancer. Doreen of Wasaga Beach, loving wife of Raymond (Bud) McKean. Caring mother of Gordon, June McKean (Fransico Da Nova), Susan (Robert Mitchell) and Raymond (Wendy). Proud grandmother of Brandon, Melissa, Lindsay, Jesse, Joshua, Emily and Kristine and to great grandchildren Faith, Zachary, Hope, Thomas, Lucas and Marcus. Dear sister of George England and Emily Sawyer. Doreen is predeceased by her parents George and Ruth England and her brother Tony England. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Doreen loved life. Her dimple filled smile and her genuine joy and happiness will always remain with her family whom she loved so much. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Friday February 13, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday February 15, 2015 at 2 o’clock. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Toronto at a later date. Doreen’s family wish to express a special thank you to Dr. Bryan Marshall for his expert care and for always being there for Doreen’s family. They are grateful to Dr. Russell, Pam and the Oncology staff at R.V.H., Barrie for their compassion and their care. They thank Lisa, Cassandra and Billie, their St. Elizabeth nurses and Carol, Lenore and Jennifer, their PSWs, for the constant care, love and support. Words are not enough to express the gratitude to these and so many others that have taken this journey with Doreen’s family. Thank you.
