Jim McHardy obitFamily and friends are remembering the full and wide-ranging life of Jim McHardy who passed away on October 15, 2014 at the age of 88. World War II veteran, peanut-butter salesman, advertising executive, cattle breeder, dedicated family man, militia commander, lifelong eccentric dog owner, and master of the barbeque. He will be forever recalled for his award winning television commercials, unrelenting work ethic, role as Chairman of the Association of Canadian Advertising, his long line of less than perfect polled Herefords. Always a true gentleman, his wit, warmth and wry sense of humour will be sorely missed. Jim is predeceased by his wife of 63 years Betty and his son Robin (Cindy). He is survived by his daughter Libby (Greg), son Jim (Jennie) and grandchildren Fiona, Iain, Andie, Molly, Evan and Marla. Thanks go out to the wonderful care staff at the Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital and Alexander Place, Waterdown. A private family Graveside Service will be held at Rock Chapel Cemetery. A Celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Sunday November 9, 2014, from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Watermark TapHouse and Grille, 115 Hamilton Street N, Waterdown.
