Edward McDougall, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, January 09, 2015. He was 97.
Edward was born on June 22, 1917 to the late James and Rachel (nee McKinnon) McDougall in Bentinck Township. Ed worked for Moore Bus Lines as a bus driver for 27 years as well as enjoyed farming. He raced standardbred race horses for thirteen years and was very proud of his accomplishments.
He will be missed by his loving sons Ian (Bernice) McDougall of Hanover and Warren McDougall of Toronto, daughter-in-law Lynne McDougall of Hanover, proud grandfather of Paulette (Marc) Sauriol of Brooklyn, New York, Shane McDougall of Calgary, Alberta, Eric (Carly) McDougall of Uxbridge and Mark (Jenn) McDougall of Toronto, greatgrandpa to Lucy, Alice, Charlie and William McDougall and Dax Sauriol. He will be remembered by his sister-in-law Doris McDougall of Hanover. Predeceased by his wife Florence (nee MacDonald) McDougall, his son Allan McDougall, brothers Cameron and Duncan McDougall.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Grace United Church at 2:30 pm. Rev. Rienk Vlietstra officiating. Spring Interment in Durham Cemetery.
