McDONALD, Ray Franklin

Born August 5, 1930, passed away peacefully January 3, 2014. Predeceased by his parents Franklin McDonald and Dorothy Sample. Loving husband and best friend of Elaine (nee Grubb) for 57 years. Devoted father to Ann Mills (Steve) of Wheatley and Richard Ray of Staples. Loving poppa of Jason (Kristen), Justin (Robyn) and Dylan Mills, Jamie Rae Friesen (Colton) and Amy, Ashley and Jessica Breen and families. Darling great poppa of Ella & Levi Mills. Dearest brother of the late Wilda Leeming (Robert), Duane McDonald (Elsie), Marion Sykes (Jack), Melvin McDonald (Pat), Stanley McDonald (Irene), Darlene Murray (Heath), Jo Graff (Robert) and brother-in-law to Karen Deyell (late Robert), late Carol Authier (Gord), Margaret Franklin (Bruce) and Douglas Grubb (Karen). He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Ray retired from Heinz after 37 years of service, finishing his career as the Department Head of Electrical. Rays favorite past times were camping, hunting, hockey and farming. Visitation will take place at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell St. Leamington (519-326-2631) on Monday, January 6, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Ray’s life at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2013 from St. John’s Anglican Church, 60 Erie St. North, Leamington. Rev. Robert Lemon officiating. Donations may be made to the South Point Minor Hockey Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
